I use images in webp format and put them in the path /images/custom_portraits/female (for women). Then in Customize - Portrait I write female/image_name.webp and that's it.

My pictures always turn out larger and overlap some of the text, despite the fact that I reduce it to 500 pixels

Strange.. I put all pictures 512x512 pixels, and everything looks fine. Maybe it depends on the browser?

By the way, .jpg is also supported.

I leave them at 500x500 pixels. What you say has also happened to me, but only when the width was less and I always set the height to 500.
I think the key is that the width and height are equal.

1. Put pack in /packs folder
2. Edit /packs/packs.js file (add your new pack)
3. Load the game, enable pack and rename one of NPC's to that pack name

Put the girl folder into the packs folder: /packs/Girl Name/

"my" action pack, gives about 20 times more images for the generic sex actions, to make them less repetitive.
