tbh, your writing needs a lot of work, I'm sorry. This story is really boring. There's too much exposition, and most of it doesn't go anywhere.

I'd suggest focusing on a single character, and telling their story well, before adding in more characters.

Yellow on black is what provide the highest contrast, but on a long run it would strains eyes. Yellowish white on dark blue (just a little bit of blue) is what achieve to be the best compromise on long term.
