I'm usually making short notes for myself about games I've tried and I'm reading other people reviews too, but I'm usually not checking usernames. Does anyone know reviewers from whom you can read everything? Your favorites?

Like you I hardly ever look at the usernames of reviewers.
Personally, I like reviewers who are blunt and have some humor in their reviews. I'm by no means a God level reviewer, but I'd say the kind of reviews I do are the reviews I like. Idk if that comes across as egotistical lol

No one really remembers the names lol.

Off the top of my head, I can only think of botc76 and fitgirl*****(can't remember sry). Mostly because they are known members that make sensible posts.

I don't need to agree with everything in a review to find it helpful. Just try to be at least a bit objective and explain your reasoning.

"OMg dIS gAM haS pOtEnTiAL" is a genuinly worthless review. As are the reviews based entirely on the renders. We can see the damn preview pics.

There's a lot of now inactive accounts with low posts that write some really good reviews but I don't really write them down. One good reviewer that I think is also a writer for one of the games on here is T51winterized or something like that. Forgot which game thread it was but he wrote some very good constructive criticism but got a ton of flak for it from the game's loyal fanbase.

Most the time I look at people's reviews I wonder if we even played the same game.
Most people on here probably would consider me a harsh reviewer. I'm not here simply to fap.
If I wanted to just do that there are plenty of porn sites to visit. So I want a story that's worth a crap or a game that is basically fun for me to play.
I won't usually take points off for spelling and grammar because English is a second or 3rd language for many.
But plot holes especially major ones get under my skin. It's one thing when they are accidental another when they are caused by lazy writing.

I never read reviews before playing a game, usually not even after playing the game. There is one particular guy who thinks he's the reviews god and I often see him complaiming and trashing games as if he was expecting to find the Lamborghini of adult games in that v0.01 from a random first time solo dev and he often makes absurd comment about the games as if he didn't pay any attention to the game he was playing or as if he doesn't know anything about the software (DAZ, HS, etc) being used but he still talks as if he knew about it.

Like I rarely read reviews, this guy wouldn't be the exception if it wasn't for the fact that he even comments his review as a comment together with the review so everyone else know that he was there and he reviewed the game.

Of course I won't comment who he iz, but since the OP asks about remembering names and good reviewers, and some people actually thinks this guy is good at it, I just wanted to mention it.
