All NSFW games on Itch are now hidden by default.

Itch currently has 2 summer games bundles that end in two days. The smaller one had 2 games removed while the bigger one had 7 games removed. They were active during the entire time the bundle was up, until recently. While I know bundles are hosted by users, I doubt anyone can start a bundle without Itch staff approval. Why would they suddenly have a issue now with these games?
What do you think? They probably got issued an ultimatum by shitty payment processors (Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal) because, apparently, these companies act as moral arbiters, deciding what kind of content we "shitty peasants" are allowed to consume.

Searching via tags won't show anything. Use this:
Though it only shows what hasn't been banned

I'm gonna say this rn. We're at the eve of an era of rampant sexual conservatism. If you have a favourite porn game or artist or whatever make sure you keep it safe. Torrent it, make backups, upload it. Cause there's a good chance it'll get fucked over.

Yeah practically as everyone said already, same thing with the visa and mastercard policies. Tbh the thing that hits me the most is that they went against ALL LGBTQI+ games (some of them non-pornographic), which is something I saw coming. They are not going to stop here.
"They went against" games that have sexual violence, have depictions of minors, minor-presenting or suggested minors in a sexual context -- and the other listed prohibitions and advisories about payment processor policies.

If "ALL LGBTQI+ games" have sexual violence, have depictions of minors, minor-presenting or suggested minors in a sexual context -- and the other listed prohibitions and advisories about payment processor policies - then they should be removed, per the rules that itch.io has had in place for at least a decade.

I highly doubt your claim of "ALL LGBTQI+ games" - and please, don't motivate me to go to itch.io and find many games listed there to prove you wrong.

Steam isn't banning all the NSFW content. They are banning non-consensual sex scenes, including sexual violence, rape, etc... and incest - yes, even within drawn/modeled content, not human. This adds to the ban they have on bestiality, minors in adult content, etc.

But there are still THOUSANDS of NSFW games on Steam.

Itch shouldn't have let those games on their site to begin with, based upon their TOS that have been in place since at least September 2015. No non-consensual sex scenes, including sexual violence, rape, etc.... and they have had the rules that creators have to follow payment processor rules during the whole time too.

People should keep an eye on Subscribestar, next.
this is actually wrong. its not just games containing rape/ incest/ etc. ALL adult content is currently unsearchable on itch. some of the pages still exist if you have some way to directly navigate to them but there is no way to find them on the site. there is a very real chance that they have simply only deleted the most questionable content but are still in the process of removing it all.

Yup, the search looks down (I'm not logged in) - most likely because they are working through the games to review them. Once their review is done, then check back.

Until then, use Google or your favorite web search engine:

You shouldn't be so rough on yourself. I'm sure you're a good person.

Also, just because you cannot accept facts doesn't affect me.

"But what do the credit card companies in question have to say about the matter? Recently, Visa’s Japanese subsidiary, Visa Worldwide Japan Co., held a briefing to talk about its local expansion strategies (as reported by ). During the Q&A session of this briefing, the company’s president and representative director Cietan Kitney was asked about why Visa is becoming unusable on sites selling adult content that’s legal in Japan.

In response, Kitney commented that while Visa’s policy is to make legal and legitimate purchases available as much as possible, it is “sometimes necessary to deny use to protect the brand.” He goes on to say that these are “complex decisions involving both global and local policies” and that “it is important to maintain sincerity and integrity, and we will continue to do so,” which suggests that the company does not intent to change its stance. There is no specific explanation provided as to what kind of global and local policies Visa’s decisions are being determined by."

Yep im sure visa and mastercard consider porn to be perfectly fine with their brand and won't go after anything more then the most extreme cases XD

also "According to a recent email, Fansly was to change their ToS in order to appease “our payment processing partners”. The update also includes a suite of other “clarifications” around content such as hypnosis, wrestling, and drugs or alcohol. " but im sure count morado is correct and everybody is just making a slippery slope arguement :)

Can't believe I got to waste my first post on this shit :(

Exactly what I'm talking about, they start here, then expand into other things, there's no stop on what can be censored until they already censored everything

check the games that were removed. my guess is they all had either incest and/or rape tag. so a blanket suspension on those games. this could be leafo (itch owner) receiving the same ultimatum that made steam remove incest and rape games. note that collective shout mentioned steam AND itch in their open letter to visa et al
"We request that you demonstrate corporate social responsibility and immediately cease processing payments on Steam and Itch.io and any other platforms hosting similar games."

there is also this cryptic message from leafo on their discord
itch.png
this must have been sent shortly before/around the time the adult games were deindexed and (some) games suspended. you can easily interpret this as leafo signaling he is obeying orders: "Yes, sir!"

I think you misspelled buttlicker. I mean, I am a fragrant asshole, after all.

PS: I am not enjoying the sight of people who exemplify Cole's Axiom.

As stated two other threads - will not have any affect on this at all. It is not what you think it is, or what someone has presented it to you as.
Fuck you, credit cards!
You mean for reminding Itch that Itch has had rules for at least 10 years that Itch has to follow? Okay.
