VN - Ren'Py - Between Humanity [v0.3.2] [DebatingPanda]

I very much enjoyed playing through the game as of chapter 3. The visuals were beautiful, the animations were great, and the story was engaging. However, there are some minor, mainly personal issues I have with it.

First of all, why doesn't Michael seek any help? He insists on doing everything himself, despite it being clear that he's not making any progress at all. He's also unnecessarily secretive about absolutely everything.
Here's a direct quote from the game: "You omit some crucial details to avoid giving her a reason to think you need psychiatric help." Right… That seems to be one of the most prevalent themes here.

Actually, this is also evident in regular conversations. Let's take the first conversation between Michael and Mia as an example. Text in parenthesis means those are Michael's thoughts. It contains very minor spoilers, so I'll mark it as such.
Apart from the obvious redundancy in thoughts, why didn't he just say something? This wasn't a secret. Stuff like this is extremely common in this story, and for no reason at all.

Excellent story so far. Looking forward to how it unfolds.

Really enjoying Anya as a character. Love her spunky goblin personality.

Honestly the only downside I've come across is just that it's so short right now. I definitely should have waited til it was a little more fleshed out, but at the same time, I'm glad I picked it up where I did. I have something to look forward to. So, keep at it, Dev, let's see where your story takes us.

Okay, where to start with this one? Overall I'd say it's fairly middle of the road. A few good things, a few bad, nothing really standing out too much in either direction.

Pros:

Good quality animations and renders. Theres an animation of a girl walking down a hallway that is especially well done.

Reasonably interesting story hook, even if it's maybe a bit cliche and predictable.

No broken English. All the text is clear and easy to understand.

Cons:

The MC looks terrible. Like skinny little weird kid vibes. Definitely not someone who would be likely to have anywhere near as much popularity with women as he seems to.

Most of the female characters are just the same facial model with different hair thrown on them, and it's not even a particularly attractive facial model.

The dialogue sucks. The characters don't talk like real people, especially people around 20 years old. They constantly use phrases and idioms that no one at that age would ever use, and when the author tries to use more realistic language he screws it up with things like "thats a cap." Really needs to find someone skilled in dialogue to go back and rewrite it all for him. The scene with Anya was particularly cringe inducing and made absolutely no sense.

Not a lot of content so far. From what I understand the game has been in development for 2 years, and really doesn't have too much to show for it.

What is there is really high quality, but there are just way too many characters. 14 LI and growing. As a result, there is not much on any of their individual paths, and Im not sure how that can change moving forward, its just too many.

The writing, graphics and setting are top notch though, which makes it still worth playing. I would suggest this one

Gud game. Amazing visuals, great characters, and interesting story. Highly recommended.

The story is definitely a slow burn, but very much worth the wait. Can't wait for more content and to see where the story goes. Also, Lucy best girl.

Game with identity crisis

Game wants to convince you that it's a story driven visual novel, while using a typical porn game logic.

Pros
Visuals. This game does look good. Renders are nice.
H-scenes. Animation is smooth and looks good. But there only couple of them so far.

Cons
Story. I didn't find it interesting enough but that was not the main problem. It doesn't fit the whole silly approach with logic thrown out of the window.
Characters. Females look good, and cute enough to like them. But right from the start they like MC and act very defenseless.
MC. It's really hard to like him. There is nothing good about him. Just a typical horny and self centered teenager.


I started to play this game three times because it was looking promising, but could not find a reason to continue.

3/5 Play it only for visuals.

A petty excellent game across the board. Loved that main story balanced some intriguing mysteries and light-hearted fun. There's plenty of tropes but they're well done. The art and animation is wonderful, no complaints there. There's never a boring moment so far, despite the pace not being particularly fast. The characters are interesting varied, even if there's a bit too many to flesh out completely. Eagerly awaiting new chapters!

A gripping sci-fi VN with a strong emotional core. The story is mature, choice-driven, and full of replay value thanks to meaningful branching paths. Art and soundtrack perfectly match the tone, and v0.3.2 feels more polished than earlier builds.

One of the better story-focused VNs on F95Zone right now. Solid 4.5/5.

Really fun game with a lot of content so far, a unique story, and beautiful animations. The writing itself is good with an appropriate amount of innuendos and humour. The animation quality is great same as the image renders. All characters have their own personality . The story is quite fun with a nice pacing and good mystery, with some nice parallels to the real world. All but one "easter egg" is fun and interesting.

I hope the game continues in the same direction as it has so far.

I played version 0.3.2, and I highly recommend it.

I discovered this game around this time last year, and it's been one of my favorite visual novels since! It's the 3rd in my top 3! Between Humanity is a young game, but it shows a lot of promise! It's story is interesting, it's characters are memorable, and it's setting is nice! It's the kind of game I imagine I'll be glad I was around for since the beginning, once it's finished in a few years. It's an adventure I look forward to being along for the ride for!


That's all I can think to say right now, really. But, that's my review! I absolutely recommend this game! Looking forward to chapter 4!

This may be one of the hidden gems that needs more ratings. I just finished chapter one and of the 2 dozen or so Ren Py games that I've played thru, this one so far, stands out. If anything changes in the 2 chapters left to play, I'll update, but so far I'm hooked!

Overall this is a very good game. The visuals are amazing - the girls are all hot, and there's nice variety. The overarching story seems like it's going to be interesting too, but we haven't seen much of that yet.

The thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars is the dialog and humor - it often seems fairly awkward. It seems to have gotten better as the game has progressed though (The attempt at dominating Jane early on was particularly cringe).

Great storyline, so much that I am sad I got to the end of the current content and can't wait for more. Very compelling characters that feel like they are different from each other and not all the copy & paste like some other games and sexy & beautiful visuals

This game is quite brilliant. Writing is impressive. It's quite a slow burn and this is in no way diminishing this story at all. In fact, it creates perspective and I realize just how bad some games are, convoluted with juvenile fantasies, as if written by a teenager learning about life through porn. This is not that, in any way shape or form.

The main characters are vastly different and have personalities that perfectly make them distinguishable individuals. And it's a good rollercoaster with lots of comedic moments and some really deep ones to balance it all out.

I also like the models, they may be mostly top heavy but tastefully so.

Only reason i could think of to subtract a star or two is the disappointment to reach the end of the last chapter, i would be able to binge this for a full day or two. All good things comes to an end far to quickly.

PLAY IT!

Nice little game. Story is okay, didn't really hold my interest much to be honest but it's not bad. Nothing particularly interesting has happened in the three episodes so far other than some character building stuff.

The renders and quality of the art direction is very good, probably the best thing about the game.

The sex scenes were very mid in the first two episodes, just way too short to have any impact and there was no tension or buildup. Seems to be trending in the right direction in episode three with a very well done scene, glad to see this improving.

Overall solid work, with room for improvement.

Just wow! Haven't really found anything that bothers me. UI is nice, some nice features and game looks really clean with good renders and fluent animations. Lovely characters.

Only game I can compare this too, is something like Eternum. Which is a BIG compliment.

Before I tried out the latest version of the game I had a déjà vu: I felt like I knew this game from ages ago, played it and stopped because it had almost zero content.
Now, it's 2025, the game is in "Early Access" of 0.3.0 and it still has almost no lewd scenes to offer.
Reminder: This game started development back in 2023. 2 years.

The story is generic: Orphaned MC living together with a "family" full of horny and hot females, in all shapes and ages.
Haters will say the developer has been successfully milking his patrons for these 2 years.
I do say so. And going to come back in another year to check back.

Very nice renders, nice little story. Not a ton of choices, but enough to be satisfied. The dialogue is nice and there's not too much of it. Definitely a slow burner, but if It's done well (like it is here) then It's very much a enjoyable game. I'll be waiting for more!

It’s one of those stories where you’ll be constantly pondering: "Was that the right call? Or did I just doom someone?" Spoiler alert: you probably did.

The characters are one of the game's biggest strengths, imho. Each one feels real and layered, from the quick-witted, occasionally sarcastic protagonist, to the enigmatic figures hiding secrets like they’re a personal hobby (Jade), and that one character who somehow makes you question everything you thought you knew (Lilith). And if you don’t find yourself crushing on at least one character, I’ll be genuinely surprised. It’s just one of those games.

Visually, the art is stunning....i mean...it looks really great...! Given the circumstances that this is "only" HS 2 Graphics Standart. It doesn’t just look nice—it feels nice. Every scene, every expression, every little detail pulls you deeper into the world, making you forget that you’re playing a game. You’re just part of the story now, completely immersed in the world the creators have so carefully crafted. The lewd Scenes are also really good, but my personal focus is the Story.

The pacing is spot on, too. The game takes its time to build the world and characters, making sure you fully understand the weight of your choices before throwing you into the next big decision. The dialogue is sharp and natural, with enough humor to keep things from getting too heavy. But hey, that’s the magic of a good narrative, right?

A quick heads-up though: this isn’t a casual, feel-good VN. If you're after something light and breezy, this may not be your cup of tea...if you want a quick fap.....skip it. Between Humanity dives into deep and thought-provoking themes, and it’s not afraid to challenge your beliefs and test your moral compass. But if you’re up for a gripping experience that will have you second-guessing every choice, this is definitely a VN to check out.

In short, Between Humanity is shaping up to be a standout in the visual novel world. It’s a game that’s not afraid to make you uncomfortable, push you to think deeply, and leave you craving more once the credits roll. I'm constantly impressed with the background story-telling and I've laughed out loud more times than I can count.

I fully recommend this story and I can't wait to see more of it.
