his "creative juices are a bit depressed". Bend me over and fuck me hard. I don't know that much about the process behind making a game but I thought that the writing part would done a long time ago. If he intended to do a release 6 weeks ago you would think the script was written by now.

im a programmer and developer and I know the struggles around it.
i set goals, and that i like to share with my team, im enthusiastic and in that moment im 100% honest about it and i really want to achieve my goals. but that doesn't mean i can reach it, sometimes my motivation is low and i need to "pause". sometimes life want something else, sometimes theres an obstacle that consume me and all my inspirations flushes down the toilet.

im not defending YT, im defending the amateur developer and that the circumstances need to be optimal for us to work well. some do have a good strategy and are successful, some have obstacles that can obliterate them.
a developer need inspiration and some challenges, but not too much. we also need support, that you believe in us, even if we produce one tiny update, that update could be "huge" for us, a little step forward, a needed step. and if we only get negative feedback, that tiny update became something bad, unwanted and unneeded. how can we then get then needed inspiration and energy to take another step forward?

no, YT have done mistake, we all have. but in the end, nobody will feel good about all the negativity. especially not YT. constructive criticism is good, everything else is bad. saying that, im not a perfect dude, i can also get frustrated and badmouth developers (such as Impure), but thats another story, the context around that is dishonesty and cheating. YT have been good in that area and try to do good and only want reward when he deserve it. lets congratulate him for that and give him positivity so that he can come out from the bad and make this game.

damn, it's sad to hear that his father passed away, especially because I think that Yummy is a good hearted man.
I know him now for 2 years, I was always interested in his game because I have a very similar vision of hrpg like him and the demo/prologue were great. That's why I always criticized him, I wanted him to succeed, to be a established hrpg developer.
For the future I will stop to talk about his game.
Yummy if you read this: my deepest condolences to you and your family.

Sad how a family member passes. Then again, life goes on. Nothing you can do about the past besides remember and such. Got to move on with life. Anyway, my condolences to you and your family Yummy.

*Goes to wait a month for the possible next update.*

"What to expect in the first half of the month:
2. Man-in-Black's introduction and first developer tutorial (He sent me the final version last weekend, but I asked him to add an introduction segment to the beginning)"

While i can understand the reasoning behind the delay for the 0.11 update this month, I fail to see any legitimate reasons behind the delay for a simple introduction. This is not something yummy created, he just had to POST IT.

Oh well, nothing new or unexpected here. I'm starting to think that this delays are all part of YT's fetish. I don't know if his father passed away or not, I'm not one to put in question his words in regards to that matter, however this delay is just a small peble in a large river of delays. I guess some have feet fetishes others have delay fetishes...

I might be wrong and correct me if I'm wrong but I'd be super amazed if at least half of this actually gets released:

"What to expect in the second half of October:

1. The next Aylia's Story release

2. The first higher resolution artwork pack (1024x768)

3. MiB's introduction and preliminary dev tutorial (He sent it to me in early October, but I've not had time to look it over, edit it, and post it).#"

Im just glad I dropped my pledge and forgot about this game 2 months ago. Cause it seems that the game is in the same freaking state since then and yummy keeps saying same thing over and over, he is a good man, no doubt, he is just a terrible profesional

Status of Aylia's Story:

Prologue is still done and no more revamping, all chapter 1 maps are in place for the next release (including two new smaller maps), the main quest lines are in place and ready to go, all quest board side quests are ready to go, standing portraits for the rivals, Aylia, and Bogwort were finalized and height adjusted for consistency (Bogwort is short again).
I don't exactly get what's left to do, then. I mean, YT never explained the exact state of the game, but from this post it looks like it's actually ready to go.

I figured it'd be "ready to go" after .10, until he started breaking it down into very small updates and I don't think theres been an updated release since.

I'm sure that when it will be out it will have at least twice as much content as any finished game in its one chapter \m/

YT right now has no motivation to release something. Apart from the recent things that happened to him and to his family, YT is almost 3 years late on his first release date...and since on his patreon 80% of the people keep saying "go YT, take your time!" when he announce yet another delay, he will keep taking his sweet time. If his patrons started to really bash him for missing tons of release date, maybe we could have something to play, right now. There is a fine line between being supportive and being a fanboy. I stopped supporting him (with words) more than a year ago, 'cause it was useless, and started criticize his work ethic. He even started to recognize me and my nickname 'cause I was always trying to prove my point about his poor dev choices on patron, on ulmf and even here, from time to time. I get that he's not asking for money so who cares, but still, if people really want to see a goddamn release that isn't a revamped prologue again, maybe they should consider that until they keep going all sweet on YT, he will never release anything. He's almost 3 years late, why things should change right now?

You do realize that the patreon is by major game update. meaning that in the year that I have made my pledge, YT hasn't gotten a dime from me?

Thta's the point of what I was saying. YT has absolutely no motivation to release anything if people who support him on patreon keep saying this. I'm a supporter of YT and his work, but that doesn't mean we should forgive 2.5+ years of wait just 'cause we didn't give him money. If a developer fucks up thing THIS bad, people should tell him. And I'm not saying we should go grab fork and torch and start hunting him, but MAYBE consider that the "take your time YT!" approach isn't working at all.
Obviously this isn't the answer to all of this problem, 'cause YT could simply ignore all the people who will say this, but it could be a interesting development on the...development of his game.
My opinion, of course. Not trying to order you how you should act, but I hope this may be an interesting opinion (and quite different from the others) on the matter.
