Okay proving my ignorance here but hey ho ... I had a post deleted and it said ask in thread how do I do that ? please

Hard to say not having more information. But it probably means ask whatever you did in the proper thread, so if say it was a question about a specific game, ask in it's game thread. That's usually why I say it.
