So my question is this: are you able to use characters like Wonder Woman in the way that this game does, just by having the overall game title be not related to the original IP? (And if so, could Tara have been Lara all along)

Lol, they are on thin ice. So, this could be counted as parody, but DC could still send them a cease and desist if they wanted to, and after that escalate to full on infringement lawsuit. I don't think they will though, not unless 'Something Unlimited' suddenly started making millions of dollars.

I've always wondered where the line here is actually: Gunsmoke Games' Something Unlimited has Wonder Woman in it, along with a slew of other DC characters such as Batgirl, Catgirl etc. They all follow the original character designs (well they did until they started using AI art lol) with the original character names.

However, as you can see it was renamed from its original name 'Justice Unlimited' to 'Something Unlimited' in order to avoid copyright issues.

Oh this gentleman here is right. I could be terribly wrong but is there a possibility that the ORIGINAL GAME DEV'S could be making a porn parody of their own game (its called dark marketing) whereby they are specifically targeting a hedonistic audience so they can capture both the mainstream and the 'virtual community'? (Just joking, not sure how true could this be really? it's like accusing actresses of making their own ai fakes and putting it online. I know seriously bad joke.)

Also, suppose if the game dev is outside of the US/CAN... how far can the game dev's go in filing lawsuit?
Suppose, this Animo guy and his staff are based out in Cairo Egypt (Lara's favourite place) while the original game dev's are Americans', would that mean Animo would be extradited from Cairo and be tried in the American courts?

Not using a copyrighted model, but an original model is the first part to this magic.
The next step is not calling it 'Tomb Raider' or the MC 'Lara Croft', meaning they are legally distinct entities.
Finally, derivative/parody is legally protected as it is clear there isn't meant to be consumer confusion as to whether this represents actual copyrighted material.

To answer the last question: no you probably won't get away with making a porn parody game of wonder woman and selling it as a DC spin-off title. However, you could make a 'wonderful woman' parody game as long as you use your own models and don't use trademarked or copyrighted iconography.

Unreal Engine demands 5% on profits made should a game dev cross a million in earning. By not having BITS on steam, Animo hoodwinks UE5 as well as the original dev's. It is a freaking brilliant game, there is no doubt but wish it was an original story because I feel, this fear of lawsuit might sit deep inside Animo's head.

There's one more reason, probably wrote in-between the lines:
Animo never take his part of a pie to corps, not any single coin. Even better gonna say - he has (already or in the past) experience working for a company where he was used as an underground rabbit for modeling and animation. there are very strong suspicions that he worked remotely with RDR2 and later on Cyberbug (timelapse of free 'spaces' through BTQ releases hint here a lot, but maybe totally wrong, so scratch that). So after BTQ some 'lawyers' tried to mock him up - and now Lara became Tara, lore is a bunch of paper fanfics, etc. Game is just the game, not a "incredibly omfg 12 from 10 on the end of toes". Completely not defending anyone, but legalize bullshit are totally necessary, its useless since the Patreon sent him far away.

Absolutely, call him an underground rabbit or a corp lapdog but the bottom line is, as a challenge, pure challenge, he MUST work on a IP of his OWN and be known for thing's other than this game. BITS should be seen as a stepping stone for many future projects delivered at a steady pace.

he said he was going to release an episode 2 teaser with the skeleton enemy and a platform section, not the whole episode.

I honestly have no idea why he would devote wasted time and resources into cutting out a chunk of episode 2 to make a pointless teaser, it would be better spent just getting episode 2 finished properly. smh.

I really like how EP2 looks at the moment - initially i was worried that certain parts was a bit empty, but now we added so much areas to explore/secrets and other things - hope you will like it.

I like how Tara is flame and dust resistant; not even coughing or covering her eyes, mouth and nose. There's a "call elevator" on the left side of the mine shaft. Makes me think Tara may have to solve a puzzle to get the elevator to work.

The EP2 update won't feature the minotaur yet. Apparently that is for an even later version. EP2 should have Anubis as the boss.
