Crypto has such an awful reputation that I can't really see it being mainstream ever. I can however see it becoming more used for adult purchases as anonymity is key.
I would expect something stable to be used such as USDT or a BRICS-sanctioned cryptocurrency. Businesses that have used e.g. Bitcoin or Ethereum in the past have had problems with the absurd volatility. I couldn't see an untethered/unbacked cryptocurrency succeeding realistically at this point as a currency (as again the general public has an immense distrust towards crypto).
