Seeking Any AAA adult games?

It's weird, really weird, how all games we have are homemade. Like, extremely homemade. I'm kinda done playing game with the same assets, copy paste faces, poorly-writen dialogue and stop motion animations. If you compare the best of our kind, which by many would be considered Milfy City I suppose, it's still miles away from 3d animations you can find in sites like StudioFOW and Affect3D, or animators like SelfdrillingSMS. Same goes for renders. Isn't it weird that there are no AAA, or at least indie adult games? 99% of adult games that are released officially are japanese eroges/nukiges. Meanwhile "3d games" only exist in the form of homemade patreon games. Why is that? Is this industry not profitable at all?

It seems this forum is exclusive to non-official releases, excluding for example steam releases and such. So I'm guessing thats why all I get around here are homemade games? But then are there actually some higher-quality games out there? I've only really heard of Subverse, which seems to be pretty good. I'm hoping I've been living inside a cave and there are actually a bunch of "official" games out there. Is that the case? In case it's not, why do you think that's the case? As I've said, in my opinion, it's weird - really weird. Porn is one of the biggest industries out there. And so is gaming. I doubt an adult game with the current gaming standards of graphics and physics wouldn't sell. Are we really that much of a niche?

Also, don't get me wrong. I admire the creators that we have a lot, and I'm really pleased by their works.

I don't know any AAA devs that develops adult games, but there are at least DrPinkCake and PhillyGames here. Them two comes damn close, even if they are "indie".

There are zero AAA adult games. Sorry to disappoint. The closest thing you'll get is probably the biggest titles out of Japan, and they're still way off the mark in terms of production value.

That being said, there are some AAA games with extensive adult modding such as Skyrim and Sims 4.

Its not easy to get support for this market. The biggest company used to be Illusion from Japan, its the closes you can get to a AAA company. They developed their own engine and 3D models. It cost to mutch to develop quality, so the best you can get are modded AAA titles like Skyrim. It used to be impossible to sell porn games in stores, and that is probably the reason why they dont really exist.

you do have Wild Life by Adeptus Steve - that's on AAA level and has like $90K+ per month from patreon - its an open world game and you can fly - and ofcourse has a lot of sex lol

It is like with VR games: As long as you cannot sell a few million copies (to paying customers) it is not possible to spend a few million on the production of a title, unless you have a lot of money to burn. As simple as that. VR has a few companies taking the riisk (like HalfLife Alyx, Valve has Steam to back up) to push hardware and other political intersts, but these kind of players are nowhere in the xxx industry. So it is the indies that try to fill the gap. And they naturally have very low budgets, and reality is that an AAA game is not something you whip up in a garage.

Illusion is not an AAA company. They focus almost entirely on Japan which removes the AAA criteria.
There are many amateur developers who surpass Illusion by far in quality.Actually, Illusion's games are generally relatively simple in terms of 3D technology.

Unity can do much better.

StudioFOW made a porn game called Subverse. Probably closest thing to AAA porn game, though AAA by no means implies top quality, it just means top dollar spent on production with a full team of Devs.
NLT media is pretty close to this, as their lewd scenes are much higher quality than 99% of other adult games you will find.
Excepting Japanese adult games, which are an entirely different animal. Only a handful of Western produced adult games have made the millions of dollars that would justify AAA level investment. The vast majority of porn games barely make enough for the Devs to keep the lights on, which is why most are never finished.

Would have to agree with most about AAA games of erotic nature not existing, unless modding a AAA game, or some games that just have it as a minor part of the game like The Witcher series. That aside though the games your probably trying to look for are almost all going to be ones produced in Japan as there's more of a culture for those sorts of games there, and all sport originality, good stories and for the non VN games some pretty decent gameplay elements for erotic games.

I recommend Lust from Beyond. It has really good graphics, and the same goes for the audio.

Personally, I really liked the story, the gameplay, and how the explicit aspect was integrated with the overall theme.

What I can tell you is that after the prologue, I decided to buy the game from Steam for something like $18-$20. I don't really remember. But what I do remember is that I saw the game + Scarlet DLC available for free at some point.
