What version of the game is extremely relevant to your request in which you seek.
Just between pre-reboot 15.0-15.494 with 19 different iterations and post reboot v15.50-15.53 with 8 different iterations both having known saves issues that are not cross compatible even within some of the patches-updates iterations.
It is far from a one save to save them all situation.
