ok, i know that probably noone will use this, and for my luck tomorrow the game will be updated, so my work was useless, but still. i made somewhat of a level, that can be played. for it you need to download 2.7.2 version (look post #427) and change default claire level pictures (sketches) to attached
WARNING: playing new game on 2.7.2 ruins your 2.90 save, so copy your 2.90 save somewhere to save progress

That still doesn't justify the slow pace of the game's updates and content. Just because you now have a reliable source of income fans are willing to give you doesn't mean you can slack off, do jack all in the meantime, get into drama, or plan for a roadmap you certainly won't meet unless you change your priorities. If anything, that can harm your image, create speculation and doubt, hurt the source of income, and ruin your reputation if it's not controlled.

And yeah, I get it, giving people money to make pornographic content for you to jack off seems a bit silly, regular coomer behavior even, but on an artist's side, it's definitely worth an investment to have a Patreon open and give the people a chance to give something back. On the opposite perspective, it wouldn't be just the regular "thanks for the boner bro, have a buck," but moreso "hey, I like you as an artist/person, keep going!"

Now it may sound like I'm defending the dude, but I'm not. They're just milking it and slowing things down, what with drama and all. People just gotta know where their money's going, what's it being used for, and just being smarter on where they're spending it, otherwise the cycle keeps going and no one learns.

...heck, one could speculate he's taking advantage of a promising concept covered with competence and grabbing as much dough as he can for the suckers that don't know any better, but who knows?
Don't wanna sound bad, but isn't the wait the industry standard? 2 months for a level feels long, but can you even recall more than 5 game devs that do something faster? They are 100% working and releasing the levels slower, but I have never heard of game updates being released whenever.

There is definitely an argument to be made here, but again, for what reason would they need to work faster? They have no competition (last time I heard of a rhythm game was when FNF went on kickstarter), they are doing minor updates between levels (the lovense support wasn't a 50 second 16 lines of code update).

And if simply stating that they aren't that bad people causes me to be crucified as a dick-rider, I guess so be it.

I dunno, I always felt there was something wrong, at least in terms of updates and works in progress. I wouldn't have an idea, provided the dev's time, how much of the game would be done with the first chapter. The change of the UI, new music, new art, things get added, a bit taken out, plus managing a discord server and doing who knows what. I get that. If anything, I just want devs to be more transparent with things y'know? Why ad lovense support when the focus in first on the art/gameplay? Why remove cheat codes on a WIP build? Why even plan *merch?* when the game is not even done? The roadmap is complete bogus now lmao, so it doesn't matter anymore I suppose.

Like I said, I feel like they would need to have more focus on the game first, then later add all the bells and whistles. On the opposite side, I would not know the dev's POV, so everything I said could be invalidated in the blink of an eye. Who knows? Heck, just like you said, if I give even a breadcrumb of positivity, I'd be framed as dickrider too lmao, so I'll save it when I see some change worth talking about.

I think the best explanation is the simplest of 'different teams, different speeds.'
Not every person working on the game can do everything. A sound producer can work on the game despite not being able to draw a stick figure, and a marketing manager can create merch and advertisement without knowing what the fuck they are promoting (see mobile game ads).
While it is possible that 90% of a new level update can be done in under 1 week, if the last 10% take 3 months, the entire update will take 3 months.
I personally believe that the lovense update was added cause the programmers simply had enough time to do it, as waiting around and doing nothing is one of my biggest issues, as I can't feel useless.

I still no clue what the level "13" (aka Jasmine level) in the version 2.7.2 is about...
imagine? people who legit grinded $99999 to buy it, and only got a dialogue and that's it, no extra level...
or need some requirements to access this?

They haven't even made sketch animations for it yet.

Well, after a short manipulation, I made a mod with Claire (remaking the cathy level with unique sounds and images from the previous version)
