Hello again you all,
so i am working on 2 projects. One of them is a Animal crossing like game in witch you have to build a colony for sexy anthro ant woman (pun somewhat intended)
The ant Game.jpg

I have made a hefty chunk of the game mechanics but things are gething a bit tricky at this point, It is also pretty grindy(witch i know you people don't like) and you have to whait a lot in real time to make progress. I am considering to start over again and making it more a harvest moon game instead. This would be a lot more easy to make for me and for the gamers posible to plow trough it to get to the good bits (pun definitely intended this time) I was wondering if i should continu the Animal crossing path or start over as a harvest moon like game.

(Ps the second game is a top down Zelda like game, that one is smooth sailing so fair.)

To be honest, building something up sounds more interesting than a colony that is already fully established.
It will feel much more personal once it's build up.
And you are the dev, can't you just make it less grindy?

But at the end, it's your project. If you simply don't feel it, maybe you should let it go and not let other people (who probably won't even play it) convince you to continue.

BTW, there were actually two Harvest Moon game where you slowly build up the town and lured in more villagers over the time: Harvest Moon - Island of Happiness and Harvest Moon - Sunshine Islands.

So both is possible.

I Think i will probably stick with the animal crossing idea for now, i managed to squish a ganerly bug witch is a big morale boost.
(I also have an idea for a different harvest moon game, maybe i will work on that when my current projects are finished)
Thanks for the input.
