The amount of unhappy cat ladies in the world?
I mean look, my target audience in my mid to late 20's used to be chicks in their mid 30's without kids who suddenly realized they were getting too old. Or the occasional single mom. They always hit you with the line "I wish I'd met you years ago." Or. "I wish I was 10 years younger." Never fails.
Women who have kids, even single ones, do tend to end up happier later in life. Nothing fun about carrying in groceries at 70 to an empty house so you can turn on the TV and watch reruns from 30 years go. At some point everyone you are related to is dead, and you're just waiting to be the same.

Haha, thanks for posting this! Amanda sounds like one of those characters you can’t help but root for, especially when the friend’s pushing her into all sorts of trouble. Makes me wonder, how wild does it get? Like, is this a slow-burn “maybe I’ll dip my toes in” kinda thing, or does it turn into full-on chaos pretty quick?
