Ren'Py - Abandoned - Ben X Slave Quest [v0.05e] [Newman&Akanoes]

NOTE: This review refers to 0.05e and was written in November 2024. While artist is posting art updates, there was no new versions since 2021, making possibility of further updates unlikely, especally in recent future.

I will, however give it benefit of the doubt and view this as an early version of the game, not counting it lack of content and incoplete story agianst it.

Gameplay: 4,5/5 - There is a combat minigame and a bit of grind, but its not a bad combat system and there will be a lot of days to pass waiting for plot, anyway. Autobattle is a good QoL addiction. Easy

Music: ?/? - I don't listen so I don't know.

Art: 5/5 - You can see pictures below. There is a bit of peudo motion (switching between a few CG to imitate motion), but no outright animation.

Story: 4/5 - I don't know much about Ben10 world. I watched a bit of the 1st season all the way back, but that's it. From my perspective characters are close to the oryginal (those I know, at least). Things mostly made sense, aside maybe from why Sublimo watch was only used on Gwen. Maybe alien girl is immune? IDK. I disliked that I had to waste time waiting for Gwen's visit a few times, but I just patroled for cash and stats

Overall: 4,5/5 - Good story and art, asidde from occasional pacing issue with time managament. I would look up to the next version, but with this much time between updates, I will just bookmark it and check in a year or 2.

The game itself is confusing to play through as there is no guidance on what to do with a very confusing UI that does have objective & quest that leads to no indication of what to do. You are just clicking around the game hoping for progress to move forward & looking around the UI to find subtle hints on what to do.

The art style itself is good, but the content is seriously short if we count the NSFW scene this game has. It may look like a fun game but it isn't anything but relying on good art. The training part is also limited & severely low in content.

Akanoes the developer in this project is extremely immature & can't appropriately handle the situation, and gets easily agitated. Bans you if you slightly touch his nerve. Warning, join the community at cautious.

I give this a two star since the art style is holding its weight, while the update takes 3+ years to be ready.

good quality, fairly long, many options, interesting plot, great sex scenes and relations, great dialogues, cool art style.
I hope the next release dont take another 2 years though, Im lucky enough to have found this so late, but there doesn't seem to be a new build in the horizone, and when it comes, who knows if it would be worth the waiting, but I enjoyed what I got so far, one of the best games ive played

I really enjoy the game the bombs are fun to use and the art is very nice nice. I enjoy the plot direction and the amount of text is reasonable not way to much like some other trainer games. Just waiting for young Gwen.

years between updates , boring repetitive gameplay. Lazy developer. Don't hold your breathe. Even if we got a new update sometime this year it would most likely be a bare minimum update . If we received more content and the gameplay had more diversity then maybe it rating would be higher but like i said its been years with no progress. Very disappointing considering i love the artwork.

Why hasnt this game gotten an abandoned yet apparently i need to upload more then two hundred characters so let me drag out this message even longer on why a half baked demo that was already dead in the water five years ago hasnt received an abandoned tag yet literally nothing has changed in years im tired of seeing this thing pop up when theres nothing to be done what a waste of resources time and energy get this shit out of here as soon as possible

Too little, too late.

Development is a crawl, and unlike similarly slow updating games on this site like waifu academy, this game hasn't built up enough content to justify so much time between updates. For reference, I remember this being considered old over three years ago.

Combat is still a slog, with auto-combat rates still being awful (on par with auto-resolve in the warhammer games) and requires a inordinate amount of strategy. Events are also tricky to get, as this game lacks a hint system. This wouldn't stick out as much if it wasn't for the fact update time was so slow.

However, I still gotta give it props for the good art and decent story, hence 2 stars instead of 1.

The game may seem interesting and it has good art and when you see some scenes you can see it very well, the story is interesting because if it has all this, why only one star, well, it's just 5 years of development and scarce content, almost no sexual scenes and the plot is not get moving.

To save time in this game here are the scenes.
I have followed this game for years watching it slowly grow and I mean slowly in the worst way possible. This game needs a massive update to the training and sexual content because it is now just a waste of potential it would be a top tier trainer if the dev focused on interactions with the girls instead of making shar useless clothes and a system to save the outfits for different occasions that you don't see or are rarely seen. you grind in the combat system for hours so you enjoy the sad amount of story and the sadder amount of sexual content, but the dev's seem like they just want easy money and do minimal amount of work to this project to keep people paying until they get the next update leaving disappointed and a new group of new suckers comes rolling in when they do release a update. working on this since 2017 and there is around a hours worth of actual content surrounded by grinding in battle and the training is slow from the lack of stuff to do.

I am probably being harsh but this game to me is like a kid waking up on Christmas morning going to get presents and all of them have a note saying I am behind on the update but don't worry Shar is going to get some clothes when I make copies of the same thing in different colors we still haven't made a scene of her doing anything gratifying maybe next update.

Good Points
+We have classic but interesting plot. Multiverse is about to colapse and Bellicus&Serena sends you mission for saving multiverse. But you are not Ben 10! You are Albedo and its actualy interesting point for people who wants to play as a villain but its only true if you are not Ben 10 fan.
+I love that S.L.A.V.E thing about story, its pretty cool detail.
+We have some 4th wall break scenes with Albedo talks with us like ''You might be player but you cant choice what i want here.'' or ''Stop breaking 4th wall its worse story telling tactic.'' etc. And its pretty interesting i say
+Render/Drawing style looks pretty good. Ben have great physic which is accurate for his all success and power and more importantly girls looks pretty hot.
+We have Rook Shar in this game instead of Rook Blonko and its good choice. While i like Rook Blonko this is adult game and having girl partner is far more better.
+Some choices are matter and gives you +1 lust points. Its not that great but... Someting i gues.

Bad Points
-There is no walkthrough! And we need it! People and me included can stuck at lots of parts of game because of lack of hints/walkthrough. Why this game dont have any walktrough?!
-Lots of scene dont even have proper images like first touching scene with Shar and other scenes dont have enough image for per scene aswell.
-We have so called ''animations'' with 2-3 picture static ones and they look pretty bad. Our first blowjob with Charmcaster (and sex scene) is good example for this, its looks pretty bad...
-There is lots of thing ''not yet implement'' like just basic blowjob scene or variants/positions like holding Shar arms while doing it... Seriously? After 2-3 year this game is so far having enough content...
-For reaching story parts and scenes you need grind... And its makes things pretty much annoying... If i need give you rate about grind i would say 7/10 level annoying. Not high enough to wants you to delete game but its high enough to wants you to use Unren and money cheat.
-Combat is not balanced at all. Your enemies even common thugs can hit you a lot while you cant hit enough as a Ulimatrix user Ben 10/Albedo. Seriously who said ''Common tags can beat Ben 10, it could be fun.'' or someting like that? Thats not fun at all...
-Corrupting girls only possible with one way and its mandotary. You dont have any other option and you basicaly gonna be forced to use way DEV gives you. For example even if you want train your girl (Shar for example) for only yourself you can do that beucase you gonna give her orders like ''Go there, use your body and flirt with that guy, make your skirt short, show your ass and got information.'' etc... So basicaly there is not divercity in this game about routes at all and its pretty big bad point. In this type of ''Trainer'' games always have at least two path and difference between paths always makes game more enjoyable, its gives that game more divercity and immersives aswell and we dont have that here.
-Honestly while i dont like the having Villain as MC that much i cant say im not ok with it but having Albedo as a MC is annoying because he wasnt good Villain in Ben 10 serie at all and not good here either.
-Another bad point gonna occur if you are Ben 10 fan. This is adult game and we all know what is that means... You gonna do lewd things with girls/woman from Ben 10 universe and this means you gonna do those things with Albedo, the guy you probably dont like at all and even you hate and while Ben frozen in Alien X. And probably you were waiting Ben as a MC of game do lewd things with girls as a your headcanon, as a your fantasy but this game is not gonna give you that. So if you are Ben 10 fan and if you want play as a Ben 10 sadly this game is not for you because you gonna see how Albedo gonna corrupt girls you realy realy like. But how about my opinion about it? Honestly i cant say im big fan of Ben character so i would like to see Ben as a MC but! He could be have memory lose because of some fight or because of some mulfunction of ultimatrix and we could build our own (Not completly own of couse but with good little details and wibe changes etc) character. With story goes on we could choice things can change our character like being rough, annoying guy, cool guy, nerd type or shy etc and it could be pretty amazing.

For The End
I can see the potencial, this game have realy good potencial but looks like DEV's cant use that potencial fully. If game was new, this was first version or someting i could understand and even told its looking pretty good with giving 4 star rating and told it could reach great potencial with time but this game developing since 2017 and we are in 2021... And in 3-4 year this game is still dont have any penetration, dont have any different positions/angles for sex scenes or different paths for girls and most sadly DEV didnt fixed any bad point told by players like unbalanced combat etc... Thats just sad... We have all this potencial, pretty good looking drawing style and in the and we have this thing even after 3-4 year of development time... And as far i learn this game is no developing for 3-4 year (at least thats what they told) and more like developing time for time but still it makes at least 1-2 year and i saw lots of game with more content than this game with their first update. So basicaly its not worth your time... Maybe DEV's starts add real content to this game for next updates you can check, but for now its just not worth your time. Yeah its have some good scenes with cool drawing style and with goodish combat mechanics but bad points and lack of content makes this game poor. I hope they will do better job with next update and recompense all that time with adding amazing content with lots of thing but i dont have high hopes for that...

This game have too little scene for a 4 years porn game.I spent hours sleeping waiting to make some event triggered.Nothing much to do other than sleeping.The combat system also a mess and bugged.After a couple hours,only few scene happen.Then nothing more.Please Dev,if you want to make a porn game make it for real.Not like this.

Amazing game. Very well made. Great art. No full sex scenes yet but so far the story is phenominal! The writer really did their homework! Perfect for Ben 10 fans. Personally its a perfect balance between a sex game and an actual game.

so it's a very good game and the new update polished it a bit and added a few small scenes and i totaly get that the devs are bitching about pirateing but i would actualy not support a game unless it has proven it self to be going somewhere and keep going. an update every 3 - 4 years is to little to even think about spending money on it.
atm i would say it would be enough content to spend 3 money on it a single time to show some gratitude. But for a subscribtion Devs need to be more open with scedules they almost hit and stuff otherwise making a game like this is a hobby and not a job and hobbys devour time and money and they only pay off if u proven your self and mastered them.

What the actual fuck? For those four and a half years you get 3 hours contect if u read all the text!? And despite this its full of file errors and buggs. Full lack of control on the game, at some point you have to sleep like crazy, just to await something to trigger.

I mean the art is kind of nice. Ish. Its okay. That's all I can say positive about this.

The combat is obnoxiously imbalanced. First fight you get? 4 dudes at once who can IMMEDIATELY, before you act once, kill your ally. Or nearly kill you.
You ally being a living pile of crap, who can barely dent anyones hp, who can heal like 2 attacks worth of damage twice a fight then basically doesn't exist.
You beat this fight by skipping turns to do the 'upgraded' version of your first attack, which hits all enemies and kills them in 3 turns. Game doesn't attempt to explain this. Its listed in your menu, but the game doesn't tell you the menu exist. It doesn't tell you how charging moves works. It doesn't explain anything.

Second fight your ally can't even do any damage at all.

It doesn't get better. It gets worse. Its an awful combat system, in an awful overworld, where nothing is explained and 90% of options presented are presented for no apparent reason. What do I mean by that? I mean the game will show you a town, 5 places to visit, but if you click anything but what it wants, it will go ''nah fuck that'', sometimes literally in those words, until you click the right one. Which it won't even tell you which is the right one.

The game is linear to an absurd degree. It constantly offers you choices in convos. Only for all but 1 option to say ''fuck you'' and dump you back in the menu asking for your choice. Why give me any choice if it only exists to be spat back at me? It'd be better if it dropped the pretense of my actions mattering at all.

In its first release, there in the now far away 2017, it was a promising game.
In its second release, heavy Lust and power vibes started to show, with developers focusing more and more in a ''who-cares-this-is-a-porn-game'' fighting system instead of the actual content of the game.
Now its abeatifull, awesome, super usefull waiting simulator. Seriusly its the best. You can drawn pictures while you wait for the next release. You can watch movies. You can start a university carrer. You can even start your own porn game. You can do ANYTHING! Except playing the game, that has been deleayed for literal years now. That an a couple of ''goodie packs'', that is, porn images that should be part of the actual game, if you are subscribed to the creators patreons. I was wrong thinking Lust and power wanted to be the first pay to win porn game, this one clearly stole that idea long ago.

The art is definitely the best part of the game, but that doesn't mean it's only good because of that. First of all, why 4/5 ? This is a 5/5 game, but due to it's slow development it's a 4/5, when they complete it, it will most likely get all stars for me, but for now as a demo, it would only receive 5 stars if they had this much content by 2018.

Pros : Art - best art style in an adult Ben 10 parody game, very stylized and unique, great scenes and compositions

Story - above average, it's not too dumb and honestly nobody expects more from a parody game

Music - pleasantly surprised, enough variety, love the hip hop tracks, it still has a couple tracks that most adult games have due to being copyright free

Gameplay - balanced and intuitive, not archaic to the point where you need a guide, but the addition of a better quest tracker would be nice

Extra : I expect more Gwen scenes and can't wait for the extra 2 girls, I hope the devs will get back to the project...with full force (get the reference, if not "nade out"), by that I mean I hope the game gets finished by the end 2022 at the very latest.
