That error is due to missing files from the Microsoft C runtime libraries. One of the two is that you are missing some Microsoft Visual C++ or you need to update them. When it tells you to reinstall the program, that is because some games contain certain Visual C++ files that they recommend you install so that the game runs well.

Edit: found them, but stunning them just softlocks the game. Alert stays on and you can't do anything.

For the soldier girls you need to hit them in the back with a charged attack (hold z) and then after the alert is over you can capture them, she seems to only spawn in the cafeteria corridor

And the control is done exclusively through the arrows? And there are/will be no control settings/WASD mode? Because one of my arrows sticks, which does not contribute to a pleasant experience in games with a single control option...
(And yes, technically there are a lot of solutions from replacement/repair (doing it because of one button is quite wasteful), to reassigning keys/special programs (I tried a couple of times and gave up halfway). But when 90% of the time you don't even remember about them, messing with them is such a pain...)

So for new girl you got to first vent and change location. Go down, get spoted, wait out the alert and charge attack her in the back. You do it with alarm active you soft lock.

Still have that issue where pressing any arrow keys in the last two seconds means I can't charge an attack, and yeah hitting a guard while an alarm is active breaks the alarm timer so you're trapped in the room with an uninteractable guard.

Doesn't work because the alarm never expires.

Hey don't know if I did something wrong but all I got is a black screen with music playing and while technically the game is running because it makes sounds when I click the arrow keys I can't see anything I've tried running it usually, with Locale Emulator, as admin, As admin with Locale Emulator and still nothing shows up

Yeah, I have the same problem. No answers on this forum.
