Other games:
Make the core or just use placeholders (like by making quick levels with boxes, placeholder models for NPCs, placeholder text)
Construct the main selling point as fast as possible, as it is the focus after all
Then they go back and fully develop side mechanics
Only then can they go and mess around with extra stuff
And then they promo the game (games requiring public backing often promo after constructing the main selling point, like how most porn game demos already feature a couple example sex scenes, a level or two, and the UI already finished mostly)
This game?
First was spamming an AI for the banner and promo material (Jason's "work" obviously)
Second was the character creator (ok, sure)
Third an "overworld" of sorts (ok, sure, but why to that extent)
Worked on the physics system (ok, but why to that extent)
Then they went and started developing entire shopping, minigame, stat systems (???)
And only once EVERYTHING ELSE for the game is completed, they'll make the dating a thing... in a dating game
It's like a visual novel being stuck at the 1st screen of text, because the dev refuses to add the 2nd screen of text until he finishes the 1000th screen and writes an entire side-erotica about the main character.
