Greetings,
Arisushi here :)

1000011316.jpg

For the vast majority who don't know me, I'm the writer of One Night Stand, The Best Days of our Lives, Zia, and a few other VNs.

I'll be using this thread as my dedicated space for erotica - where I primarily share about any interesting erotica I come across or enjoyed. (And maybe post some occasional side-projects I worked on.)

Starting off this endeavor, we have the continuation of One Night Stand.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

You can find the 2nd part of the story, "One More Night", in the attachment below.

I look forward to hearing your feedback, opinions, and reactions. :)

ENTRY #01 - APR 7, 2024

I'm happy to present to you (a Frankenstein's monster like draft of) my comic, Marguerite.

Marguerite is a tragedy of sorts set in a mafiaesque backdrop, where I took on the challenge of tackling some dark themes and tropes, while still treating the lead with my usual sincerity (rather than making her just a vehicle for tragedy & depravity.)

Check out the pdf in the attachment and share your thoughts on the manga/comic.

---

The journey of Marguerite...

ENTRY #02 - MAY 14, 2024

Alright, I'm broke, jobless, and have one short night's worth of break before getting back to writing more visual novel projects (that I hope will win me some bread.)

So, I figured I'll share My Top 5 "Abandoned" Visual Novels on this site.

Games that I personally enjoyed, but sadly couldn't reach their proper ending (and in one case, didn't even make it to its second update.)

Obviously, this list is subjective and caters purely to my own preferences. With that out of the way, let's jump right into it.

So, there you have it. My top favorite abandoned games on this site.

If anyone's actually following this thread (and happened to read this post), I'd love to hear what your favorite abandoned games are.

Until next time :)

Sorry to hear about your struggles. I hope things will get better soon.

Off the top of my head, Reluctant Archon for its incredible worldbuilding and Deviancy for its unmatched humour.

From your list, I've only ever heard of High Life. If I recall correctly, the game was abandoned because the dev died, right? Which was the scene that was so magical for you?

Thank you.

Yeah, they're probably lesser known for a reason. While I love them a lot, I wouldn't actively recommend them to anyone (except my own game of course )

I've seen both the games you mentioned while searching for stuff. I love both world building and humor. So, I'll probably check them out. (bookmarked them to play later)

--

Oh! I always imagined the High Life team just moved on to some actual "paying" projects. Seeing how skilled they are. That's actually really sad if true.

---

The moment was this little sequence where they're signing each other's shirts for farewell, one of Eleanor's friend's brother shows up, she and her friends all talk about the whole thing while on the bus.

That part just perfectly captured the fleeting, inconsequential, (and yet beautiful) nature of the high-school / college days for me.

ENTRY #03 - MAY 29, 2024

I can't believe it's already the end of May, and (with the exception of the titles I've already been following) I haven't a played a single proper VN this year.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

So, after quite the few hours of searching, here are 5 VNs I'm planning to play and complete (or catch up to the latest update) before the end of the 2024.

Often vouched as a classic, I've been told by one of my most favorite youtubers that Doukyuusei, while being a regular dating sim, brings a very strong sense of realness to its love interests and there is nothing more I want from my Visual Novels.

---

2. Covenant of Morn

I love me some good fantasy involving magic, witches, mysteries, etc. (I'm the writer of Zia and Twin Eclipse, duh.)

While I've always wanted to try Mist, for some reason I always got overwhelmed by it. (Probably has something to do with the sandbox, rpg, turn-based combats tags)

So, when I saw the same creators have started a new game revolving around similar themes, I figured this would be a great time to get into their work.

---

3. Zero End

"Zero End is a paranormal mystery inspired by things like Hellblazer, World of Darkness, Divi-Dead, Creepypasta, and grimoire magic among others."

I'm Sold.

This might turn out to be a total hit or miss, but what's a VN list without some steamy debauchery involving a hot looking lead?

---

5. Bare Witness

Lastly, an entry to keep things simple and straightforward.

The models look great, the game has very positive reviews, and is marked as completed.

I'll give it a try.

---
And that's all the VNs I plan to complete this year folks.

(Of course, I'll be checking out some random games here and there, but not with the intent of completing them at all costs.)

I'll see if I can post some kind of bi-weekly or monthly updates, talking about my progress and experience with this games. That way, I can keep myself on my toes. But for now, this is goodbye.

ENTRY #04 - JUN 08, 2024

In the last entry, I said I'll try to drop by once every two weeks and share updates on my progress with my "Visual novels I plan to complete / catch up to this year".

If I knew setting a goal like this would help me play more VNs, I would have done it ages ago.

I'm happy to announce that in the span of 10 days, I managed to catch up to the most recent updates of both "Covenant of Morn" and "Tales from the Deep : Eve".

Granted, both are fairly short at the moment. But considering how I've barely played VNs this year, I'll take this as a huge win.

What's NOT a win though, is the fact that I absolutely hated playing one of these games.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Following that abysmal experience, is the game I was most intrigued about.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

That's all the update for now. And I'm excited to talk about whatever game of the remaining three I end up trying next.

Until then, it's goodbye from Arisushi.

ENTRY #05 - JUN 20, 2024

I don't know how, but this two week window seems to be passing by faster and faster with each turn.

Starting off with,

However, I'm happy to announce that...

So, that's everything for now... and considering how I'm in no hurry to pick up the remaining two series for now, I might try something completely new.

Or... I might make another list / ranking of sorts.

Or... I might even start going weekly, and do both - one after the other.

Until then, take care.

I understand withholding information for the sake of a huge reward later, but if you're going to keep the audience in darkness, you need to give them something else to be distracted by/engaged with until the reveal.
Reading this now, what's absolutely hilarious to me is the fact that - I've heard these exact same words being told about one of my own works.

In a way, I'm simultaneously understanding both the developers of this game and those who had the same complaints about my own game. And it's a really strange feeling.

ENTRY #06 - JUL 06, 2024

Man, I'd love to go back in time, meet the guy who wrote the previous post, and punch him in the face for thinking he could actually make weekly posts here. (Life's hard.)

Anyways, we're half-way past 2024, and since I don't have time to write the long-winded posts I really want to, I figured I'd just share my top 5 (kinda, but not really) erotic artworks I liked the most so far in this year instead.

And that's the end of this list (and the entry). I hope you liked at least one of the artwork above.

Also, if you're okay with it, I'd love to see any of the artworks (erotic or otherwise) you liked a lot this year.

Until next time :)

Good to have you back!

  • Nationalistic art never felt right with me, regardless of the nation, so I'll avoid commenting on #5.
  • I like your life-affirming take on #4! I immediately went with the more cynical view, which is par for the course :)
  • Like most Marvel/DC stuff, not my thing at all.
  • Oh, what a beautiful piece! You described it well - nothing sexier than a bunch of dainty, slender women gathered, smiling conspiratorially :)
  • Quite the wholesome take on Mardi Gras, and yes, the balcony makes it perfect!

Btw: It really throws me off when long-time users change their forum avatars :p

It's nice to be back here (and share stuff I normally can't talk about elsewhere.)

I totally understand the aversion towards both nationalistic tones and mainstream superhero comic stuff. (Not a big fan of the former myself either.)

Truer words have never been said :giggle:

Yeah, even I got a little confused a few times, when I couldn't see the familiar woman with the hat.

But changing that image was my feeble attempt at feeling like I have some kind of control over my life. (And, honestly, I think it actually helped me just a teensy bit.)

Even the smallest bit of help can matter a lot, so good for you. The new picture is already growing on me anyway :)

Did a bit of digging. The artist is on Twitter.
Wow!! Thanks. Instantly followed(y)

(But now I'm a little confused how I even happened across their work, as I haven't seen or interacted with their art on any of my usual spaces.o_O

Oh well, here's to happy accidents :))

ENTRY #07 - JUL 28, 2024

It's a little annoying that the gaps between each entry keeps getting longer & longer. But I do have some actual VN stuff to talk about this time. So, that should count as something.

First, I found a VN, that I really enjoyed a lot, called Origin Story.

At its core, it's the same old male fantasy, often found on this site, where every girl likes the mc and gives him complete freedom to not just fuck herself but also other girls. HOWEVER...

1. The way that the mc bonds with each of the girls is genuinely fun and engaging. Not only that, each of the said girls also feel clearly distinct from one another, making their interactions feel pretty diverse. Also, get this... there's actual growth & understanding displayed in the process.

(Just ignore the place-holder family members though. Those two just suck. But even there, some very sinister hints have been dropped, making you question whether it's just basic erotic nonsense we usually see, or if they're actually a villain in the story.)

2. The super powers angle of this VN is really well done. Once again, it deals with the regular power fantasy, but also offers enough mysteries and twists (later on) to keep you hooked.

To put it short, though this game is made with the primary focus of "giving the player as many erotic encounters as possible", it also really goes out of its way to make the story and the characters feel as entertaining as possible.

And it's been a really long time since I had a genuinely good time with a such a "horny" toned game.

---

For the second half of this post, we have the once great Our Red String.

Eva Kiss is in the absolutely unenviable position of working on a game that has turned into this insanely complex web of stories, each big enough to be its own separate game.

So, I have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for anything she puts out for this VN.

But, having played the most recent version of the game tonight, I've finally come to accept what I've been feeling for over a year now.

Most of the character journeys in the game has fizzled out big time.

Cindy & Ian, Lena & Seymour, Lena & Holly, Perry & Emma are the only pairings that offer any form of interest to me now.

Every other pairing has either already reached their "peak" moment, with nothing new to offer from hereon, or... just turned into an offensively stereotypical dynamic that lacks any kind of nuance or subtlety.

Instead of being about how relationships grow, ORS has purely become a cross of "What sex scene should be added next" and "I'm unsure where to take the story next". To me, that's just heartbreaking.

And the only reason I'm saying this out loud is because, almost no one reads this thread, and those who do read it are smart enough to not let my opinions color their views on the game.

Still, I want to end this by talking about the positives of the game I used to love so much. So, here are the main reasons why I love the above listed pairings.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

With that, I'm leaving to get some much needed shut eye. But if you too play (or used to play) ORS, I'd absolutely love to know how you feel about the VN now.

Until next time :)

Agreed on ORS, especially with your pairings sans Seymour. His path sounds interesting by your definition, though it just feels too slimy to play. Perhaps I'll give it a go one day.

On their own, I'd say Lena & Holly have reached their peak with this recent update.. However, if you're on a route where Ian is not (yet) a part of their sexual lives, but is a good friend
Do you mean that there is a Lena & Holly scene only if they're in a three-way with Ian? If so, that sucks :(

Yeah, Seymour's actions on his own are 100% slimey. There is no doubt about it.

In short, I wouldn't really recommend checking out their interactions again (at least not yet).

But with the upcoming business trip with Seymour, I think their relationship will be locked in for good. (And I desperately hope it turns out to be something I can actually recommend to others.)

Oh, no, no. We are actually teased with one of the most romantic moments in the game so far with Holly and Lena.

But, since this update ends on Ian's POV, we're not privy to what actually happened after he leaves them alone.

The next update (Shown from Lena's Pov) should allow players to experience their chemistry in full glory :) So, definitely look forward to that pairing.

That's a damn shame. That pairing was what I wanted most from this "beach episode", which got split into multiple releases, none of which with that scene. Oh, well :)
