You need to have at least one scene with each main character before you can avoid them. It's a choice I made to better tell the story without the need to track in each situation which character MC is in a relationship.

The options in interactive scenes are displayed based on some variables. If you edit any of them, you may cause the menu to disappear just like in your image.

The car store becomes available on the left sidebar sometime on day 13. After this point, you can open it anytime, but before this, you can't buy or change cars.
