VN Ren'Py Aperture (NTR Game) - Developer Thread

Title: Aperture
Platform: Ren’Py (mostly linear story with flavor choices)

Genre: Slice-of-life, Netorare, corruption, coercion, blackmail (the good kind), voyeurism, social media, drama.

Game features: Immersive Male POV scenarios, stylized presentation, immersive audio (especially for sexual scenes), perverted kinks and themes with creative scenarios.

Plot: You play as Sasaki Keita, a high-school student who’s a wisecrack with a good heart, with no filter. His strong sense of justice kicked him out of his previous school. You are transferred to ‘Hoshino Academy of Excellence’. A prestigious prep school which prioritizes academics and sports with little regard to arts and craft. You (literally) run into Tomoya Rin, the president of the photography club, on your first day to school and effectively break her camera. As atonement, you help her in her photography excursions to help her win competitions for her club as it’s the only way she keeps the club afloat.

About the release: Probably the most important question. I have laid out my groundwork and pre-production with the sprites, backgrounds, music and my skills to code this thing. I have a working demo already. I plan to release it this May. I'm attaching a couple of shots from the game to showcase the art style. (the scenes are subjected to change).

Final words: I’m a solo dev figuring all of this out on my own. Feel free to reach out to me if you wanna help or give me ideas. I’m a nice dude/dudette.

All good ideas! And I do plan to implement all sorts of tropes and scenes. Outfit gradually changing is definitely one of them. With AI art, there's no real limitation to how many pictures or outfits I can generate.

I put up one poll regarding the plot for the side character Jun. I'll think of some more polls (lemme know if you have any ideas). And for outsourcing, I DEFINITELY want someone for UI and coding parallax scenes. I really believe that a good UI really elevates the quality of a game. So if anyone's good at Ren'Py coding, feel free to DM me.

I really want to give you guys a good, and somewhat substantial first chapter in terms of length and story beats. I guess I'll put a poll asking what's the ideal length you guys might be expecting.

I really liked the idea and the characters
You have similar tastes when I look for a game or story to read (I prefer to read). The only thing that doesn't interest me much is blackmail, especially if it's like "If you don't have sex with me, I'll do that". I like it when it's something lighter, and not the main reason for the guy to have sex with her.

For me, what gets me the most is the construction of the environment and the progression until the sex scenes (which don't need to come at the beginning of the game, but at the end of the middle of the game, especially if it's a linear game, and after that you gradually add your fetishes). The story needs to be believable and immersive (background music, sounds, and knowing the moments of tension. see NTRMAN), the way she goes from the "innocent" girl to her corruption is the main thing for me. She needs to have conflicts with herself and not just be an empty object. I know this is difficult, and that's why we don't see it every day.

I have several examples of stories like this, but a recent one that I saw really caught my attention. It's from a series called The White Lotus on season 2 (you don't necessarily need to watch the first season), the corruption happens secretly from the guy's perspective, it's a good example of a slow burn corruption (I really like slow burn hahahaha)

I wrote this just to express my opinion, not to change your ideas about the game, do something that you feel good doing.

I see that NTR is kicking NTRS' ass in the poll but would you be interested in potentially adding a side story once this is finished to tell a what-if NTRS route? On another note, I think this idea would be incredible in RPGM format but perhaps that can be something you try your hand at once you've gained more experience.
