Animations in Daz3D? Yay or nay?

Wondering what folks opinions on animations made in Daz3D are. For the game I made, I went with Koikatsu because the animations are easier 'out of the box' (and seemingly easier to animate on your own) but Koikatsu graphics are very same-y and somewhat limited. Daz3D has the more typical 3D models that you see in amateur adult games but the animations.... man. It often looks like ghost hands mashing stiff, plastic action figures together, usually in a very awkward looking loop. It's very rare I see Daz based animations that look good and most times I'd prefer games not have it at all.

Do you like Daz3D animations? In this day and age, do you expect animation? Would you rather have Daz3d style animations or none at all? General thoughts? If I go back to Daz3D for a future game, wondering if I should factor animation as part of the decision making.

It is possible to make great animations with almost any tool, what matters is the skill level of the animator.

Now, if what you are after is more typical 3D models but still want the same ease to create animations as koikatsu then take a look at honey select if you haven't.

it's a bit painful, but as animations in these games are typically short loops its okay. the main problem is daz pinning doesn't work and the IK is fucked. but that just means more fidgeting to make things work, it doesn't make it impossible.

and really, after having done cell animation before any animation software existed, it takes about the same time doing full loop in daz as it takes drawing one frame by hand. it's not that bad.

but the reason all animations you see are shit is not daz being difficult, it's the people not having any clue about animating. their work wouldn't be any better on another platform either. they just don't know any better.
