Make that four other people, because I'm on board! So I should get together with like 5 other people to spam the depraved awakening thread? Because I guarantee I could make that happen.

According to a mod in the discord it would only take 3000 more posts....Make that four other people, because I'm on board!
So if 5 people posted 20 times per day it would only take 30 days? The MOTH thread makes that looks like child's playAccording to a mod in the discord it would only take 3000 more posts....
Yeah that is a good possibility, if so then they should really create another section for top games etc. Or something that helps hidden gems be more visible rather than buried in pages.I could be mistaken, but I've always thought that the Popular Games designation is generated completely objectively by the number of posts in the thread for that game and the total number of views for that thread.
Agreed!Yeah that is a good possibility, if so then they should really create another section for top games etc. Or something that helps hidden gems be more visible rather than buried in pages.
Yes, we should purge them all... with fire.
I kind of agree with you, but just as many said, popular isn't the same as good quality.
And making a "Top Games" section, even if it sounds good, it will be pretty caotic.
Choosing what games are superior than the others is a pretty subjective thing, and I know that there exist some parameters (besides logic thinking) to know which thing is superior than others in almost everything, but lest be honest, how many people would think 100% objectivly to rate games for this "Top Games list"?
And even if we get a super elitist team, how many people would agree with them?
There will always be a group that will diasagree and say "Hey, where's *insert their favorite game*" and make tons of posts complaining about the list.
Lets stay with the popular list and let the "hidden gems" get popular by themselfs.
Just saying, please don't kill me :FeelsBadMan:
Agreed!
Does anyone remember going to old-school movie-rental stores, or even Blockbuster (in the USA) before it went belly-up, and there were "employee favorite picks" of movies to browse? There were DVDs (or VHS tapes for us olds) curated by the employees--some consisted mainly of popcorn flicks, others were obscure arthouse films, while others were a combination of popular and also lesser-known films. I remember finding some enjoyable movies simply by realizing that "If this person likes these movies I've seen and also like, and also likes these other movies I haven't seen, maybe I should try them."
I do realize that many active members on this forum routinely post their favorite games and top-10 or top-20 lists, but a more organized forum for "Top Picks" curated and moderated could be a positive addition to F95.
EDIT (There was a Seinfeld episode that centered around this concept... Elaine became enamored with an unknown video-store employee whose movie picks were sensitive and deep, but he turned out to be a 16-year old kid living with his mom lol)
Who decides what these "top games" would be?Yeah that is a good possibility, if so then they should really create another section for top games etc. Or something that helps hidden gems be more visible rather than buried in pages.
People decide of course, theres a rating system, a review system, they also have additional data like number of downloads etc etc, with these they can easily create top *Genre*, Most downloaded, Trending Games, Recent games, even something like a weekly voting system done by users (which would also bring a lot more interaction to site itself).Who decides what these "top games" would be?
I've talked with the staff in Discord. That finished or abandoned games ... the traffic actually still active. Until the traffic became low, then those titles will still stay in popular games. How can a game abandoned several months ago be 'most popular'?
