It's been fun watching this group slowly flex into adult territory for over half a decade.
A visual novel that attempts to be tongue in cheek, or tongue on gentials, take your pick. It lacks depth and is quite aware that it just follows the tropes, but that still doesn't make it strong.
Art: 5 Stars
What hasn't changed is their eye popping art. Color color, color , and Lights, they are masters of using the rainbow to make their art catch the eye. Then include their ability to make really attractive figures, it's no wonder that a few people might think that this is AI created art, but it is not.
If there is anything that is inconsistent, it might be the variation between the two artists, but it's really minimal.
Story: 1 Star
Their ability to tell a complex narrative is still weak, but hey, it's a porn game, right? Nah, it's a visual novel, I want my mind to be stimulated just a little bit. The aim was for humor, but there isn't anything to have the reader establish a connection with the characters. Having a sense of tension, developing backgrounds, and just going beyond the superficial art would bring your holdouts into really enjoying your work.
Gameplay: N/A
It's a visual novel with limited choices on a few branching pathways. No minigames.
Animation: 3 Stars
Three stars not because the animation is bad, but because there just isn't enough of it. With such nice artwork I think the audience wants to see these madiens get completely throttled.
Technical: 3 Stars
On the technical end their are a few
minor bugs. The credit screen flashes black between stills where there should be a either fade of the text to the new text or a change of the text to the new text. The scrolls between chapters can tend to unfurl two, three, or more times; where I am expecting the proper behavior to be it just unrolling once in a smooth animations.
There are certain delays between scenes that are neither comedic or suppose to be pauses in the dialogue. Definitely need to work on the transitions.
Voice Acting and Sound: 4 Stars
It a nice addition that makes sure that the speakers need to be turned down during those naughty scenes, unless you have no shame.
Unfortnately the story does hurt the performances since making connection with the characters should be important in a visual novel. Yes, this applies to comedic stories too.
Overall this comedy delievers nice art and sound, but lacks a good punch line to reel it in. I hope this group tries to grow their narrative storytelling or at least bring in a dedicated writer to make something truely spectacular.
In the future I hope we can see more fetishes covered like pregnancy/impregnation, BDSM, and all the other fun ones out there. I mean, the Best Elf in my opinion is the one that gets the bun in the oven...
