VN - Ren'Py - Beast Control [v2.7.0] [Kiryuuco]

Story is... Barebones. Which is a bit contradictory with how some of the scene dialogue drags and drags on. Especially with Quinn.

While I knew it was coming from the previews it's still a bit disappointing how with every character's transformations the last part just ruins it for me. Full-out furry just isn't my cup of tea.

Review of the 2.3.0 Standard Version
For a linear-ish visual novel that uses AI art assets, the game is fairly decent. Though that's the biggest compliment I can give it.
The Good

• Quick, dirty, no-frills progression
• AI Art that is actually tolerable
• Variety when it comes to content options. TF, TG, mental changes, this has it all.

The Bad

• Arguably my biggest gripe is the invisible paywalls on some content options. Technically, it's pledging to the Patreon for getting a backer's build, but that's a distinction without difference. Nothing kills the sense of arousal quite like working through a series of scenes only for the game to go "Oops! You picked a thing that's locked behind a paywall!" Which is a bigger slap in the nuts than the game going "Oops, this option isn't implemented yet." The mere existence of the patron-locked options in the standard build is transparent dangling. If I wanted to get figuratively blueballed by paywalls, I would've just played [game I am not allowed to mention under Rule 2].

The Debatable

• The Beast Woman R63 content is what I consider the least titillating of all the available content.

When I first tried this my assumption was that it was going to be another quickly abandoned AI art game. I was proven wrong. The developer consistently updates and each update adds new story content and images. If you like TF stuff this is a great addition. The story is kind of non-existent, but the art is hot, the scenes are hot, and the writing is good enough. Can't wait for more updates.

Pretty disjointed and all over the map in gameplay. No narrative to speak of to tie together what is otherwise a random bunch of images. I can web browse Rule 34 DC characters just as easily. Not really even what I'd call a game, more like an interactive gallery of limited content.

The AI cg is good and thoughtfully used, not just single shot generated shit.
Raven cow is also nice.

The interface could be a bit better, you kind of have to guess which one to to next by going through all of it.

it's far from a masterpiece and aproaches subject i m not hot on : gay pics, loss of dom, sissification, (optionnal), but I find it hard to knock the pics (even the gayer ones).
I have a softspot for games with superheroes, you'll be better served playing : Something unlimited , but I believe this one deserves a fair "shake" somewhere around 3.5 stars.
amended: i really like the art.. AI or not it tickles me where i want to be tickled.

The art is low quality AI art, with a lot of repeats and no real consistency, the story is the same stuff you've seen a million times by now magical cum transforms girls into bimbos.

There isn't a whole lot of content, even more so for a 1.0.0 that stills feels like a demo with locked off content. Save your money since you'll need to to actually see the full content it seems, and what I image is 1 minute of content based on all the other scenes like it, you won't be missing much.

Unbearable, AI-CG characters change drawing style from picture to picture.
Pictures vary in quality and are sometimes cutouts and sometimes part of the background shows. Also the deadpan AI faces retract a lot from the immersion.
Backgrounds are mostly really bad AI generations.

When will creators understand that AI should only be used when it can't be noticed?

Storywise it seems thin but I don't really know. I can't even get into the story because of the lousy AI images.

Barely qualifies as a game right now. The concept is somewhat promising, but there's not a lot of content and the AI-generated art is a mess with no uniform style between the images.

Overall, not good nor bad...

Yes the game uses AI art but the dev have said that they are interested in getting an artist to do the art in the future.
Its not a game for everyone but its one i recommend you try atleast

the idea is pretty cool. but the execution leaves much to be desired. theres barely anything resembling much of a game atm. a few scenes at most. but even then, its just small AI generated looking porn pictures floating onto your screen. rather than a sex scene worth a damn.

Glad to see this project wasn't abandoned. Too many promising games end up being left on the proverbial cutting room floor because the creators just aren't... Creative enough, even though they have the power of generative AI at their fingertips. For shame. Anyway sorry for the unprompted rant. The thing about this game - and many others like it - is that it is clear that, given the tools available, iteration can do it a world of good. As I said before, there is something -about- this game, and I look forward to see that little something be expanded through the iterative process. With the power that creators can wield nowadays, there is really no excuse to stop developing other than laziness - and I'm happy to report that Beast Control is not one of these sorry cases.

This Demo is barebones and doesn't really show anything but "here is visual novel" There's no cohesion to the AI art, clearly just prompted and then used with no consistency between the art. Until the Dev implements the artist made content he promises my expectations are not high at all.

I am but a simple girl, I see furry / kemonomimi transformation or f-to-femboy, I like. Not a fan of the AI art but the developer mentioned that they want to hire real artists eventually, so here's to that. As for the game content, it's as barebones as it has potential, so this review might be eventually edited with a worse score. No sound is a bummer, but I've also played enough ren'py games with terrible soundtracks, so it's at least clearly better than the alternative.
