Hi everyone!
I hope you’re having a great weekend, guys. I’m slowly getting back to working on the game, and we do have some progress, even if it’s not very big yet. During this time, I created several images for the game (non-story ones), tested the code again, and everything seems to be fine. Obviously, the closer we get to the release of the update, the more often I’ll have to re-test things, but I try to check everything every time I work with the code so I don’t have to waste extra time on it later. To be honest, testing the same content over and over again gets pretty tiring, and each time I only think about finally getting new renders done and forgetting about the old ones.
Right now we have 689 images ready. A few of them will need to be reworked, but that won’t take much time — as long as I don’t forget about it… Everything is processed, implemented into the code, and so on — in other words, nothing particularly new. I also created another character, and she already has some screen time, but whether she will continue to appear in the story is still a big question. It all depends on how you receive her (and yes, she’s a girl). For now, she’s only loosely integrated into the plot, and I’m thinking about giving her another scene so you can spend more time with her and get to know her better. Most likely, I won’t be showing her before the update comes out, just like the other new characters. Shannon doesn’t count, because I really like her.
In terms of music, nothing has changed yet, since I still haven’t found suitable royalty-free tracks. I hope I’ll sort this out later and be able to add music that perfectly matches each moment of the game, but for now we’ll work with what we have.
At this point, the update can be completed in about an hour with relatively fast reading, around an hour and a half if you carefully read every line and look at the renders, and about five minutes if you press the TAB key (don’t do that). I’ll post the same preview here and on Discord, because — why not? That’s all from me for today. See you in future posts and development updates.
Many thanks to everyone for the support — both financial and moral. Sending you all a big hug and wishing you a wonderful rest of the weekend if you’re relaxing, or the strength to stay sane if you’re working.
