VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Bare Witness [Steam Build] [AlterWorlds]

Excellent writing, music and character models. The characters feel real and relateable, the scenarios plausible if slightly fantastical. The plot flows smoothly and hints at being more than just your average harem fuck fest. Up there with the best of F95's visual novels. Can't wait to see where this takes us!

Great game. Loved the second update which had a lot of content. Definitely worth the wait. The girls look good, have fun characters and the lewd scenes are really good. The game is fast paced, so won't leave you hanging, which in my opinion is a good thing.

Played v0.2 and this on catched me off guard, being surprisingly good.
There is a fair amount of content considering the development time.

The Characters are well written, interesting and different in character and appearance.
The biggest selling point for me however are the sexscenes. After playing a fair amount of games on here, there arent many anymore, that really get me. The few secenes in this game at the moment, have imo the right length, spiciness and set up and one in particular i would count to the best on this site.
The only downside i could see in future updates is the relatively fast development with certain characters.

Tldr: Overall at the moment the game is right for you, if you are down to immerse yourself for a short time in a lighthearted story with well written charaters and if it keeps up the quality in 2-3 versions its probably a must play. Cheers

I really like how the story is progressing, the sense of mystery really adds to it. A good amount of content for only 2 chapters. Looking forward to the next one!

I was surprised to see Mira here from three rules of life, lol. Now it is obvious that Mira has many badass friends around her.

The game is okay, emo girl looks fine but I'm not really into threesome with lesbian so I'll pass on that one. Other characters are quite unique in appearance but with lack of personalities.

really nice looking game with an interesting premise and some well written characters. Introduced a lot of characters in the 1st chapter and not all were developed as deeply as the roommates, but I'm sure that will be remedied moving forward. Looking forward to seeing where this goes

Full disclosure - I am a long time friend of Slockie (one of the devs) and when he told me he made a porn game I couldn't believe it, I thought he was kidding. I kinda made fun of him for a bit, but when I actually sat down and played it I was amazed. I didn't think a porn game could be as captivating as it is,. The storytelling from the other dev (Storm, I think it is) is really really good. The writing is phenomenal and the pictures look really good. The girls (especially Mora and Zenda) are super cute. I like the fact that it's essentially a choose your own adventure novel, meaning that the choices you make actually have consequences. The music was really good and worked well with what was happening in the story. I can't wait to see how this story unfolds in the future, and hope we can get some more backstory with the MC and why he's in the situation he's in. Bravo Slockie and Storm.

I had heard a lot about this game from others and was super excited to check it out. Well, it didn’t disappoint. The writing/music/renders/characters all combine to create a great game so far. I’m really excited to see where this story goes even though I think I have an idea. Athena and Heidi are so damn cute together, I’m really hoping for a nice throuple ending with them in the future, or maybe even an ending with Val! Will definitely be following closely and will update my review as we get more content, keep it up dev!

It's always a delicate and difficile matter to review a v0.1—but it's itching in my fingers to write something about this game. I am honestly astonished by the overwhelmingly positive reviews—not that this game is a bad one—but I didn't find any exquisite, or extraordinary, qualities about it.
The writing is enjoyable, nothing good or something to keel over, but above average. (Like the author still has to find his own style.) The premise isn't outstanding, and I would even consider it bland at this point, but that's prolly my personal taste. I am most likely once again speaking out of my own taste, but the only sex scene at this point feels kinda forced, and is, on top of that, ruined with a grain of realism that isn't really necessary. What I found most annoying was the MC: mostly due to the fact that he didn't feel like a character or individual but a stencil for the player to self-insert into because he doesn't have any outstanding qualities, at all. The “cliffhanger” at the end didn't catch me at all, because of the lack of the overall tension within the story, it felt kinda out of place.
The renders are okay—the first release contained around 500 renders, something very remarkable—, some look rather sloppy, but it redeems itself with having probably the cutest and best-looking redhead I've ever seen in a AVN.

BW definitely has potential, but only time will tell if it can improve on said points—I am ready to support it if it can improve on said points. Otherwise it remains an average game, at least for me, but it's nonetheless worth a shot.

I briefly know both Storm and Slockie from my time working with the team on the AVN College Kings and they're pretty chill guys to be around.

Now for the verdict that will make them both sweat?

This AVN is a split job between Slockie whom does the rendering, whiles Storm writes the script dialogue. From my initial observations based upon
what is currently available and from the exposure I know of both of them beforehand I can confirm that they clearly work well as a pair.
Slockies quick understanding on how to use Daz clearly shows and is not holding back any punches when it comes to creating visuals for the game.
The renders are beautifully done and aside from the minor suggestions/tweaks id recommend they are very well done to a high degree of elegance.
Slockie has made good use of camera perspective, lighting (beautifully done) as well as depth of field, all that makes a difference when it comes to any
AVN. What am most impressed with visual wise is the consideration to detail that was made regarding camera perspectives. I think that Slockie might have taken a page or two out of what would be learnt in film studies for this (I previously having done that as one of my majors at college).

As for Storm and his script (drum rolls and Storm begins to sweat). From what have read so far I can clearly see that Storm has given a lot of consideration into how each of the characters would talk/portray themselves. Really effectively gives of the vibe that no two characters are the same aka a copy and paste. Storms pronunciation along with his choice of wording/phrases as well at this early stage cleverly thought out dialogue and situation awareness really is making a good first impression. Both of them have clearly taken the time to really get into the shoes of their characters and protagonist, which is hard to praise any more.

So far from the character exposures, there is one character especially that I am all eager to see more off. As for all the other characters so far they are
all beautifully done (even if by my preferences id lean towards one of them over others). Lets just say a certain blush sealed the deal for me on who I would love to pursue. I wonder who hmmm? At this current time there is little "music" that is in the game or lack of any sound effects (not a killer if that is what you're asking me as sound effects are not essential). From the music choices that they have chosen they work pretty well universal and is something I could have in the background even when doing my own work heh for motivation.

What I like the most probably is the way that as quick as it starts the flow and pacing of the story and the character "settling" into his new environment really is well done. Probably what I like most out of this AVN is the pacing as that is more key to me than anything else. Could have the best visuals in the world but if the pacing of the story is off then sorry big thumbs down. So you did really well on what id personally say is the hardest thing to do.

Now is too early id say to sing the omg high praises or the down lows so I don't want either of them getting too hyped or full of themselves over my place holder review. This review will be pending to change and i'll call them out on anything that I will have a problem with as the game progresses. Also I have made sure not to let me initial acquaintance with them cloud my feedback. BUT based on what I see so far. Yes it is not the best AVN out there but as a clear competitor to my own working AVN I welcome the competition from these two with open arms happily and proudly. I do see though that "IF" this game continues not only at its current rate of quality but pushes its boundaries more for the better (as we can ALWAYS improve no matter what) then this game has the obvious potential of being on the podium among the clear contenders for the most popular and best developed AVN's out there.

There’s a decent amount of content despite it being released a week ago. The girls are all beautiful, although Zenda and Valeria are my two favorites, both know exactly what they want and they go for it. Renders are great which is partnered with great writing and story arcs. Very excited to see where this story goes!

I personally like the mystery plot on this story, Even from the first chapter from this game, I can figure out the plot of it (though I could be wrong, keep me guessing!) Although there are some issues with the rendering, all of it is fine by me.

Watching this thread/game development with great interest.

A school based game that isn't based around you being a student? That's refreshing! The story of this game is actually set up very well and has plenty of intrigue. The writing is good too, which is a bit of a rarity in AVNs.

The models are good, the one thing I'll critique is there is a few shots of the MC in some tighty-whities and... he needs to see a doctor, that shit is not right. The girls have more variety than most games and a girl with tattoos which is my weakness.

This one has been added to the pile of can't-wait-to-play-mores that I have. It's not a top tier game yet, but it has the potential to be. Good work.

Good solid start to the game with a good foundation in story, renders and character development. I give it a solid 4 stars, the only problem I have is the color of some of the fonts makes it really hard to read the text.

I will be watching this in the future to see where it goes.

This is a pretty strong first release where we mostly just get to know the girls. It's not overly short and sets the stage rather nicely.

The dev has done a great job at presenting natural spoken dialogues. They also did a nice job at keeping all the interactions quite grounded in reality. I will expand upon this in the next paragraph. All things considered, this is something that will definitely appeal to the majority of F95zone denizens that prefer the standard romance with a good natured MC that is apparently so charming that all girls will be drawn to him.

I tend to rate games based on what I perceive to be the dev's intentions and whether they succeed in delivering what they envisioned. For the most part, I believe they did a good job at following the standard formula for a college romance wish fulfillment type of game with a non rapey MC. That said, the strengths of this game are a bit of a double edged sword. The game does a great job at keeping everything realistic. We practice safe sex. There are incredible amounts of small talk as we get to know the girls. MC can't creep on girls with reckless abandon. These are certainly things people could appreciate. However, I couldn't help but feel rather bored by the whole thing. It's too mundane. Too realistic.

I won't rate it harshly for essentially being too vanilla for my tastes. I am pretty sure that this is exactly the formula the majority are into. Plus, there are nuggets in this chapter about a past drama and a cliff hanger to get that ball rolling. Perhaps the plot won't be so mundane after all?

Excellent first release. I enjoyed the game. I was curious and looked into the code and found out that we cannot use a particular name for the character. I wonder why can't MC be named with that particular name. The suspense is killing me. The renders are neat, and there are new girls in the game which I have not seen in other AVN's. The writing of the game is good too. The game also contains music. The best thing I've noticed in this game is the way the music has been added. I use a lot of rollbacks in Renpy games and have seen that when I roll back, the music stops playing or changes to a new one, and it gets a bit annoying. This game handles it perfectly well, and there aren't a lot of games that do this. I believe every game needs to end their update with suspense so that people can keep thinking over it, and we got an ending that creates a bit of suspense as to why the lady called MC with some other name, how she is related to MC. The playtime of the first release is between 20-40 minutes, which I believe is a decent amount of time for the first release.
