Hey everyone,
I’m currently developing a text-based sandbox visual novel using Twine, and I’m reaching out for some community feedback and potential beta testers. I've been working solo on this project for a while now, and while the foundations are solid, I’ve reached the point where I feel outside input could make a huge difference.
What’s the Game About?
You play as a hacker who infiltrates a luxurious hotel.
Your goal? Hack and collect private content from the people you meet.
It's a free-roam sandbox, meaning you can choose which characters to interact with and when. There’s no fixed path — instead, the story branches naturally based on your decisions and discoveries.
The twist?
Hacking isn’t just a single click — it involves:
Standard choices like Greet, Flirt, Date, Gain Interest, etc.
Skill Events
Progression-based routines that require specific skills like:
ALL Events (Affection, Love, Lust)
Every character has three visible stats:
Narrative Structure
While sandbox-focused, the story is not just a mess of scattered scenes.
Each character has:
A Note on Style
The game uses real-life photos for characters and environments.
I’m capable of 3D modeling, but wanted to prototype mechanics and storytelling first before investing more time on visuals.
The goal is to eventually rebuild this in Ren’Py with 3D assets — this Twine version is the sandbox mechanics lab and storyboarding tool.
Why I Need You
Building sandbox games solo is... tough.
Especially with the level of routine depth, interactivity, and non-linearity I’m aiming for.
Right now, I’m finding it increasingly hard to:
⏳ Development Timeline & Response Time
I work on the project 1 to 3 hours every two days, typically on:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday
So if you're part of the beta testing or want to reach out with feedback or questions, please expect replies mostly on those days.
This is a solo side project, but I’m consistent with updates and communication when I'm in dev mode!

- Mini-games (a card-based mechanic is currently in development),
- Puzzle-like missions to gather personal data,
- There are 10 main female characters already implemented.
- Each has a detailed weekly routine across 4 daily time slots (Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night) for a total of 28 routine events per character (some repeated, but with lots of variation).
- Events fall into 3 categories:
Standard choices like Greet, Flirt, Date, Gain Interest, etc.
Skill Events
Progression-based routines that require specific skills like:
- Strength
- Hacking
- Endurance
- Energy levels
ALL Events (Affection, Love, Lust)
Every character has three visible stats:
- Affection
- Love
- Lust

- A Main Questline
- Which sometimes requires completing key events from other characters (to maintain global story coherence).
