I'm looking for games similar to Eternum in terms of both animation quality and character development, as well as overall storytelling. It was actually my first “lewd” game - I started it expecting just pure porn, but I ended up staying for the story, characters, and humor. I honestly didn’t think any adult visual novel could surprise me like that.
Since I really enjoy BDSM themes and “office siren” type characters, I picked up Pale Carnation as my second choice. However, I quickly bounced off it - the premise and themes are really good, but the characters, the main protagonist, and the stiff animations just didn’t work for me at all.
My next try was Race is Life, since I was looking for something with equally great, dynamic animations, and I saw a lot of positive reviews. While the animation quality is indeed impressive, the story, on the other hand, is extremely shallow, and the characters are painfully boring. At some point, I found myself mindlessly skipping through scenes just to move forward - and I didn’t miss a thing, because the characters tend to ramble about nothing and repeat the same lines over and over just to keep the dialogue going.
Long story short, I’m looking for something with excellent storytelling, engaging characters, and high-quality animations, ideally on par with Eternum.
