Better, possibly. But not easier, not by a long shot. Multiplayer isn't that hard if you don't have to worry about it being robust enough to AAA standards.
I'd prefer the game be completed (or at least close to completion) before even thinking about multiplayer.

Multiplayer is the kind of beast that should either be added early on so everything can be developed with it in mind, or last when development can be focused on it.

Definitely. But it's also the kind of thing that a modder would have more business implementing.

Yo, just wanna share some dev news.
These are mostly for v0.28.

I’ll just briefly summarize the things that were already mentioned here first just in case some of you missed them.
There will be a library accessible in Graxia; you know what that means. Lots of reading and lore galore.

There will also be a blacksmith where you can craft new staves with varying attributes, the staves not only changes in appearance but how also its various aspects as well—such as cast time and damage.

And a brand new spell, from the demonstration, it seems to be a mix of offensive and defensive spell; a group of bubbles will surround and hover over you, protecting you and damaging enemies that comes in contact.

Now unto the newer stuff:
It seems that the dev’s planning on adding NPCs as you may have seen from the post earlier from paz01—varying from generic NPCs and named characters Alma and Ixia. These NPCs will be available in tandem with a new guild quest format which will be called “Rescue Missions”.

The videos are already shared in the thread a few scrolls away and I’m too lazy so I won’t put them here.

The A.Is are janky but they’re making progress that’s for sure. In the topic of animation the dev stated that they don’t plan on making many different pixel animations (meaning they’ll probably be similar to Noel’s animations with a few variations) for mobs with the exception of the wooden horse like Ixia’s and Alma’s animations.

There’s also a new mob that “may or may not appear in v0.28.” the dev says. To be honest it looks like a bottle if it consumes Noel.

On an unrelated note, there’s a video about the ghost girl (the girl you’ll briefly see at the beginning, remember her?) which is a side-project the dev’s slowly working on.

Here’s other illustrations:

Translation for the text below (from right to left):
If you absorb any more (magic power)…
This is what will happen!!

That’s all the news we have for now.
By "not planning on adding more pixel animations" he means for the new NPCs right? or is he saying that this is pretty much it in terms of H scenes for Noel and he's going to focus on other things in the game now

The dev is talking about the animations of the new NPCs. There will still be new contents for Noel I believe.

See the articles for yourself if you want to be sure below:
- this is a small dev update, this is also where he said he won’t add a lot of animation variants for the new NPCs.
- this is where the dev showcases the NPCs and teases the new bottle mob thing.

Also, I forgot to mention but v0.28 is scheduled for release in July.

I mean, a skilled enough modder could add multiplayer after the fact.

Has been done before with other games [such as Subnautica]
And like I said, if you're willing to ignore specific complaints because they aren't what you experience in a AAA game, it's actually really simple. It's only when you want flawless client prediction / rollback that it takes effort.

Why do you keep bringing AAA into this? It's unnecessary when talking about indie.

Frankly, if it's not implemented well I'd rather there not be multiplayer. I don't care for it.

Whether it is simple to implement or not doesn't matter.

probably just for comparison. And i agree with u about rather not, if there some different game mode with multi like "racing your friends who faster in bypassing obstacle run" or "arena, where you just bash each other and monsters" with no rewards and progression in main mission like i want it to, i would not care either. But both our caring not matter. If dev would want to implement it, he would, if he don't-he don't

How the fuck do you cross the thorn bridge when the place gets attacked before school to go help Ixia? I attack the rock underneath and nothing happens, just some blocky things appear.

EDIT: Alright it is NOT obvious that the symbol that appears on these dumb rocks is supposed to be the same fanciful symbol as the calligraphy shit used for the bomb symbol. Those should match one another.

also found a memory i havent unlock. can anyone help?
Talk to Nightingale; there should be an option that talks about the Forbidden Fruit or something—she should ask you to buy it for you.
After that, go visit the the Witch’s Shop Noel lives in and buy that very same fruit; if it is not available yet, go to the forest again and do some combat first then come back into the shop.
After buying and having it in your inventory, find Nightingale again and give it to her.
You need to do something that passes time like combat then revisit her.
If all is done correctly there should only be her bag on the ground where you’ll find her—which will trigger the cutscene.
