That being said animo do actually produce content and that content is appealing and quality to be hones. We can bitch all day long, but the fact is that in this niche there is no one else. Same goes for NV and their ludicrous prices... there is no one else that can provide "stuff" on same level / quality so they all do whatever they want.I think this is the main thing that stumps me when we get onto this whole topic.
Just knowing that there are people out there who can drop a regular monthly amount on multiple devs, knowing that some of them are not actually producing labour at a pace that corresponds to the sheer monthly Patreon haul.
Or even worse, *not* knowing that about the devs! I'm sure there are some whales out there who don't actually notice or question those outgoings, else devs such as the Erahunter team wouldn't still have hundreds of paying subscribers lol
It's just fascinating to me, what must the life of the whales be like...
IMHO the part of those optimistic estimates are to keep hype high. Dunno how this project (game) correlates to revenue vs animations, would be nice if someone can shed some light on subject.

Oh yeah completely agreed! Animo isn't one of the bad ones imo, at least there's communication even if some of the dates provided aren't exactly the best estimates.
The ones that really stump me, and I was just yapping about this since the topic came up, are the ones like SimBro, Abelius, EraHunter etc where they've either literally vanished (SimBro) or intentionally reduce their output to the bare minimum like the latter two

A team of 4 ppl actually finishing a part of the game which is playable now. Compare that to most devs in this industry who create a demo or alpha/beta ver. and just leech off the supporters and just update the game with small stuff until ppl get fed up and cancel the subs.
