I am working on my first game. For now it's called "Amborella City", a game set in a fictional medieval city called Amborella. It might be so that I will keep using this city for future games, but with different storylines and characters. But for now, I want to focus on the first installment of the series.

You will play as a female character who inherited a abandoned shack nearby the city. The shack needs a lot of work, but it will look great when all work is done. The core gameplay will mostly be point and click.

The story will have a lighthearted and humorous undertone, I don't like to write things that are not fun to read. I will tell more about the game in a future post, but I might as well show a sneak peek.

Good luck! I'm also working on a medieval point&click!

Nice art! are you both the Artist and Writer?

what engine are you using?
Thank you! I wish I was as good as the artist, I am the writer/programmer. I am using RenPy because of its great visual novel features. Which engine will you use? And what will your game be about?

I'm using Visionaire Studio.. not sure if anyone else is using it on these forums... It was made for point&click Adventure style games where a character moves around. like Leisure Suit Larry or King's quest. (It could probably be used for visual novel style games too from what I've seen)

I'm not a writer but the story is mostly about a village guard getting into misadventures and eventually getting in over his head.

This is my first game so I don't want it to become too complicated...

I'm using Honey Select 2 for the art but taking my photoshop skills and various software to make the pics more drawn.

Thank you! I chose to give her a big bust, because...why not. Current progress: I am finishing up chapter 1. I will clean it up when I am done, and then I might post the outcome here: the first alpha demo.

My plan is to make the chapters linear, and add more branches when the main story is done. I am also thinking about how I can add the sandbox elements, but for now creating the story and images is more important.

How much content do you plan for your first demo ?

I think it's more and more import to have a solid, polished and generous first release nowadays.

There are so many games released each day.

There are 4 scenes available in the first chapter. I think it depends on the demo you release. An alpha demo does not have to be polished, the version I will release can be considered a test build over which I would like to receive feedback from players. And how a developer releases his demo, be it "generous" or not, depends on him. I plan to release the game on Steam, so I will not create a Patreon or promise weekly/biweekly/monthly releases.

Decided to change the main character's looks.

About her: she's a confident warrior who is able to wield many weapons. She goes to the capital to investigate something that involves a mysterious creature.

I am redoing chapter 1 to make it fit to the main character's personality.

That's quite a 180° turn comparing to the very first picture you posted on your thread.

Not fan of her gigantic breast size, but still I prefer her new design.

This character looks way more serious too.

Still experimenting. But I like her breast size. I think it's a matter of taste.

Gigamtic appendages seem to be the norm here... but hopefully other chars will bring more variety
Maybe other characters will be more of your taste.

Hello!

My goodness! :)
Glad that you like her!

Hi, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing your game (and artistix's one too). There is no such thing as enough fantasy/medieval games around.
The "inherited abandoned shack" gives me a faint "Broken Heart bordello" vibe.
I really like your style, even if I don't like ginormous breasts, you draw them in a way that looks well proportioned on the girl.
The change of protagonist seems like a complete 180° turn. In her first incarnation, she looked like a sweet, mature woman, a bit innocent... The "Oh my Gods, what are you doing to my body?" type. But now she's like "Keep your hands where they belong or I'll rape you." Both are great, I imagine that the new one will fit better the story that you are planning.

Thank you for your compliments. I wish I could draw this well, but I can't. That's why I commission the art, and I think it looks awesome. People will play the game for its good art (or you should have interesting game mechanics), so I thought it would be a good idea to go for someone who can paint in a realistic style. It's more expensive, but it fits the game better.

I am still figuring out what I want for the first few chapters, might post an alpha demo later. But no promises.

Most people stay out of the forest at night, but not Luna. She is a Hunter. Someone who has undergone heavy training to become a warrior with the knowledge and skills to take on almost every creature known to man. Wielding her trusted weapon, she confidently walks through the woods to find a place to stay for the night. She has to go through the forest since it is the only way to Capital City.

Faint howls can be heard in the distance. These cries do not disturb Luna, since she knows it's wolves who patrol their home. She is a guest in their dwelling, so she won’t disturb them. Luna sees the woodlands as a living thing; a natural entity that has its perfect balance. She will only take what she can find, not more.

Luna sets up camp for the night and goes foraging. Dim rustles can be heard in nearby bushes. Like a silent leopard, she stalks her prey until it's the perfect time to strike. Before the deer knows it's being followed, it's too late. Luna's weapon cleanly pierces through it, immediately ending its life. She does not like to kill, only when she needs to. Luna was running low on supplies, so she had to kill the deer, or go days without food.

Small preview of the writing style. The artist is drawing new scenes, I will post a preview when those are done. There is still much to do, but I think I have finally found the story for the game I want to make.
