VN - Ren'Py - Being a DIK [v0.10.1] [DrPinkCake]

I was a little wary of this after seeing the disclaimer at the beginning (I actually still think a simpler disclaimer would work as well without driving away potential players), but playing it there wasn't much in the game that was that offensive. The renders are excellent quality and the story is interesting enough. I turned off the minigames after my first try as they seemed t be distracting (I don't consider that a negative since the developer put in the option to turn them off). I think it would flow easier without being locked into some Dick/Chick decisions, but after losing my initial save I used a mod that allows switching status allowing free choices (Choices still have an impact on future scenes that cheats won't overcome which keeps it interesting). Overall I really enjoyed it and look forward to seeing more.

Dr. PinkCake has vastly improved his writing, comedy, design abilities and more in his new game. Acting Lessons seems to just be the tip of the iceberg with him. Clearly, with more resources and experience, he's been able to provide a stellar game yet again with impeccable comedy, amazing characters, and a story that, while written like a good Soap Opera it manages to impress all around.

I've been on this forum for ages, and I've played a lot of games, but my god, this game is unreal in quality. DrPinkCake is a maistro in both making a fun game and letting you jerk off to it, and mixing those together seamlessly. Acting Lessons was one of the greatest games in the history of the genre, and it crawled so Being a Dik could run, this game is a homerun, all the girls are perfect, and the customization is enough to make a grown man cry. I played it because Acting Lessons was unbelievable, and this is almost incomprehensibly good. If I were to give any criticism? I feel like I'm being shoehorned into hanging out with girls I don't like on occasion. I haven't been pursuing Jill at all, and I really wanted Sage, and I feel like I've seen more of Jill than Sage still. Anyway, game's a total masterpiece, and I feel honored that I even got to play it.

Well the game is really good , good renders, it'll sound weird but yes Derek is my favorite character and Bella oh god it's a tremendous character too, I dont' see a main conflict but I like the story of bella so i think your main plot always gonna be with you favorite character so thanks for the game

Being a DIK has been the most entertaining game that I have played for a long time... a multiverse of emotions and kinks where the story throws you from one extreme to another: uncontrollable laughter one minute followed by an often darker and serious twist, from sweet teenage romance to dirty lust... it's a constant rollercoaster ride which isn't always gentle, isn't always easy, and it can make you scream and panic... but what a ride. A truly amazing story filled with so many memorable moments. Cannot praise BAD enough.

Peak of the adult gaming genre. Excellent characters where I am invested about people who aren't love interests at all and centers around a story in a believable setting. Mini-games are unique and innovative such as the tindr doppleganger. Renders and animations are great. The only complaint is that updates are few and far between, but it's probably necessary when producing quality

i've played a couple of VN before but this one is just in another league, such immersive story, great animation and i just love derek. this just show how much love you put into your work. i hope you continue to provide us with great content. cheers

Dr PinkCake equals quality. This is something I've always believed since the 0.1 of Acting Lessons and he improved so much since then.
Being a DIK has it all: amazing character design visually and writing-wise, an interesting plot, great humor, good choice of music and hot girls doing hot things (which is mainly why we're playing this game uh).
Definitely one of the best game of this genre.
(Don't burn shit down again pls)

Amazing game =) keep up! Love the story, love the girls, loved the branches and possibilities. Feels like a tv show or a movie but much better because you can interact and choose =) hope to see more of it soon =)

I'm not sure which girl i love more, it will be very difficult to choose one and i'll certainly save and pursue other routes too (Bella, Jill, Josy, Maya) .. the minigames are fun as well

I don't even remember the last time I enjoyed vanilla story. I'm one of those sick perverts lol. but to my surprise, I find this game quite enjoyable. it was refreshing. so here is my take:

The writing is nice, the music set the mood just right, it is a good and nice easy story for me. usually this type of stuff just make me cringe hard. especially stuff like the event with Jill in her bedroom for example. ...not my kind of thing, BUT, just from that one event, you can figure out what kind of character Jill is...and to me that is a plus in writing. really good job. brings character, and draws you in. ^^

Quinn's act with you on the rooftop in DIK Route is suprisingly nice,
Isabella's character development towards the MC in CHICK Route is cute,
the plot twist in episode 3 though, I kinda saw it coming. but..maybe it's because I like mystery novels, so I have an eye for this kind of thing..

I'm a bit curious on how the affinity system will affect the MC in the future. so far you only miss erotic scenes and some alternative dialogue by going in with either of the path. and you are gonna miss out alot of scenes if you go with neutral affinity.

the render is high quality, the minigames are great aaaaand,
this is the first vanilla game that made me play through the game more than twice, and enjoyed it...for that, I gave it 4.5.
I can see why people recommending this to me. it's a good game ^^.

Dr PinkCake did it again, AL was my favourite game, but after this, now is my second.

I couldn't find any negative aspect from this game because it doesn't have one. The story, graphics, humor, music are all amazing.

All the characters are great but i really love Bella and Jill.

Played a lot of these games recently and IMO this is the best of them all, Well written, funny, emotional great story, great characters and some of the best animations I have seen to date on Ren'Py. Played through it twice already and going for a third time on the chick route, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Amazing game, maybe the best PC adult there ever is, this is kind of normal and fantasy should look like, great little novel/game. Splendid story telling, excellent minigames, multiple choices. I imagine this will be a classic years to come.

Really well made game, good renders, clever humor, likeable characters and good branching storylines that give replayability.

Decisions made make a difference to branching paths, which really sets this apart as a proper GAME as oppose to the endless linear visual novels that lots of devs pump out. Not only that but theres some nice celever mini games to break up the game play (but if not your thing theres the option to turn them off).

This is my favorite game/vn on this forum!
I mean what's not to like, the MC pretty much screws every girl he meets - his co-worker, his teachers, his roommate and I'm sure by the time this vn is done he will probably nail most of the girls at the sorority.
Also most of the female characters are super hot.

I thought his previous work was good, but after playing DIK, I can see this once might turn out to be just as good if not better. Dr PC's hard work and dedication in providing a rich and interactive story and unique and real characters really shows.

The renders are awesome as always, but it's the multiple choices that always make you come back for more.

I am positive that this one will do into a hall of fame once it's finished.

Pros: Incredible writing. Derek. Good cast of characters. Derek. Polished sex scenes. Derek. Good "personality" system that ties in well with your character choices. Goddamn Derek.

Cons: some choices aren't yours even if you don't want them. Like, if I wanted no romance with 2 of the girls I was still forced at points. Only negative for me, and it is a relative small one.

Best part of the game: Handsdown and I will put money down for it, my man, my buddy, maggot brother to death; Derek, I love you man.

It's very rare to find games that successfully mix good, personality-oozing writing, great renders & animations, good story and meaningful choices.

Being a DIK is, to my surprise, just that kind of game.

Now, I say it surprised me because before Being a DIK, I had absolutely zero interest in these kind of games; I found the graphics to be off-putting, and much prefered a hand-drawn (Summertime Saga) or pixel art (Forest of the Blue Skin) approach. This game is what sparked my interest in Ren'Py and 3D porn games in general, and having finished DIK, I now struggle to find a new experience of the same quality (Acting Lessons is pretty good, too). In particular, I find most games lack the same player agency and personality as DIK.

If you're like I was, jump on this. Everyone who wants high quality hot shit should jump on this, because it's some really high quality hot shit.
