Anyone else uncomfortable with mind control all of a sudden?

Not really.
I still like mind control.
It is never done well anyway.
But there is one little thing that bug's me about mind control.
It isnt a victory.

In a debate i had recently we where talking about how overpowered mind control is.
And how much is removes the feeling of victory.
Getting a woman to willing submit herself to you.
To willingly betray her family and friends for you.
That is a greater achievement then:
Reprogrammed woman.

That said i still enjoy reprogramming woman.
Making them talk into a monotone voice.
Acting like mindless automitions.

But i do agree that it takes away some of the fun of mind break.
Making a person a mindless drone is fun.
Making a person a willing slave is even more fun.

Not really because too many non-sex cartoons and movies I've seen had mind control as a plot point so it just feels like a generic plot device to me. In most cases, it is just doing what we all know the villain would actually do if 'insert superhero story' wasn't rated PG, cause they are villains after all. As for the heroes doing it, well, if RPGs have taught me anything it is all heroes are thieves that break into innocent people's homes to rob them, so its not like morality is set in stone in the fantasy realms.

It all comes down to how it is used, much like every form of genre plot device.

I just think mind control and hypnosis is kind of lazy writing... like you want to get from point A (ppl not having sex) to point B (ppl having sex) and the quickest way to do it is to make the protagonist (or antagonist) have reality bending powers such as mind control, or time stop or hypnosis....
I mean I will still jerk off to it but I prefer when the FEMALE is enjoying it and is conscious about it becuase I want to see moral degradation and mind bend happen too and for her to choose having sex gradually and so on....
Some works start with mind control and then the girl slowly wakes up from it but by that time she is already having sex and has all the memories of doing it so just decides to keep on doing it. Takeda Hiromitsu often does this kind of plot so I am okay with that because at least at the end of it the girl chooses to have sex and is a slut of her own choosing.
So I like more realistic ways of talking the girl into having sex such as blackmail or gradual moral degradation, or massage, or getting drunk, aphrodisiac or drugs, or just going on a date with her and doing it which is still all cliche but looks more natural to me than just a guy snaps his fingers and starts fucking, that is just silly.

Let me see if I have this straight: several of you here are worried that porno fantasy mind control, a thing that has no real-world counterpart because mind control isn't real, takes away the capacity to consent from fictional characters who in no way exist or have thoughts or feelings and whose sole function is to star in a porn game. A porn game that the player, the only real person involved other than the dev, consented to play after (very likely) explicitly acknowledging that said porn game wasn't real and the characters were fictional and that the events depicted did not happen in real life via a warning screen prior to loading the game.

No, I don't find it icky. And I'd like to think that if I did, I'd find it icky in a 'that's not a kink I have' way rather than imputing real-world agency and real-world victimhood to a ren'py script and some images/animations/sounds in a porn game as though they were people.

Fetishes are just stuff that makes you horny. They aren't revealing of your character, they don't mark you as bad or good people, you can't have the 'wrong' fetishes, and you couldn't on-purpose cure them even if you wanted to. Nonetheless, if you find that your tastes change over time, then probably shift your porn selections to suit your evolving palate. No longer enjoying mind control porno for whatever reason? No problem! There's lots of other porn out there. Newly enjoying mind control porn? Have fun! There's lots of great stuff out there!

I've never been a big fan of mind control because it's just too powerful. For it to work for me it has to somehow be pretty ineffective. Something on the order of the lowered inhibitions from alcohol or the effect of peer pressure at a party I'm fine with. I can also live with something like the ability to induce some kind of relatively minor personality quirk in someone rather than just have total control over them. Something on the order of an automatic skill check success for 1 type of interaction with her. Unfortunately most of the mind control games I've played use it to basically turn MC into a god which I don't find interesting at all. I should not be able to walk up to some random girl off the street and tell her to suck my dick and have her comply. But that's how most mind control games work.

There's a reason most games have the protagonist start off with a bunch of problems he needs to overcome to get what he wants. Part of the appeal of a game is directing the main character through the classic "hero's journey". With mind control there is no journey. You've already won before you even start playing. You can walk around and just tell anyone you want to do whatever you want with no work required at all on your part. Boring, lazy, and completely uninteresting.

Exactly, it is not about morality, being righteous or smth that should be forbitten. It is a Fight of Fetishes for Content. For example titles like Sleepless: A Midsummer Nights Dream drop once in a blue moon, don't mind don't care, people need to have their fill of fetishes. But when an amazing studio like Bunnywalker releases yet another top quality animation with some gloomy mind control, of course I would wish they'd make smth else.

Yeah, it is just overpowered and lazy. I guess some people have a fetish for mind control, in that case it is understandable. But there is no hero journey like you said, there is no mountain to climb and without obstacles there is no story.
With mind control there is just the climax without the setup, there is just

Honestly I'm unsure how exactly I feel on this because my experience may be a little different. I tend to imagine myself in the position of the person who is losing control via hypnosis or conditioning or straight up mind control and I find it very erotic. I never really imagined myself as the person doing the mind control or the rape, not really sure why that is but its just kinda the way I interact with these games and stories. The fantasy of losing control was always what turned me on, not necessarily making someone else lose it.
