* Dev has clarified my drastic misunderstandings. Review altered in response. I will be replaying the game in full as my recollection is flawed and biased at best. Edit: Sorry to dev for not clarifying that and coming across as sarcastic (I forgot to update the rating it wasn't a personal slight.
) * tl;dr and skip to ratings on bottom.
MC's friend is given free reign to do something just about anyone would be furious over without consequence that the stereotypical "main character" plot armor allows. I greatly dislike this.
As to the game itself, the renders are solid the faces are... not quite but a bit disney-esque at times? The pacing isn't bad, and the general premise is good. If you can get over the hangups I have over the issue above, I recommend giving it a try.
Edit: Overall rating I say 2, maybe 2.5 , but given the sincerity of the dev and future clarifications in the story of these issues I say it has plenty of upside. I appreciate them taking the time to reach out. That sincerely impressed me. Could end up being a quite good game in my view even with my misgivings. I'll keep tabs, and recommend anyone on the fence to give it another shot later after a few updates.
However, I (personally) still find Kim to be a horrible "friend" who has a lot of work to redeem themselves as a decent person the MC should have any goodwill towards and think MC is a bit of a pushover as a result.
Ratings on a 0-5 Scale for clarification 0-1 = 1 star
Concept: 3/5 (Time travel to save the world/etc)
Plot: 1.5/5 (Reasons that I sincerely disliked above)
Sound: 3/5 (Nothing praise, nothing to shut the volume off for either)
Graphics: 2.5/5 (Faces overly expressive at times, not bad, not something you'd DL in 4K either, which with over 7GB it feels a bit bulky for...hmmm "vintage" renders? Still solid, I've seen far worse and its better than Koikatsu assets.)
Price: 5/5 (Its free PogU)
Overall: 2.5/5 As it is I feel its a 2 star, but dev's sincerity bumps to a 3.
