Honestly a LOT needs to be done with the pacing.

I get people want some spicy stuff fast, but after dragging through a long explanation of an extra layer of physical differences that applies to both sexes in the fantasy world, we barely get to see our own name (which we can't change) before interacting with a dude who we shag in an open office.

If you want it to feel intimidating, enticing or embarrassing to do something, we need a baseline. We can't just have a nameless intern dump a balloon on our hand and never be seen again, we need a normal work relationship with somebody who has a personality, that we wouldn't want to walk in on us. If we don't want to feel like constant public sex is normal for our character, we need to see a little of how they normally act.. like literally only a couple of minutes worth player time, but showing up with both characters in this magical "rut" already and not controlling it for 3seconds? It reduces your attachment to the same as finding a random nude photo online.

We could easily recover that reading time from other seemingly unessesary places, for example long speels about the pills themselves, and two different justifications of why we can't get offical ones, and why they might be dangerous or ineffective seems redundent. Why not just say our parents dissaproved, but our friend shares HALF their dose? Suddenly struggling to hold on to urges they are supposed to suppress makes a lot more sense, and unless you where going to have medical drama later, the entire side effect warning wasn't needed. You could also introduce some concepts as they are required, rather than frontloading them, like tell us about the pills when the character takes them the morning of the current day shown in gthe demo after already having started like lunchtime the day before. Introduce the extra information about betas when we meet one ect.

But there is also outside of pacing just a unwillingness to act out the narrative thats in the descriptions. Having our boss dismiss us saying "we pay you to sit on your pretty ass" isn't head accountant stuff, unless we'd already seen a couple of interactions where we where authoritative and now are shown that one person is very different. And being talked down to by the omega intern is its not "mostly successful at hiding we're an omega" its every body knows. If people acted like that already, why would we bother to hide it? To sell your narrative, have one of the omegas maybe flirt a little, and we turn them down for drinks after work (either put the charcaters thoughts that we're doing so because of the current distraction, or because we couldn't without giving away our big secret). Or prehaps instead a single line of text from a co-worker that implies everybody thinks we're an ice queen becuase we over compensate to hide it. This would build a place in the world, and build tension when the rug looks like it might be being pulled out from under us... even if the actual sex scene and end result was exactly the same.

I don't want to seem to negative, because the actual writing that is present is very well done, the custom GUI looks and works well, backgrounds ect fit the theme and each other. Its clearly a high quality product, and I can see how if you've read the complete story a few times producing it will be shocking people get a "who and I and why do I care" reaction to the intro, because you already do know, and already are invested. But as somebody picking it up clod we don't have that. Maybe be the story feels better as we get more invested... but we need a start thats not a plumber porn skit if we are to sell the protagonist as anything but a totally head empty bimbo (in which case make him the bosses secretary, not a department head, and remove the rubbish about trying to pretend we're a beta).

This demo was released for free back in June at Yaoi Game Jam 2024. Why all the hype? If only it were the full game...
