garbro doesnt work for alot of the games i tried t++ requires everything to be unpacked as for the others i have not tried

which would you recommend? (something that can connect to local api)

prolly to big for local but i got a decent speed so i could maybe do something with it worst case i just use gemini or something probably be a mix of the two tho with gemini i might not be able to give context because it will eat tokens up like nothing
Well, I don't know what exactly you are asking for. If you want a one simple solution for every visual novel game out there, then that's impossible. If it's about Amakano 3, then you use Garbro on Amakano3.pfs file and extract the script folder with all the script. Then you can just use notepad++ or some other text editor to directly edit the script or use VNTranslationTools for example to extract the text into json or xlsx file. Then you can just translate and then reinsert the translation with VNTranslationTools. Here is the japanese script:

If you ask about a tool that will put the japanese text through the choosen LLM, then I personally don't use those. I just copy the text and put it into the Claude or other LLM chat, with some dictionaries and good prompt, then edit the lines manually as I read the text. It feels more accurate to me than using tools. But there are some tools available, like GalTransl, AiNiee, etc.

i actually did exactly that lol i used languagacha galtransl was to much chinese for me to understand could barely use it anyways my local model was abit slow so i ended up just relying on a massive glossary and gemini which isnt bad so ill just run with it lol tho my local model is nicer i feel just my computer is to weak

Oh, could you tell me the name of that local model? I would like to test it myself. For scientific purposes of course.

Ahh, ..... was hoping for a hidden Harem Route, but all my hopes got destroyed after 3h of gameplay and another 100% save.

it was a model recommended to me by the people in the luna tl server and some other server uh one sec

one is a vntl model for obvious reasons its a vn and the other is aabliterated version of gemma to remove censorship they are decent when using them to go line by line using a few sentances for context in luna settings however couldnt not get the vntl model to work correctly with langua gacha

as for the names one is mradermacher/Huihui-gemma-3n-E4B-it-abliterated-GGUF
the other is mradermacher/Llama-3-VNTL-Yollisa-8B-i1-GGUF

honestly i think the gemma one is abit better because its able to translate it abit more correctly on occasion but for fantasy stuff i dont
doubt that vntl might be better

anyways i compared it abit i think the patch from this forum is better than the gemini one i made so rip plus they made the font smaller which kinda sucks but it makes sure all the text fits so oh well mine doesnt so some of the text does get cut

yeah have confirmed its better i wonder if they just used a better prompt or something or there's just that big of a difference between the model they used and gemini

They used Qwen 3 Max.
Thank you for the links. I will test them.

Any chance this is some sort of AI-assisted product? The lighting being reminiscent of it I could actually write off somehow, but the toes on the third screenshot plus several similar finger bloopers make it extremely difficult to just "naah" away.

Yes, I did get the same feeling and found some errors here and there an artist wouldn't make. So it very likely AI assisted.

Therefore, this game needs to have character progression choices in order to reach an ending, rather than letting us simply pick our favorite character first
