Maybe I'm just dumb but I can't pick up arrows for the bow. I get the pointer to interact with a quiver of arrows, but when I do, the ammo indicator just blinks green and shows 0/30. Consequently, I can't shoot planks and am stuck.

If you visited the bunker and picked up the revolver beforehand, you can use the gun to shoot the planks and avoid getting stuck.

It should have auto filled up with arrow when you grabbed the bow. Try to hold RMB first, then hold LMB to charge the shot and aim. It also showed me 0/30 and I kept going back to the arrows trying to pick them up. But they were full so it wasn't giving me anymore. The 30 represents your current ammo so you are full of arrows.
So I'm trying to use the save, but when I launch the game it says it's v5 (when I have v6 as the folder for binaries and content is named v6, the exe is named v6 and the save location is named v6) and the saves do not appear
I have V7 too and that loads as v7
So anyone have a 100% for v7? or a zip of v6 proper?

Thanks, but if so, then's something else wrong. The bow is equipped (as in active in the inventory), but when I press RMB, there's only zooming in, no aiming with the bow - and when I press LMB to fire, the bow gets unequipped for some reason.
EDIT: The Magnum doesn't work either. No aiming, no firing, but it gets unequipped after a few seconds.

You understood my message and, as I said, you are comparing two entirely different things. Vam is superior at what it does because it was created for that thing only. In terms of looks, Vam can look better, can look worse and the only thing it is superior are the scenes themselves because that's all what it is about, making and watching scenes. Saying that Vam is ''better'' is just wrong in terms of comparison and projects your own personal opinion (which is alright). If you came here and said:"The game is ok but i like Vam more beacuse of etc etc" there wouldn't be a problem.
That didn't help directly, but was the right clue! I loaded an older save, made the way to the room with the bow again and now it worked. The revolver is still buggy, though. No clue what's causing this, but as long it's not game breaking, I don't really care. There's no fighting in BITS anyway.

Have you tried using 7zip utility? Works pretty much with every archive format.

Hello time traveler, have you tried using 7zip? 7zip can open rar files as well as zip files.

v.7 fixes Keybinds not being over-written, which for me being a lefty that uses Numpad, was worth the download all by itself. Before I would rebind something, but it would also retain the old function, making the rebind useless. Thanks for this. This was also the best performing build I've tried since v.4

Can you see it in your hands or is it on your back? You have to press Q by default for the weapon to go to your hands. You press 1, 2 or 3 to change which weapon is active. Press Q to put it away as well. If that doesn't work then yea there is something else wrong

Try PeaZip which is an archive browser and file manager and is Free and Open Source software.
It may solve the RAR issues.
