VN - Ren'Py - Because I Love Her [Love Update Steam] [The Typist]

I can't recommend this game (post-rework) enough, especially if you already tried and had mixed feelings about the original version. This game has been improved in basically every way imaginable, i.e. render quality, writing, pacing, etc. My only potential concern is if the releases slow down. Other than that, this is shaping up to be one of the best swinging/sharing games on the site.

Given the game's age, its content is surprisingly sparse, even when compared to others like Ocean, which at least offers more in terms of substance. Despite the dev’s attempt at a remake, the game still feels lacking, and the quality is nowhere near as polished as expected. It's clear that even with the remake, the game still falls short of the potential it might have had.

Originally, this game was heavily focused on NTR and cuckoldry themes, but the newer version seems to have dialed back on those elements. However, it's still evident that the developer has a particular fondness for creating this type of content. It feels as though the decision to broaden the game's appeal—by incorporating both cuckold and romantic love paths—was made with the intent of attracting a larger audience. Unfortunately, this dual approach seems to have compromised the game's integrity, resulting in a disjointed experience.

What I mean by that is:
- The story lacks appeal and fails to capture the player’s interest.
- The characters, especially the main ones, are poorly written, lacking depth and consistency. Their actions come across as abrupt and illogical, leaving players struggling to relate to them.
- Even when following a non-NTR path, there are occasional moments that bring back the unwanted cuckold vibes, which can be jarring.
- The writing could definitely use some polish—it feels rushed and incomplete.

It seems the developer often struggles with how to move the story forward, especially as they try to balance what was originally a NTR-focused narrative with attempts to cater to a broader audience. As a result, updates are few and far between, and only the most dedicated supporters are likely to stick around. In my humble opinion, the developer should have stuck with the original concept rather than trying to appease vanilla players, because the end result is a game that neither satisfies NTR fans fully nor pleases those seeking a more traditional romantic experience.

The main character is exactly what you’d expect in a game that originally leaned so heavily into NTR: a spineless cuck. An example of this is when Claire, after meeting a BBC at the gym, suddenly decides she wants to have fun with other men—without any real buildup or character development. Her abrupt declaration feels out of place, and the MC’s passive response—"Of course, darling, why not?"—only adds to the sense of weak storytelling.

Ultimately, the game would have been better off staying true to its original NTR direction. As it stands, it fails to fully satisfy either side of the player base: NTR lovers will likely be disappointed, and vanilla players are bound to be frustrated by the occasional cuckold elements that persist. The only redeeming feature here is the quality of the girl models, but that’s where the positives end. The game, in its current state, is simply a missed opportunity.

The rework was an absolute improvement to the game, simply every aspect of it got better. The story, the renders, the pacing, the build up...

One thing that it shares with the previous one is the abrupt ending of some choice decisions (e.g. sharing Claire, but not bringing Zoey into it). Something dev might patch up at some point, something they might never, still uncertain.

Sharing path so far is between playing together and full on cuck "loaning" the girls for the BBC to play rather than "sharing". Taking from the previous, a path with the girls leaving MC is probably on the roadmap. I think that range will appease most of the enjoyers of such genre.

On the harem path, I simply love the exhibitionist streak that's going on. Dev delivers very well on that end, especially when Zoey talks about it - feels like a real person with that kink. Looking forward eagerly to more scenarios that will come up from this line.

Overall, it's got potential, but until we some consistency in the update timeline as well as story progression, I'll hold out on that 5th star.

Because I love Her [version: ReWork - Alpha] is a superb NTR/sharing game, with little content to spare but deep potential. The obvious pain point will be the frequency of updates (as the graphical quality has improved drastically), and this means, in most cases, that fans should get strapped in for the long haul. Worth it? That's for you to decide on.

The models are gorgeous, the girlfriend is a busty redhead (what more could a man ask for?) and her sister is a busty raven-black brunette (that looks just a bit too hispanic, but forgivable), and for the cherry on top - their main lover (in the NTR path) is a black fitness instructor.

The game certainly starts off with the NTR choices rather quickly, and the ride doesn't slow down either - I think this is a good pace, but only if the game doesn't go on for years now, as I don't believe there is much to milk about this process The best part about this whole experience is, the MC can give his LIs over to other men as well, something rarely seen yet welcome. The MC doesn't have to be a cuck if you don't want to, which is cool to have for those that want true sharing over true NTR/Cuckolding. The only worry with all these "possibilities" is the development time; as others have mentioned this rework has been in development for 3 years, and provides maybe an hour or two of content. It remains to be seen how long future updates are going to take, and what they will bring. From what I can tell, there are 6 main women in the game already, there's no telling how long all those combinations will take to come to fruition. So, all potential players, be warned: you might be waiting for a while if you decide to take the plunge.

The new version of this game is way, way more better in term of story build of characters and the pace are perfect... upgrade on graphic more pleasant visual with good lightning.
The old version of the game was mediocre and unbelievable with poor randers...
I want to see cum dripping with clothes on walking with the cuck after, both sisters in action with the bull and more playful actions with some twist in the end.
I love both ntr and love paths that's why I give 5/5 stars and I believe the dev will deliver until the end.
I was not expect some good refresh to this game... but the typist really did it let's hope we have regular update and not see the abandon tag next year.

Review for Because I Love Her [Alpha Love Update] (September 2024):

I haven't tried this game for about 3 years, around the time the re-do started. Wow, what a change for the better in almost every respect. Renders, animations, are on-par with the best Ren'py games out there. Writing (dialogue/narration) is a huge improvement. The NTR switch is just good for business. I think the only disappointing thing is that I expected more content after 3+ years of the re-do (and 6+ years of the original game).

I'm divided between 3 and 4 stars on this one, gonna give it temporarily 4 for now (talking about the second game, Alpha Love update). The main issue I have on this division line is the story. It has some very good developments on some points and then a lot of scenes which don't seem to flow really well, for example when the gf finally meets the neighbor it all feels clunky and strange, he invites her in for coffee, only to quickly after just tell her to go 'cause he has to work. Things like that which make all the story feel disjointed in many places. Choices are great, though, even if it is an NTR focused game there are different paths to explore and relationships to see depending on what you choose. And some of the characters are also quite interesting, especially I'll want to know what's going on with the neighbors.

Render quality is very high and character models are diverse and stunning all of them. Animations are decent, a bit clunky at times, but pretty decent, even though sex scenes are a bit brief. There's music but I took it out, and there are no real other sound elements. And as far as I've played, there seem to be no bugs, and the gallery can already be unlocked with the basic game's functions.

So, all in all, I'm leaning more in the 4 star direction so far, but it'll depend on how dialogues and characters and scenes eventually develop.

PS: since both games are not connected to eachother, I really think they should have their own names and their own threads.

The protagonists girlfriend is a 10/10 imo. The NTR is indeed clearly (not like hidden behind weird choices) optional (a big + for me). The game has actual different paths you can follow (replayability). I am not sure about the cost in development time but I sure like having a variety of options. I do not clearly remember the older versions, but from what I saw from a few old saves the game has been improve extremely . I am really looking forward for the next version, looks really promising.

Character renders are top notch, multiple routes for the player to choose from; game is definitely top notch. I rarely start on incomplete games, but this game definitely made me DL immediately after seeing it and I have never regretted it since. Even actually make me broke my own rule of "not-buying-any-uncompleted-games" and it became one of the few games I bought it from Steam.

The only downside is that Steam achievements is disabled if you use Universal Ren'Py Mod on this game.

Update:
The author improved a lot on this game ever since the rework, and the following is a breakdown on my rating:

• Render: 5/5 The character's expression and bodies are really amazing. Like holy shit the butt even ripples even during the pounding.
• Story: 5/5 Multiple paths, kinks, LIs. There's quite some build-ups and cliff-hangers between updates. The author really knows how to use teasing and suspense, and doesn't just kill the dialogue after the sex scenes are over.
• UI: 4.5/5 It'd be nice to add in fancy dialogue boxes (trivial, not essential).
• Music: 5/5 Decent music that sets the mood - I like the use of slow jazz for the intimacy.

This is the only game with ongoing updates that keeps me coming back from more, even though the game is uncompleted yet.

I gotta say this is really good so far. Top notch visuals, decent writing, and highly erotic scenarios. I'm all in for Zoey content, plus all the NTR stuff, too, and can't wait to see how things ramp up.

I really, really wanted to give this game five stars simply because I found it really hot, and also because it did a lot right. For reference, I played with NTR on.

What I really like about this game in the context of a NTR game is that it was extremely focused on the main couple, their dynamics, and, most of all, their communication. You can have all the outlandish promiscuity you can dream up, but conveying meaning and impact multiplies the eroticism tenfold, and, largely, this game did that. In addition, I found the scenes and renders hot in and of themselves, and the pacing of events was pretty good until the last 20% or so.

For the bad, well, bugs first off. There were several instances in which the primary couple's names were hard coded, as well as some in which secondary character names were mis-referenced.

The second and largest complaint has to do with several instances of extremely random plot control by the writer.

4. Overall, the author's writing discipline seemed to wane quite a bit towards the end, and it felt like they were simply trying to wrap up events by any means possible. My characters, who had communicated everything , were suddenly having a fight that was contradictory to all their previous discussions, they began making major decisions without communicating, and player choice was funneled down to a single path. For other events, setup and promise of completion was initiated, but never fulfilled. I get that these things take resources, and that writing is especially hard in the context of branching and rendering, but by the end I felt like I'd ridden an amazing roller coaster, and, smiling as we glided into the exit, a clown pied me in the face.

Such an amazing game.

Very hot renders and scenarios. Love it when it isn't cuck and actual swinging. The GF and her sis are especially hot. The pacing is excellent, as there is so much more potential as well.

My only gripe with these type of games is that the 'bull' is always black ; that trope is so overdone. Other than that, was a truly satisfying game. Even the writing was pleasant, as it really underscored the sexual psychology behind people in more open relationships.

This is a solid game with excellent renders and animations. It also has a pretty good somewhat slow-burn story that (to me at least) doesn't feel too rushed or cliche. There is also a decent amount of branching so your decisions will impact which scenes you see offering a bit of replayability. I only knock one star off due to the pace of development (over 5 years and not much content) which is unfortunate as I think most fans would love to see more from this dev as it is quality stuff.

This game is super hot to me, so I'm giving it a conditional 5 stars.

The condition is that new content comes out and progresses the story, this left me wanting so much more. It hit all the right NTR and cheating buttons.

Considering the age of the game it has very little content, even Ocean is left behind. But in quality it's nowhere near as good. Even considering that Dev made some kind of a remake, it's still too little.

Older version of the game was NTR/Cuck focused game, the new one seems lees focused on NTR, but you still can see that Dev enjoys creating exactly this type of content.

He probably wanted to get more supporters hence decided to play both sides (cuck/love). And when Dev who specializes on creating cuck content tries to integrate other paths - we get this game.
What do I mean by that:
- not appealing story;
- bold, empty characters (bad written), who acts abruptly, illogical;
- even on non-NTR path you still get cuckish vibers sometimes;
- writing could be polished (mildly saying) as well;

Obviously Dev sometimes is being at a total loss as how to progress the story that was supposed to be NTR-only, hence updates are very rare, only fully devoted subscribers will keep supporting him this way. Anyway the game is just bad, it should have been left in it's original direction. In it's current stage I think it won't satisfy fully NTR lovers and vanilla players will be pissed too.

The 5* ratings pretty much have become a meme on this Site, because it seems to be enough to have good renders and the 5* are yours.
At least that's how I can explain that, because this game is nowhere near 4-5 stars.
It's incredible, that this game has been in development since 2018, and still offers so little content, and has a story that is so slow-burn, at a milking pace.
The story is so boring, just like the characters and their conversations between each other.
I guess this is supposed to be about NTR and sharing, but this game feels all over the place and also being nowhere.
What I mean by this is, that you often times switch between both MC's and click through many conversations and scenes, that offer little to no substance.
There is little to no action to be seen here, and the "corruption" part is really corny.
I really don't like the male MC. He seems like a spineless cuck.
You'd like to think that if this game focuses more on the visuals, it would at least offer good sex scenes.
But that is also not the case. The sex scenes are very few, really short and unmemorable.
All in all, this VN is a waste of time, that offers little to no substance, and will take a place on my ignore list.

The new Because I love her is better and more realistic story.
I love the story build up and choices you get, a few spelling errors but those can be fixed.
The renders are very nice.
The models used for the women are very pretty.

Looking forward to the next updates of the game.

Definitely have a huge potential, the heroines are one of the prettiest I've ever seen in a game, and the relationship between Claire and the protagonist is something really cool, because they have a real talk about everything and this really feels good. Good job and keep going forward
