Beat blades Haruka is more videogame than VN (even if VN's are a type of video game, you know what i mean), so you should expect great emphasis on the gameplay, while the story doesn't ruin things, and Ninja fans might actually enjoy it. What really makes this title unique is that said gameplay is delivered in various ways (turn-based combat, skills and level up, map management, infiltration minigame, and training game), so there's a lot of value here, and the 18+ is very good too, even if some "unlocks" are plain annoying.
Positive:
- All 3 heroines have more than enough going for them; Distinct forms of gameplay keep things interesting; Lots of H-scenes, lots of quality, lots of tags; Good voice acting; Visually rich, and appealing; A large and colorful cast (so many villains); More story than what you are expecting; It's not grindy, difficult or hardcore; (like some other games from the same dev), and more things. Great adult video game is the takeaway.
Negative:
- Unlocking VERY important content by losing fights, makes no sense whatsoever. The tags involved are irrelevant, this concept ignores basic "video game psychology". You lose/fail so that you learn, and eventually win, unlocking your reward. They missed a step, apparently.
Score: Beat blades Haruka is an 8/10 and a very good adult video game. What defines this title is the dev, and the higher quality they are able to provide, when compared to most of what you can find here. Highly recommended as a videogame, and the VN side of things is decent too.
