Anyone else tired of Honey Select models in games?

Yeah, maybe you are right. But what about Honey Select 2 and their new game AI Girl? I think that models from those games at least not bad.
Do you think that DAZ models are better? From my point of view, DAZ characters usually more unique, but they are kinda ugly because of the uncanny valley effect.

Its possible to tolerate hs games if everything surrounding the shit models is good quality.
Since the visuals is what makes the first impression and f95 never has examples of dialogue and writing the poor visuals leads to skipping the games before you get the chance to see if its good in other aspects.

Some games using HS assets are quite nice, both models and environments, but there are few that stands out of the crowd among the numerous games using only HS.

It's pretty much like RPGM, people just go like: "Hey! Using this I can make a game with zero to none effort!!" so they just deliver a poorly customized product that looks exactly the same to the others.

A developer's goal should always be to make their models look the farthest from HS default ones.

Well, it all depends on the preference of the player. It will be a little strange to praise my game, so I will praise other games where the developers make the characters unique. To be fair, a huge number of HS game creators just use standard models / steal from other games. In principle, there is nothing wrong with using almost standard characters, but you need to change them at least a little. Many developers not only use standard models, but their renders are of rather poor quality, which quite affects the perception of the game by the players. As for the models from DAZ, I like some models, but I do not like a huge number of models due to the presence of a large number of moles, their strange location. It should also be noted that the DAZ models are repeated in games no less than the HS models. And also, in some DAZ games, the effect of the uncanny valley pisses me off.

On paper I agree with you, I think honey select is probably an easy way to create the 3d imagery you need for your game.

But some of the best games here are honey select too. The advantage of using honey select is that you can make alot of sex scenes a whole lot faster. The good games usually have more than twice the sexual content than the best daz games.

Compare the number of scenes in the legendary daz games (dreams of desire, dating my daughter, acting lessons, milf city, all of f95's favorites really) to the number of scenes in stuff like harem hotel or dark magic.

I agree that honey select is a drawback, but it has immense value too in the propper game.

In general, it all depends on the developer. You can make a great drink out of regular coffee, or you can make a complete rubbish that cannot be drunk :coffee:

The only thing worse than Honey Select is DAZ.
DAZ is just downright ugly to me.

The thing is with Honey Select with the number of Cards on the internet you can customize a few interesting characters easily.
With DAZ I don't think you have that much to work with other then modifying them manually, which greatly restricts the character rooster.

YMMV, but I think Honey Select looks like shit, and I simply won't play any new game that has those models as characters anymore. I don't care what version you have, it all looks awful to me.

Five years ago, I'd give you a pass. Options were few and far between. Now you can easily start making your own DAZ ladies. Even if DAZ girls also look kinda samey, they still look less terrible overall. But I'll also happily accept a text-only game that doesn't involve furries, or a game with RL porn. There are lots of options!

Basically this.

HS can be tolerable, as can other things that I consider sub-optimal, like RPMG, HTML or real (stolen) porn.
But it's definately a minus and it may lead me to not try a game unless other things (tags, title, description etc.) really stand out.

I do see the advantage for devs though, HS should be much easier and faster to create scenes thereby increasing production. One major disadvantage of one-man Daz devs is that the updates take a long time and are often rather short...

I tell you one thing, it has the worst male model and I say model singular because every honey select game has that sickly looking mother fucker as the protagonist.
