VN - Ren'Py - Artemis [v0.6.2b] [digi.B]

It's definitely a 5/5 visual novel, but mileage may vary on if its a perfect adult visual novel. The story, characters, and plot are excellent.

The model quality is a bit off putting at the start, but is improved quite a lot as the story goes on. The adult content skews toward being quite vanilla and staid, and while the game doesn't enforce strict monogamy, you'll start having to pick between routes as you get to the later content, inherently missing some content.

The render quality later on is really quite good, and the characters and writings largely make up for any short comings if you're the sort that is playing for the plot.

awesome story, funny dialogue, good progression not bad minigames just 1 thing tho maybe don't close up branches just enable them in a friend way if u r not gonna go with the harem option (which am guessing u r not)

I'll say up front that sex scenes are the most important part of an AVN for me. While Artemis had a great story and characters, I didn't find the sex scenes very...satisfying. Thus, my overall Average rating.

I was optimistic after seeing the first sexy scenes in the game which included:

• Fully animated (motion) scenes.
• The ability to revisit positions before ending the scene.
• Very attractive partners.
• Good body type range (except small breasted...but as I'm not a fan of that type, not a negative for me).

Unfortunately, as I played the game, my hope of improved and more fully developed sex scenes never realized. My complaints include:

• No sound effects or sounds of pleasure from the females.
• Many of the scenes in the early chapters were sped up to unrealistic speeds that made the body physics look fake.
• No camera angle control
• In later chapters, a new method to create the scenes made the characters look different, breaking immersion.
• Full sex scenes were rare, averaging 1 per chapter.
• As you progress through the game, the sex scenes become shorter and shorter.

To this last point, I understand it took a very long time to put out chapter 6. I can't help but wonder if the sex scenes were cut down to save time. Either way, the sex scenes were very disappointing overall.

The story, however, is very interesting. I would have liked tighter integration with the sorority girls (which may happen through the business relationship). As it is, the interactions with those girls feel like just booty calls. Artemis...is adorable. Developer nailed that on the head.

If you are looking for a fun story with very light weight sex scenes, I would recommend this game. I would be interested in watching the rest, but it sounds like it will be many years before the developer finishes this story.

An excellent VN, absolutely loved it and left me wanting more!! The visuals, characters, writing and story are all brilliant and a breath of fresh air.

I'm currently on Chapter 2 and I have to say that I really like the game—the story is captivating and the character models are really great. Keep up the good work—it's really fun to play.

God tier game. The character writing is impeccable, the MC is one of my favorite MMCs in any game, not just AVNs. I'm genuinely in love with this game, I will glaze it till I die. Also the humor is very on point for a somewhat serious game.

I m sorry DEV but the robotic faces and the Psyco expressions of the models are unbearable. I tried, i really tried to like this game, but i just can t. The animations are better but still.. I cannot cope with this kind of models..Good luck and sorry.

Most uncanny valley game I've ever seen. Girls (look fine but nothing special) all look like they're screaming in my face during conversations. Ease up on the expressions eh.

Doesn't help that the renders are FULL of artifacting. No thank you

I reserve judgment to edit this later on but man... I feel it would be unfair to rate it anything other than 5.
Story is pretty cool. Characters are great. Even Mc - not that I generally care about them a lot - but it's an ok dude. Girls are not just pretty but interesting personality-wise. Sure there seems to be a certain bias body type-wise - on the curvy side, geometrically too perfect, not a lot of skin texture (as it's often the case) - so dolls, pretty much all of them - not necessarily my cup of tea, but it's executed really well.
There's just a nice amount of tension in the story, good villains that are not cartoony dumb. I feel I am not supposed to, but I find villain lady very hot.
Main menu animation as of 0.6.1, man, normally I say I don't care, focus on the game, but that's some of the best if not the best facial expressions ever I seen in an AVN. Fantastic work.
If I wanted to say something negative, sexual scenes are a bit rare and very simple and short, but the story and interactions with the characters almost make up for all that. I'm curious how the relationships will develop between Mc and girls, so far so good, could improve and deepen slightly but I also see how keeping casual may be an advantage to allow a more natural fuckfest which I fully take advantage of.
Curious how this goes on, hoping for a great continuation and completion.

I have to say, this is as good as Eternum. One of the best AVN I've ever played.
Yes there's some porn scene in this game, but more than anything, the story is captivating, and the models are really hot.
Some conversation about AI are also really interesting. Keep it up dev!

Extremely well-made game. The amount of quality that goes into the renders is insane. The first chapter may feel a little dated renderwise, but it's almost astonishing the jump in quality between chapters.

The story and character writing is beautiful. I think that in the world of AVNs/VNs, if you can write a character to have a substantial personality beyond the main character, you've already done a crazy good job. I think that in these kinds of games specifically, if you can write platonic/complex relationships into the story, and make people care about them more than even the ones that the main character can be romantically invested in, you've gone above and beyond. This game manages to do both things fantastically, and is one of it's main strengths. The story wasn't what I expected. When I read the synopsis, I was expecting tons of corporate espionage and a sort of boring futuristic dystopian sort of theming. To me, this game is less about the technology side of things, and more about what it means to be human. It also incorporates some aspects of college with sororities and such, which may seem out of left field for most people, but actually makes it far more interesting in my opinion.

My personal gripe with the game is something that can be interpreted both as a good and bad thing. There's almost too many love interests. The game's story tries to include everyone at a time and it can backfire at some points when the paths you choose will diverge and you may not see a character that was in previous updates for almost 2+ years. The good thing is that the developer has clearly dedicated an unimaginable amount of time to making sure that every scenario with these girls will feel meaningful and worthy of your time.

The sex scenes are not the biggest strength of the game. I acknowledge that the renders and animations are great, but these scenes aren't made with solely eroticism and sexiness in mind. I think it's more to the game's strength that the writing itself lends such a good atmosphere and puts you into the mentality of these characters, that it leads to the sex scenes feeling more authentic than cheap flings or 2 hour sex scenes with 100,000 lines of exposition about different positions and such.

Amazing game, can't recommend it enough. I was shocked that I didn't play it for the past 3 years I've been on the site. Be forewarned that story updates take a VERY long time. Despite this, the developer still updates their audience consistently on their progress and have really amazing work that makes it worth the wait.

This game, man. The production value is seriously insane, my potato pc sometimes LAGGED in a Ren'py game, because there are so many animations (it's a praise to the game, and a fck you to my computer lol). The characters are all really good, the sorority thing was kinda out of the left field, but i get that it was used to introduce us to a lot of LIs. Even with that, it feels sometimes like Kindra is the true MC of the story. It feels so canon. She keeps captivating the player with her main girl vibes, and she has more content than anyone else by far.

- The writing could be really2 good/excellent (for tech/sci-fi theme) , however the entire hazing stuff for the sorority kind of huge turn off/unfitting for the premise or the sorority girls (esp like Zelda & naomi). (My own personal opinion ofc)
- Render quality is a bit rough/inconsistent (but only for early episodes) however the animations are amazing & truly high quality, one of the bests for sure.
- I like & enjoy the minigames (such Reina dancing minigames, the party freeroam quests & such), I love the mechanics of how we build up RP points & stuffs.
- UI are very well designed & the musics/sounds are pretty cool

Honestly really like almost everything that's here. My main issue has to do with decisions. Choices in previous chapters, having too high relationship, not having enough points, can lock you out of a character route completely. So save often.

Also feels like the INK girls aren't really being paced very well. They start to feel like an after thought the deeper in the story you go. Feels like maybe the girls could have been introduced more paced out and from other means. The sorority kinda feels out of place for the story since MC isn't even in college.

Lewd scenes can be scarce but story and dialogue are well written enough you don't feel like skipping. However, most only have a few animations, but they are well made. No sound either unfortunately.

Very excited to see where this goes. Hopefully avoids issues most decision heavy VNs end up having in their later versions.

Reasons to play Artemis:

- one of the best written stories in AVN
- interesting scifi setting
- high quality renders
- great characters (each LI has their own specific personality )
- meaningful choices
- polished UI

Absolutely fantastic, characters are actually enjoyable to interact with, decisions (even minor fun ones) have impact even on unimportant things only in s-scenes. One of the best virtual novels I've ever played absolute must play 5/5.

Initially I had hard time adjusting to the goofball MC, but around chapter 2-3 I think author found nice balance where silly moments are less frequent and better timed, letting them shine even more by contrast while not detracting from overall story.

I mean it as an absolute praise: you could remove adult aspects from this visual novel and it would still be extremely engaging.

Characters and Story (10/10):
The story starts off a little slow and can be a bit confusing at first, but it quickly picks up the pace. The characters are well-written, each with distinct personalities that make them stand out. Every girl feels unique, and the story brings it all together beautifully. The balance between humor and drama is handled well throughout. The main plot kept me hooked, constantly curious and wanting more.

Sex (9/10):
The animations could use some improvement, but they’re still enjoyable. Believe it or not, this is more of a story-driven game, but that doesn’t mean the sex scenes are bad. Most of them feel well-earned. You don’t just jump into sex with every character you meet — there's a natural progression. You date, you kiss, and overall, it’s a very satisfying experience.

• faces are a little rough in the beginning but get better
• the renders can feel inconsistent where a character will look gorgeous in one frame and really strange in another (I'd say the exception to this is Artemis herself - she looks absolutely incredible, the facial animations are stunning)

Story - 10/10

• fantastic concept that hooks you, the theme of AI is well thought out and explored in an interesting way
• great writing that keeps you engaged

NSFW content - 6/10

• animations aren't great
• body types are pretty limited - pretty much everyone has gigantic balloon boobs

Characters - 10/10

• really thoughtful and distinct characters
• they feel original - no stepmom inserts here!
• MC can feel a bit too snarky/sarcastic but is otherwise charming

Overall experience - 9/10

• Cant wait to see whats next, dev seems to be taking his time and putting a lot of work into it (which is great, it really pays off)
