Arcade18 is a game in the genre of sissification and like all of these games it has what you would expect - Heavy railroading, the default player character archetype, and cocklust.
The cyberpunk world and style of Arcade18 is reminiscent of Secretary, down to the font. Even the writing style is almost identical. I wouldn't be surprised if Mizperix has also worked on Secretary but this game is (thankfully) not Secretary though it shares a lot of problems with Secretary that are a real bugbear for me with these sissification/feminization games. That problem is the disconnect between player character and the player and how it ultimately fails to provide a good resistant character. It also fails to provide proper incentives for grinding out your stats and boy is there grinding. But why are you grinding?
Let's talk about progression and how the missions play out and are written. Once choosing the pink bracelet the player character gets blackmailed by the Principle of his high school. She gives you missions and it's up to you, as the player to complete them. It's exactly the same as the teacher from Perverted Education. There is no difference to be found in her. She even takes your money when you refuse to comply to her whims by not wearing chastity or whatever. The story reasoning for her to do so is to get the player character to the top of the Arcade's leaderboard but right now the leaderboard is an empty placeholder. Anyway, in the starting missions you get resisting options like, refusing to buy panties, just do the minimum to shave, etc. and that's great. I love it. Even the porn options allow the player to choose whether the player character will focus on the girl or the cock though as far as I can tell it does nothing right now. It shows a somewhat realistic portrayal of a character that is put into a situation that is in over their head and gives ownership of the character to the player.
However, at some point those options go away and then worst of all, all character internal monologues switch to full on acceptance. They have become the same character that is in all of these feminization games. All of these games feature the same protagonist. It's always an oblivious person that was, unbeknownst to them, in the closet but with a subtle or not so subtle prod (through blackmail usually) will turn from an ugly duckling (read "man") into a beautiful bimbo swan. Forget the blackmail and abuse, it was for the character's own good, they just didn't know better. They will always have the best orgasm of their life from their first anal stimulation... or having their nipples played with... or getting spanked... or smelling/touching/tasting a cock. I hate it. Anyway, at that point it is no longer the player's character but the writer's character and the game ceases to be a game and turns into a linear story with extra clicks in which the character only has one path - that of full submission to their blackmailer.
Gaining exp after getting to level 10 is not really properly incentivized outside of putting the character into more radical sexual scenarios for the enjoyment of the player. The player character himself has no reason to: visit the stocks, rent-a-friend, use chems, or really do anything and the quests don't acknowledge that the character did those things. It's like there are two different games being made here. One is an open world kind of game where you can do whatever you want to raise your experience bar and the other is a linear visual novel that does not check what happens in the freeroam portion.
Other things that bugged me as I played was being unable to remove makeup and whatnot after doing it but I'm thinking that has more to do with how it functions like the hair growth mechanic. Over time it will just fade. Another is the hypnotist/psychiatrist that is always all powerful in these games. With one session the character desires to and becomes comfortable with wearing female clothing in public and there is no resistance. Look, if the hypnotist can do that with one session then the rest of the player character's sexual awakening doesn't need to happen. They can just snap their fingers and through their hypnotist magic they can become a full on sissy bimbo. It's bad every time. It's a poor mechanic even in games where the player is on the giving end. Imagine if you will that the player on the first meeting can make their target the perfect sex slave. It's dull! It's like playing god mode on the easiest difficulty.
At the end of the day, it's a solid sissification story with all the usual caveats, tropes, and flaws but like Secretary, style goes a long way and this game has style. For the record there is another dominant path but it's not very fleshed out so I won't cover it here.
