Horse require being tamed/ befriending and mandatory to build their home.

Explore new: find other "friendly" settlements out there, besides farm, nearby city, and settlement; more distant place like docks warehouse zone to explore and find new, bridge city, and farming community of nudists, and fourth one military because I don't know if they have shop.
Bio suit recipe would have been nice to wear roaming high radioactive zones.
Growth potion would work to have certain children raised, so you have them send them out, so the player character wouldn't have to.
Why stop at knives, why not bigger swords, and spears, and bladed boomerang? Farm tools. Shooting knife?
Crafting possible ghillie suits with hay or making camouflage standing in trees or other places.
In Hospital resource people don't notice this resource is able to gathered is shower curtains, sterilized medical equipment and pillows, roof tiles, and wood and stationary. If the world did end, the Hospital isn't the only place you collect this stuff at. Chemicals too, and bricks, Hospitals where store medicines, trains like cargo and pharma warehouse in cities?
Something vital missing exploring: where water is coming from at cabin? Make it bigger, store better.
Make a fishery or raise animals?(better than canned resource)
Prepare your own fort for winter or seasons that may or may not come?
