Seeking Battlefucks that play similarly to Megami Tensei?

Are there any battlefuck games that play similarly to games of the Megami Tensei franchise? While I refer mostly to the whole negotiation/recruitment system, feel free to recommend any other games you feel may have features/mechanics similar to Megami Tensei (be it fusion, press turn combat, social link-esque scenes, etc). The atmosphere of any recommended games doesn't really matter, any setting should work since I'm mainly referring to the 'combat'.
