Ren'Py - Completed - Betrayed [v1.03 Steam] [Joraell]

TLDR:
Great renders and animation can't save the story that's going nowhere and the redundant linear game play in between sex scenes.

PROS:

• Good CG Rendered Images/Animation
• Solid Concept/Setup for Story
• Decent characters

CONS:

• Linear/boring game play
• Story line/writing
• Diminishing returns on sex scenes

This is one of the best looking games out there and the animation is also very good.

The main problem is the game play is pretending it's something it's not. It's very linear in nature as everything is blocked off except the path you need to take. There are a few choices or hidden items to find, but really the game could have just been a straight up RENPY game with multiple choice options.

The story is also going nowhere fast. The concept of being able to switch bodies combined with the pills that grow or shrink body parts or increase sexual drive is good, but nothing is really being done with it. You can throw in the angel/devil into that mix as well.

This might start off garnering your interest, but it'll fade as you see things going nowhere ultimately as you follow through mundane tasks to get to the next sex scene.

Just finished the 0.61 update... fantastic game. The renders are in my top 5 for a VN. The animations are quite complex and nice (most of them). The story is interesting and new. The lines need a little work, but nothing that can't be fixed in the next update The game has a little bit of everything but at the same time not too much to make it confusing. Definitely in my top 10 favorite games (VNs). Can't wait for the rest of the story Keep up the good work !

This review is written after the release of v0.60, and I do not care about spoiler alerts.

The premise has potential as body-hopping is a fun plot point if exploited. However, I cannot help but to be disappointed by the fact that MC concerns more about using new bodies to have sex than to investigate his own death or find a way to come back. It would be nice to see the story refocusing on that.

I have some mixed feelings about the characters as I only found the Angel and the Demon memorable, while the rest weren't that appealing. My anxiousness for further developments in MC's death certainly doesn't improve my experience with the girls, as I couldn't bring myself to care about them with such a mystery looming over my head.

I would certainly look forward to plot developments, but for now, I am not particularly satisfied.

By far the best part of this game is the animations and renders. The animations are probably one of the best in the market and the girls look pretty hot, especially the devil girl (hoping for more scenes with her in the future). The writing is not bad and story concepts are actually pretty interesting.

overall a good game, story is different but alittle confusing maybe once we have more updates it will be clearer what is going on. possession idea is interesting but limited to a plot device. alot of potential will be waiting for new updates for sure.

I wasn't sure if I'd like this game initially, I usually like to focus on games with one main protagonist. And knowing that the MC dies almost immediately made me feel some type of way... at first. But as the game progressed I began to enjoy it more and more.

There really isn't a main focal point each character that's possessed his there own story to tell like the creepy cop. Sure he had the public thinking he was some sort of hero but that wasn't the case. Scarlett was my favorite possession, she's the hottest girl to me and maybe Ivanka.

Joraell Renders and animation are top tier, but particularly his renders. There's a hand full of Devs who's consistent at providing the best possible renders and he's one of them.

Lastly I just hope the MC somehow gets his body back and shags it mom, before the world explodes.

I was lucky enough to be pointed in the direction of this game last night. (Version 0.56) I say lucky enough, because I see so little about it and that is a shame.

I am a sucker for many of the genre tags, so there is that - but, the uniqueness of Betrayed is what really pulled me in. Yes, there are other games with all of the content, but not presented in a way or style that this game does.

I played through taking all of the 'devil' choices and had a lot of fun. So much so that I now look forward to going back to my save point and taking all of the 'angel' choices just to see what's different.

The models are mostly all new to me, and that is truly saying something. A couple look familiar, but that is nothing to even think of. So many games use the same old models that they blur. Not this game.

I saved the best for last - the animations. The animations in random places, like a girl walking down the hall into the bathroom are a great touch. I dare say... immersive. (dun dun duuun.) But the animations during sexual scenes are in my mind beyond any I have seen in any game on here. In fact, it makes me immediately wonder, why aren't all the games animated in such a way? I truly do not know.

To me, Betrayed sets the bar for animations that all creators should seek to match or improve upon.

The only drawback that I can even come up with is nitpicky - sometimes, it is difficult to find the clickable item that needs clicked. But a sweep (or two, or even three) of the monitor and they are found. Again, a minor point, but one that I can see frustrating some people less forgiving.

Overall, a very entertaining story, with some nice little twists and details that are a pleasure to play through. I look forward to seeing more, and now that this team of creators is on my radar, I will be following them closely into the future. Well done and keep up the good work!

My #1 reason to play adult games is the sex and this game delivers. From the texture of the skin to the many positions and angles, and models that appeal to many different kinks. The story mix of possession, corruption and mind control allows for many possibilities and the dev isn’t afraid to explore them. Some people seem to be taken aback by the gender swapping bit but they are missing out. The sex scenes are hot and well-done no matter what.

[Review for version 0.56-pc] I really, really LOVE this game. Great story so far, really nice renders and excellent, unique animations! Nice amount of free roaming, arousing bonus scenes. Only thing the game is missing is some kind of gallery or scene replay feature.

i usually hate VN kind of games, but this one is an exception

The Art is beautiful, the models absolutely gorgeous the story is interesting, and all the scenes (both sexual ones and the transformation ones) are very smooth with no hiccups in them of sorts.

Great storyline, the concept of switching from a character to another is awesome, especially when you're suddenly playing an angel character whereas ten minute before you were playing a lol.
Animations are getting better and better compared to early versions.

This is a different type of game from the ones I typically play, usually ones that are grounded in a semi-realistic world that don't involve fantasy elements, but I like it.

• The animations are top-notch, among the best out there
• The renders are good quality and have good lighting which is always a plus as not all devs get it right
• The female characters are nice, all very attractive, some moreso than others
• The plot is also quite interesting too, even if there are some fantasy elements that aren't my cup of tea

The only thing I really have an issue with is the body-swapping. I know this is a major element of the story and I'm not saying it's a bad story device or anything like that, it's just that I when personally find myself enjoying being a certain character, I'm forced to swap bodies with someone I don't want to be.

For instance, I enjoyed being that first guy who was fucking his sister (incest is my prime fetish ) and I felt like I didn't get enough time to enjoy that before becoming the a-hole cop. Also, I liked being that girl who was kidnapped (sorry for forgetting the names), specifically because of all the lesbian action and I was looking forward to the lesbian threesome reward for sabotaging the volleyball girls but then I became the creepy, weirdo teacher.

All that being said, I do enjoy the game overall and look forward to seeing where it's going. Plus, I like the hints being dropped that the MC is actually in a coma and am intrigued to know what will happen when he finds out and how it will play out (crossing my fingers for some Mom/Son action ).

Overall I would have to say that this is a pretty good game. At least thus far.
Things may change later down the road for example how does @Joraell finish it? Does he finish it? Or does he someday just get burned out like other Devs and say screw it.
Right now I'm Hoping he finishes because to me this is actually a pretty decent story.
Sure it's not the most unique story out there but then again it also doesn't play out like 90% of the games on here does.
MC leaves home, MC returns home, MC pervs on family.

as far as the characters go the models and renders are good. However none of them are truly memorable. I don't feel any real connection to any of them.
Granted to be fair from me that's proabably asking alot considering so far only 2 Devs have succeeded in that for me.

Overall to be perfectly honest normally I would give this game 3 out of 5 stars. But I am giving it 4 out of 5 due to how @Joraell is a comunicating with people. And sometimes that makes all the difference.

So far, another game with the unnecessary map movement/free-roaming element, where the players wait for the story to tell you where to go instead of just transitioning to the next scene (Like a Movie/TV Show). And not having to randomly click items, guessing where to go and relying on hints to get through the tedious steps to trigger the story. Like it’s there to make the game’s content look bigger than what it actually is.

The story has the player and protagonist aimlessly going around possessing one body to another body of some uninteresting characters with no real sense of progressing of learning anything and no real goal like getting his old body back in some loophole to materialize it or maybe create a brand new body starting a new life. It’s a turn off constantly seeing the story mainly focusing on the protagonist pretending to be the other people he’s possessed multiple times. Getting involved in their situations that had nothing to do with him in the first place and going with the form, like the drug/enhancer pill drama instead of focusing mainly on his own issues on being a dead spirit. I can’t remember if the protagonist has a personality other than be led around by the Devil and Angel or if he had any person life beforehand as no one really notably cared about his exist beside his mom.

Female character models are nice, mainly Bethany, Ivana, Megan models standing out the most among the rest. Each possessed male character (excluding the hobo) came out as some douche-bag with a smug grin. Ignoring the body-swapping context, the sexual scenes are good.

Maybe the story would be easier to follow if the plot focused on the protagonist getting another of having his own body back while in limbo, not just living other people’s lives. Also, maybe give protagonist one friend that did care about him who could see him and have them assist the protagonist In his quest.

This turns out to be an excellent game. I played it when it started, and saw it as another hefty, ambitious and complicated project soon to be abandoned. But I was wrong, even if I can see it got this good only in the recent updates.

Some characters are way better looking than others. Those two blonde bitches Brooke and Bethany, the angel chick (especially in those bonus scenes), and of course the really fucking beautiful red-head Ivana...

I hope future updates will see those four characters in particular more present than the lesser good-looking Sophia or Megan, but in any case, those animations are really good, and very complex. As far as I know, only NLT (Treasures of Nadia) tops them really, and that is saying a lot.

Storyline is funny, even as you momentarily play as a man in a girl's body. Kinda strange, but not repulsive in this game.

One of the many underrated games on this site... hell, period. I've been a fan since I first started playing but wanted to let the content build up and see where the story was headed. This is one of those games that you'd wanna keep in your favorites vault and replay over and over again. The story is unique to me because of the multiple characters, twists and turns. The supernatural element is a turn on for me, I'm a Angels and Demons kinda guy. And surprise, the Angel is more of a slut the the demon and I can't wait to corrupt her more.

There's a nice selection of characters, the slutty redhead combination of Ivanka and Scarlet are my best girls.

The story of most adult games is relatively simple, with the emphasis on sex scenes. This seems to be the approval of 90% of the players.
I am different. I am a story fan. I don't care if there is incest or a perverted plot, but without a fascinating plot development, I would rather choose the Harem game.
In many games, many role elements such as elves, Warcraft, angels, the future world, the universe and human society have developed and evolved independently. The ability to organically combine multiple elements is very rare. We have seen a lot of angel and devil worlds, but after adding sci-fi material, the storyline has become more tortuous and complicated, and maybe only Joraell did it.
We can imagine who is the winner in the fight between science and technology and magic?
Can MC follow angels and demons to make himself stronger? Can you also partner with Megan to become the future powerhouse? We are looking forward ......

The game makes players wander between magic and science fiction, which is really exciting.

So,the whole game is really,really good,i like it! The walktrough is not too complicated,the mc's last sencentes give us a very good hint for the next moves,i liked it. The graphic was amazing,animations,pieces,resolution absolut nice work. The story is is a bit foreign for me,but i can identify myself with mc so yeah,good! I love especially the demon and angel "fight" with each other,and the secrets of theys

I love this game, there's not games I've played so far that keeps me satisfied but this has always been one. I first found this on Fap Nation and was invested since. I'm always a sucker for the supernatural element so this works for me. The story is great and different seeing as how there really isn't a MC like the traditional games, you just kinda drift from body to body. I knew when Joraell made the decision the put MC in Scarlet's body there would be push back, especially if you choose the Anders route.

I just avoided his route and surprise surprise he would be the next body that get's possessed. So unfortunately for me I really couldn't avoid the creep entirely. However, I'm looking forward to revealing his skeletons in the future. Scarlet is my personal favorite, she just stands out to me, which is why I protected her from that creep Anders. Anyway, I can't wait from more Betrayed.
