VN - Ren'Py - Bitch Squad [v0.4.7] [IcarusLabs]

I'm not normally one for "revenge" fantasies but figured it could be fun to try one out. Was looking forward to having there be really one-dimensional bullies that the MC gets revenge on in a plethora of sexy scenarios. But this game is basically the opposite. The MC (and his pals) are entirely one dimensional, focused to a comical degree on revenge, and the "bullies" are multi-faceted, interesting nuanced characters. To the point that the author is likely trying to make the audience realize revenge is bad... but most everyone already knows that. Most are here for pulpy, campy, and sexy scenarios, not moralizing on why sometimes bullies are the true victims.

But that could still be a 5 star game. One dimensional MCs are nothing new, and having a slew of hot and interesting women for him to pursue keeps things exciting (Dean content when??). My main gripe with the game is the convoluted way content is hidden behind bizarre choices. Tell the truth about your relationship with Ashley? Say goodbye to half the Linda content, but no one else for some reason. Focus on messing up Kate's initiation? Well of course that means less sexual scenes with Amber. And don't get me started on the card games.

And I have plenty of story complaints as well. It's INSANE to me that the MC didn't immediately try to console Sarah after the leak, even if you're going a psychopath route it would make sense for him to fake feeling sorry for her. Why weren't we told at the time that the MC was patted down at the auction, I was convinced pursuing Charlotte was gonna backfire cuz she'd just say we stole it after sneaking in. Did Tommy ruin his uncle's business, and why didn't he just say he had to use the bathroom to avoid being beaten up? Why didn't the MC confront Kate publicly about her father temporarily kidnapping him?

But I have to admit after all that whining, I'm still interested in what happens next. The Dean, Miranda, Kate, and Sarah are all interesting and hot and I'm excited to see more of them. Charlotte really sucks but I want to know more about her tragic backstory. And I think it would be really funny if this game became supernatural at some point with the chanting monks and whatnot. So yeah, TLDR: lot of significant flaws and it's obnoxious to see all or even most of the content, but I still want to see what happens next.

What a breathtaking story. All those 1/5 stars reviews are written by too simple and straightforward guys to appreciate how complex and multifaceted it is. This is not another mediocre revenge game, it's something bigger, deeper and more special.
The renders, the animations and the scenes are good. The girls aren't skinny nor with gigantic bulging tits and asses. Just as IRL.
I think this is one of the most underrated AVN's on this forum.

The writing in this game is abysmal.
The MC acts like the girls destroyed his entire family when they just played a prank on him. He acts like a complete loser who cannot move on.

If saying shortly - its a revenge story game which is totally fail to deliver this same revenge. Whataver you do your bullies always one step ahead of you, charachters always do childs mistakes to create problems and misunderstandings. Bullies have thicc plot armor and every attempt to take revenge on them ends with MC getting even more fucked up, its basically a drama simulator.

MC is a dumb, naive, whiny bitch who are capable to continue fight baddies only thanks to writer. He always do dumb shit on which I look through facepalms. Almost all the time playing I react to MC doings like "The hell are you doing, you dumb fuck?". There is nothing satisfying in this game. MC, story, other characters, situations, lewd content, revenge aspect - all this just irritate and dissapoint.

Lewd content is so lame and cringe, that I got uncomfortable and feeling sorry for dude who made/writed it. I honestly regret wasted time on this 18+ meak copy of santa-barbara.

i have played this game for about 6 hours give or take fast reader but at some point it got harder to follow the evil path ,the mc is very dumb and the revenge aspect dosent feel anygood, he dosent feel like a bastard he feels sad and patethic ,and that would be good if the bitch squad was simpatetic but they are not they are awfull people that think themself has the good guys ,3 the worst and 2 too dumb to see the evil of the others, and the forgiving path is just has bad when now you are manipulated by them, and event are the same like your choice seems to not matters ...

The game is basically a kinetic novel, the options that there are do not contribute to the story at all, the MC is so pathetic that it is annoying, it is not a good game of revenge It doesn't help that the protagonist practically becomes worse than the people he wants to punish.

what's with the dumb phone mechanic? usually it's one click to select the reply and click anywhere/enter/space to go to the next message or to the next option. But this has you select "respond" THEN you select the only available answer.

What emma says in the library rings true for this mc. no matter how much they ruined his life. He'd fuck any and all of them at the drop of a hat. And with how much every single bitch seems to believe they made a positive difference and all their victims are being pussies. Why the fuck are they being given lenience. The mc and his fatty are super quick to go from; no prevention is the same as condoning to "sara never was an active participant so she is not that bad."

and some of you pay for/support this shit. . . I think you'd get more tangible pleasure and release if you saved that money and paid a dominatrix instead to humiliate you.

An interesting note about this.
Everything a sorority hazing or initiation does is accepted as fine as long as the girls get to do it to their successors, bully or humiliate the successors to make them believe they chose to do this. However they admit it's shitty. Band together against others if they get exposed. But protect their own for doing something they admit is the lowest of lows to another woman. But their girlfriends "'don't deserve this." Or they take pleasure doing it. But don't want the accountability. That's true for most of both genders (it's skewed more to women is a known fact. Do something atrocious behind people's backs and have a power trip with the control you wrested from someone else. Then start wailing at how unfair the world is once everyone hears what you did and isolate or make you pay.

Based on the bigger picture the bitches talk about. The author could very well pull an itachi and turn the villains into the "misunderstood heroes." However in my opinion.

for those of you who are into this, you don't even hate fuck the girls. Or if you do, not yet and not enough to warrant playing the entire waste of time. So far someone else/a girl gets a revenge/hate fuck in because the mc would much rather regular fuck them . . So it's also poor revenge porn to boot.

I do not recommend at all. I admit to being curious how everyone will be at the end of the game. But the only two options (if this wasn't so kinetic) would be:

a. to let the bitches carry out their agenda all the way to the end as it's clear they're not going to stop. And they don't compromise because they believe they're making a positive change.

b. the option that is less of a pussy. become worse than them. Sure blame them for it but become worse than them nonetheless.

I'd rate it 2 stars because in my view it's a decent representation. Anything lower isn't accurate because there used to be some good stuff here. But anything higher is just your typical Star Citizen player on copium lol.

The game kicks off with a revenge theme but it devolves into depicting the main character as a loser and jerk, regardless of your choices, which don't really matter. You can tweak some details, but the main "plot" unfolds regardless, either offscreen or directly. It reaches a point where it feels like a masochistic game, where the only enjoyment comes from being insulted, ridiculed or questioning your own sanity as you play.

If you think there's a positive outcome, I don't see it or any indication of it happening. Maybe the focus is on creating "good memories" rather than achieving a goal? However the brief sex scenes featuring the main character (others have them too, cuck fetish) are nothing more than pity sex. Despite promising beginnings in the first chapters, it takes an annoying turn.

Picture this: You've got a story that's wrapping up nicely, but you're determined to milk it and inject some unnecessary drama, reminiscent of those melodramatic teen telenovelas. That's the vibe I get from this game.

I just couldent get into this story, playing a brainless MC is never fun and the lack of choices stright from the start is only annoying.

MC knows they are evil bitches yet when one of them tells him to meet her in a room upstairs in 10 mins hes happy to do so, why i have no idea, i wouldent even thouch her if she had been a nice girl but MC is very childish in hes thought process like alot of games, everyone he sees is just a dream girl, dosent matter if shes the most ugly girl in the world to MC she will be hot......and it goes without saying hes left nude alone untill he desides to walk out to all the bitches for whatever reason to be laughed at.....

Next a LI is forced on you, forget about having choice in this game they are rare and not for importen stufff like who you want a relationship with, so your forced to be with an ugle LI, and thats just something i cant stand in any game where there should be choices, it makes it all kinetic and pointless, and it gets really annoying to reading MC thoughts about shes the most sexy woman hes ever seen, when you as the reader think shes one ugle girl...

Oh and ofc your forced to cheat on your girlfriend as well with yet another LI being forced on you, i dont really get why this dosent just have a kinetic tag since it sure feels like it, even Emma one of the most hated bitches from MC can be forced on you if you drop the girlfriend....happens in a truth and dare game where it forces you to do dares....

Pretty much every LI will be forced on you at some point, dosent matter you or MC hates them he will just fuck anything.

Then he meets another bully which he again treats nicely and shake her hand to a new start.....its like MC is asking to be the constant loser, hes so extreemly submissiv that its not even fun.

Even after they pull the same trick on him and how they been talking to him, he still trust Sarah, i just cant understand why devs made MC this freaking brainless, shes part of the bitch group and yet hes not mad at her and belive she has nothing to do with whats going on.....i am supprised MC can even walk with hes braincells being 1....putting hes trust in someone that are part of a group out to destroy him....its awefull writting/story.

Once MC has to stop the bitch group getting points for college club thing it becomes unplayable, hes fucking helping them get points it just makes no sense and story is to big a mess, even if you pick do anything for revenge MC helps Sarah get enough points for the contest, you have no options to stop it and it just feels extreemly worng in every possible way, she is pressured into it by the bitch group even MC says that and yet MC agrees to help her and yet again cheat on hes girlfriend he had sex with the night before.

Thats when i stopped playing story just turned to absolut shit and nothing made any sense, to make matters even worse Emma which MC hates walks in on MC and Sarah which Sarah knew all about yet again showing you cant trust any of them and what does MC do, he allows Emma to watch, it has to be the worst story ive ever experincened.

Also choices is pointless, i find the game pure kinetic, it dosent matter what you pick results are the same, like when you say dont post Sarah vid/photo they still do it which is also why your forced to be with her in the first place to make it follow a kinetic storyline.
You can also look at the step-sister you can pick dont forgive her or forgive her, but even when you pick dont forgive her later in story it will just ask you again but this time it wont give you an option to not forgive her.....its stupid.

I will stop talking about the story now, it should give a clear picture of how the game is and how MC is by now.

As for the girls/LIs there are some hot ones but those arent really for MC to be with, he only gets the boring ugly ones, so there is really not much value here either.

Animations are pretty bad, short and jumpy and resets when you click mouse.

As to music there arent any, always more boring playing a silent game.

Story started off very interesting and then kind of stagnates. There are no real changes to the story for a long time. Animations are better than most games, and the women are sexy. Lighting is below average so some scenes are very weird looking. Worth a play when it is finished but right now no story progression is really happening and most sex scenes are with the same girls so gets boring.

This game is one of the ones that flys under the radar. The plot, characters, and adult scenes are top tier, easy. New releases are not rushed out and feel complete. Looking forward to seeing how the plot works out, since one has been solved. Good luck!

I just realized I skipped like 2 updates after the last time the game left me with mixed feelings. So that would be enough time to wait. And boy oh boy, the 3.6GB would have been better spent on something else.

Let me be clear first. If you are a guy like me who enjoys “slow burn” -> Look for something else. This “game” which leaves your balls blue. And if I didn't play it again I wouldn't believe it myself as I had it better in my memory. It's more like a god damn woman telenovela with a small bit of erotica prizzle on it. And so the sex animations feel like. I guess the only reason why I came back is for the female models as it's the ONLY thing which keeps me coming back, but after this… nah, i'm out.

Despite my personal bias about how things could have been saved or even improved, I thought that at some point the “story” would go SOMEWHERE at some point. But it turns out that after everything the game pushes us through the boring parts, it always pushes us back to the start. Like one comment said it clearly: “It's more about the MC being a loser and weakling, then building any revenge at all.”

You see, despite after all this time, with the supposedly amount of “choices”, the game forces you back to either be betrayed and dumped so that MC can be once again a loser. I get that, some drama is always nice, but at this point it's not enjoyable anymore, it's outright laughable even. Of course as you can imagine, the girls in the “bitch squad” will also fuck other dudes. And while this would make me angry, I'm just bored now as the plot gets dumber and more ridiculous. It's safe to say the author has a kink for weaklings.

At some point I thought we finally achieved at least stage one, and despite neither having a “good” way with the girls or a “bad” one, the game gives the bitch leader plot armor once again and again. Trust me, this is ALL about MC his Humiliation and Voyeurism because why not im right lol. Everything else is an afterthought. Dont expect MC to fuck many girls either, let alone end up with some of them, or even have a harem if you were expecting this.

Edit: I have to go so low as one star from the two as it turns out for some reasons Dev hosts? this game 'online' which you cant play until you logged into it and have to access it. So basically the story ends with this update and im not even angry anymore. It started good, continued to disappoint every update i played and ended up like this as trash.

Interesting concept that's probably held back a bit by the lack of impactful decisions. I like the story despite that lack though it could be elevated a bit by not feeling like every event goes against the MC (even if it is nice that there are major setbacks). The models are good and the idea of hate sex with the "bitches" like with Emma is something I hope keeps coming up.

Most negative reviews come down to the story isn't going how I would like. So take it with a grain of salt, including mine.
While renders are average compared with the top VNs, they are fapable enough. Some models are really good imo.
Storywise the game is not the usual incest or college tropes.
Here we have a tale of vengeance and how far you would go to get your revenge on those who wronged you in the past.
The set up is pretty good for some kinky scenes and the dev is working on exploiting that. This is hate fucking.

Clearly effort and thought put into it, but the unlikeable love interests and a story that is simultaneously generic and convoluted hold it back. Visuals and music are good; sex scenes are great but relatively sparse which works for a build-up but doesn't feel like it works for the point the story is in, and some intense confusion between if this game is built for a harem game or a romance game (as the previous point on love interests doesn't help if it's the latter) certainly doesn't help.

You know what, coming back to this game has made me realise what a fucking travesty it is. I was far too lenient. This game, first and foremost, sells itself on it's premise. YOU, the protagonist, were fucked over by this group of bitches in high school, and now you've decided to take your revenge for the way they treated you. Simple, effective. The product?

I'd go so far as considering the descriptions provided by the dev as false advertising, because you NEVER get the upper hand in this game. Despite the illusion of choice, the dev is INSISTENT on refusing YOU the ability to make progress. You are saddled with one of the stupidest and most cowardly protagonists I've seen on this website (bar the worms in NTR games). Every thought that comes from him is idiotic, every time he talks to someone he manages to sound pathetic and can't make an argument to save his life, and what do you get to do? Sit there and watch. The fact we even have CHOICES when it's the equivalent of "get punched in the dick" or "get punched in the face", I mean just do a kinetic novel if you care this little.

And the girls? Why care! Every woman in the game is either boring as shit, a total cunt, or both! You have ZERO reason to persue these girls, they're meant to be the reason you play the bloody game and the dev can't even manage to make them interesting! There is no REASON to engage with this game. To answer my previous self, it's not a harem OR a romance game, because to be one would require the dev to have some form of plan or rational thought. If this was a self-insert I wouldn't be shocked, because the dev and MC share many qualities on display in this work.

While I didn't hate this and enjoyed some parts of the game I was hoping for a good revenge story but alas it isn't going that way, the protag is constantly forgiving people which is just bad for a revenge story, at least give us the option to forgive these people or still be angry with them.

Another issue this game faces is a major lack of choices which in a game like this you'd expect to have a decent amount of.

Finally this game follows the dumb trope of the MC getting a girl day 1 of arriving to the school/place without any buildup of a relationship.

Game has cool models, and they are the only reason i give this shitty show 2 stars.

The story is about a reveng plot and the idea would be good if played nicely, but MC is just a wimp and a loser and at some point you just start to think that he deserves what he got.

MC is unbearable. He behaves all the time like an annoying teenager, a crying babe.

He is also a total simp. What's the point of having a "revenge" plot since he goes around forgiving people that turned their backs on him when he needed the most? Its stupid.

The worst of all? You can't choose options, only accept the story as it is. Boring as heck.

On the surface, this game should have a lot of potential as a revenge fantasy. A wide cast of power-abusing it girls, many of whom are intensely unlikable, and a long-suffering MC who has every reason to take them down make for fine ingredients for a good comeuppance story. You want to root for the MC to take down his tormentors and see them get their just desserts.

Unfortunately, that potential isn't realized with Bitch Squad.

The renders are acceptable. They aren't by any means spectacular, but there are a decent number of animations, and a reasonable render-to-panel ratio where it doesn't feel like the dialogue is just overwhelming the scenes. But the renders are often grainy, particularly in the dark (which the developers use a bit too liberally for how often the renders degrade), and none of the visuals are particularly well-shaded or structured. They're basically your average fare; you expect this level of visuals in a modern VN. But at least they don't let you down.

The problem is the tone of the story.

The "bullying" girls are apparently a mix of impossibly naive and ignorant (Sarah, Annie), to bad for the sake of being bad/annoying (Charlotte, Emma), to supervillain criminal masterminds (Kate). They're completely over-the-top awful, yet somehow no one else seems to notice that they're mustache-twirling, monologue-delivering assholes who view everyone but each other as subhuman morons. The dramatic whiplash between these apparently invincible bullies and the completely inept MC and his overmatched shitty Justice League is simply too much. You're immediately taken out of the story because there's no way this is a fair fight.

The MC's inept, ragtag bunch have the support of one the richest and most powerful people in the city, the dean of their university, and some spy tech that lets them spy on their communication and is still nowhere near taking them down. The game has quickly spun out of control in premise and execution. Are these bullies the fucking CIA?

Despite the fact that certain members of the bullying clique are transparently assholes, apparently no one else notices anything, even going so far as vehemently defending them when multiple people have very public horror stories. They can literally display revenge porn in front of the entire freshman class and get off without so much as a slap on the wrist, but gain sympathy and power when someone leaks their nudes. Then, they leak the sorority's nudes and their charter gets revoked (see the theme here? apparently the only way to bully or humiliate someone is revenge porn). The writing is literally all over the place.

The girls feel like they have plot armor, and the author seems to be completely unable to think of any kind of "bullying" that doesn't involve involuntary nudity or somehow getting a bunch of 100-pound girls to "manipulate" men into beating up the MC.

You would think that if they were as bad as they are, set their sights as high as they do, and create as big a system as the game alleges, that there would be plenty of people who see their true colors or work against them. But no, this game does the opposite, and dumbs down everyone else to the point of eliciting eyerolls and facepalms. You don't even have any anger towards the bullies anymore, anyone stupid enough to still think they're good people deserve to be controlled like the mindless sheep they are.

The MC manages to squander all the advantages—they start by literally cloning their phones in the first act—and somehow manage to get outmaneuvered through their sheer pettiness and ineptitude. Which honestly isn't surprising, considering he spends most of his time victimizing himself and whining rather than strategizing or trying to succeed. Even the women in his life just kind of fall into his lap without any real effort on his behalf, despite his constant 'woe is me' attitude. Worse, all it takes is one of the bullies to show a little skin and suddenly he's a mewling lamb who can't think with anything but his dick.

Even worse still, the game actually penalizes you for trying to gain revenge. The optimal way of playing this game (in terms of the getting the most points and seeing the most scenes) is to go along with the bullies, which completely defeats the purpose of the revenge fantasy the game tries to set up. The literal hook of the game, getting revenge on these horrible bullies from your past, is actively impossible. Instead, you get the developer dangling the possibility in front of your face while bait-and-switching you with another, much inferior story altogether.

This game could easily have delivered if it went a more light-hearted route, stopped trying to build up the bullies into invincible baddies in more and more outlandish ways, and actually allowed the MC (and not one of the other cronies) to gain a few small but mounting victories against people who clearly deserve it. Instead, it tries to create this massive overarching conspiracy, trips on its own efforts, and morphs into a toothless, overwrought, and self-indulgent sadsack melodrama.

Not everything needs to be this big, world-ending conspiracy. Sometimes bullies are just bullies, and you can take them down a peg by standing up for yourself and metaphorically punching them in the mouth. The developers, however, don't seem to realize this, and instead drags out the thread as long as it'll go, until it's thin and stretched and far-fetched to the point of obliterating any suspension of disbelief.

You expect to see this kind of petty, poorly thought out one-upsmanship at a kindergarten playground ("my bully is bigger than yours"—"nuh uh... she's infinite size!"... "well, mine's infinity +1!"), not from the author of an 'adult' game. At some point there's not even a concrete story being told, just contrivances to figure out how to keep readers on the line by keeping the bullies one step ahead no matter how improbable it is.

The lack of a harem tag on this game is also an issue. When you have a Visual Novel with this large a cast of love interests, it becomes practically untenable when you have one love interest locking you out of scenes and causing other love interests to be jealous and avoid interactions. No one is going to want to play through the same game over and over, seeing 95% of the same scenes, just to play out the different routes between the girls, even if it might be more "realistic." This is a game, first and foremost. If you don't want a big harem ending, let people play out all the paths and decide their final girl ending at the finale, instead of having everything interfere with your playthrough and block scenes from ever occuring.

It's unfortunate, because the game had some potential. But it takes itself too seriously, it builds up the bullies into something too big and too bad to credibly take them down, and actively sabotaging the likability of the MC. Very quickly, you're left with this empty shell of a game where you no longer feel any satisfaction for getting revenge or justice.

TL;DR: Play it.

On the one hand, many aspects of this game are just average.

Contra:

• Darker renders have speckles.
• Many models are not original and not really beautiful (e.g. the main LI Ashley has so overused face).
• The story branches are few and far between, and the difference between them is not that large.
• There are a few places where the story is not that pleasant.

On the other hand, the plot is interesting and captivating, so it feels like a lot of content, but I still want more.

Pro:

• Dialogs are well written.
• There is some decent psychology.
• The characters are veritable (for an adult VN, that is).
• Erotic or sex scenes are mostly not bad.
• Animations are cool.
• Minigames are avoidable but you don't need to avoid them, they are good.

Conclusion:
