Ren'Py - BizzareHolyLand [v39.0] [HMO]

Amazing, really gorgeous art, full of animations...
...and sadly that's it.
Player gets hit with 50 walls of text full of exposition and explanations of the world and characters, then is presented with complicated UI, inventory and general sandbox systems.
All while having zero interactions beside one meaningless choice at the start.
My head started to hurt before I was able to finish tutorial.
I look forward to any future colaborations of this artist with more experienced writers and game designers!

-main quests are on a timer. happen every 5 days
-poorly done sandbox with very poor gui
-massive map. mostly empty. hunt for places where you can interact with things
-inconsistent navigation method (sometimes you click on directional arrow. sometimes you click on a door to go somewhere. sometimes on text)
-inconsistent map (I am in room A. I click on left arrow to go to room B. going back to room A can be right arrow, or up arrow, or down arrow. who knows. it varies. which requires you to memorize each location's name and use that to figure out where each arrow leads)
-bugs
-excessively verbose dialog that is broken english and feels pretty generic. I very quickly started skimming it.
-unavoidable nasty surprise hours into the game. I initially forgot when writing my review, possibly becaues I was skimming by that point. But when you you first encounter Luna (an angel girl) by rescuing her from demons. Luna is absolutely covered and stuffed with "dark seed" (monster sperm). Immediately you purify her sexually. personally I hate it... but I won't take off any points for this to try to be objective.

Overall it is a very poor game with amazingly good art and cute girls.
I ended up dropping it.

One star simply because that great art you see on the front page isn't what is in game anymore. For whatever reason they completly changed it and it looks terrible. I wish I knew why but it's been that way for a while so it's not going back sadly. Also big f for all yall ass lovers, this game is almost only big titties not much ass.

Fully animated big titty angels, many characters, scenes, world, super design, and many many more!
The way how those angels are drawn is unique (you will not see it every day). Big boobies, REALLY fancy costumes and giant wings.

The art itself is just tremendously good, a vast amount of angels/demons, each one well detailed and different, if you're looking for a good story it can be something meh, but it's not totally bad, music almost non-existent, but it's refreshing among all the sea of games in this category, see unique ideas and a style and animations well done, the environments all done, very underrated in its rating, compared to many more stale things, the gameplay can be somewhat tedious while you remember the places, but it is easy after you explore and remember a bit.

I've never, ever played a game on this site that I love so much yet hate at the same time.

The art is some of the best I've seen. Period. The animations are fluid, there are tonnes of them and the girls are just hot. (if you're into the whole religious and/or being abducted by succubi thing).

And yet, the navigation/quest/path system in this game is so horrendous that it's almost impossible to figure out anything without spending hours just clicking through locations and restarting your game constantly.

There are lots of unfinished paths that essentially lead you into a softlock and force you to restart if you want to see the rest of the content. Half of the locations, while pretty, are entirely useless and server no purpose other than to confuse you further.

At times you'll feel as if you've seen absolutely everything just to learn that you haven't even unlocked 80% of the gallery yet. And if you're like me, someone who doesn't enjoy just watching the gallery scenes and want the dialogue/build up to them, it doesn't really help to just use an unlocker. There are no walkthroughs or anything so good luck going back and forth trying to find what you've missed.

It's just sad. And yet despite all of those issues, I still can't give this game a rating lower than 4. The scenes and girls are just incredibly hot. Once you manage to force your way to them, of course.

Edit: I URGE the dev of this game to fix and polish the navigation system ASAP. The art is there, the animations are DEFINITELY there, it's time to postpone the next girl and just make this game actually playable. Please.

Art is unique and interesting. There are many scenes with different characters so most people should find what they are looking for. Gameplay is alright. I played it once some time ago and probably wont play again till way later version.

---Art style is alright. The character designs look nice but some of them (specifically 2 of the blonde angels you meet in chapter 1) are so similar that it's very hard to distinguish which one is present. Most characters also seem to have a common clothing style that's only slightly varied.
---It would be nice to have the option to use a static image instead of only moving images because it would make the game a lot less laggy than it needs to be.
---The backgrounds could maybe use a touch up. There is a scene that says there is an angel sculpted on the wall, and the wall is basically a blob of color.

---Story is pretty straight forward. You are literally a battery and everyone is a female who needs energy so you get to bang them all.

---Music is nice and calm.

---The gameplay / map movement is rather confusing and annoying. Sometimes you go one way and your entire direction gets rotated or flipped, so you try to go back but end up in a different spot. I usually have to rollback to undo wherever I went. There are also many areas where you can only progress through one path because the other side is blocked, so I don't see why you wouldn't just remove the option to explore since it doesn't do anything.
---The Hint system is nice and mostly easy to follow.
---Combat is very simple, you attack/use spells and deal damage.
---There are several bugs including: (1) viewing the skills during ch1 before you have use one, and (2) using an item in combat while holding the 2 special golden items from the casino while you are in The Tower. Both of these force you to rollback or send you to the menu (or rather, at least for me it did).
---The corruption path doesn't start at the beginning anymore and seems a lot shorter and less optional than it used to be.

---Be warned: this game uses a lot of crayola white that covers 90% of the screen, so if you play in the dark you will actually go blind.

I like the graphic.

I dont normally rate games but I just had to for this one. This game's artwork is just so good. I will admit it is a little bit annoying to try and keep track what is where and all that but the sex scenes make up for it. Honestly, Im considering subscribing to the person's patreon just so i can see more artwork like this. I just love the style they use to draw their women..

The vast majority of side content kicks you back to the main menu when you finish the given side quest, wouldn't be that bad of a bug but when you need that side content to get items/skills/whatever sandbox progression garbage it makes the game virtually unplayable. The dev has been made aware of the issue many times and seems to either not understand the extent of the issue or is just blind to the continuous reports and believes he's fixed it while in reality only fixing one instance.

It's a real shame because if not for the above issue, I'd give the game 4/5 stars, as the art and animations are both amazing as noted by other reviews. Only the writing is painfully bad - the author clearly speaks English as a second language, and I can bear some Engrish, but it legitimately reads like it was written by a 13-year old.

Unplayable mess as of v23.0. Right after the message "There supposed to be a H-scene" you step into a minefield of bugs, you keep getting dropped into the main menu or you just find stuff that you shouldnt be able to find at that moment of the game.

The one reason why I give it a star is for the art but it really doesn't meet the sexual scenes, they are sad, not to mention the annoying map system, that is, sanbox is disgusting, they really should remove it and make a visual novel 100% of the story, I wouldn't know What to say since the game blocks many decisions as it is not complete.

in my personal taste- not a good game- not enough sandbox, not enough vn, too many dangeon exploring, but some1 ll like that game- just matterof taste.

This game is sneaky awesome. Amazing models, an actual game with some choices to make that seem to effect the story (and possibly content you see). I would recommend this. the only way it could be better is if the textures were redone in 4k.

Love the unique art style. The navigation system can be a little confusing at times but its nothing unbearable. I'll definitely continue to come back with each update. So hopefully this stays alive. Keep up the good work

Plot is... kinda boring. Main character is some kind of "sacred being" that discharges holy power by ejaculation and apparently it's top quality food for everyone in this world. Interesting concept with horrible execution.
Annoying part for me is that text is riddled by emotes like: uwu, owo, lenny face (( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡ °)) and so on. MC , of course, is a retard that at some point starts talking to his penis and it responds back... with emojis too... These 2 things literally made me stop caring about story in second or third chapter.

Art itself is okay, not really my cup of tea and it made me think about league of angels for some reason. But that only applies to where art actually is. There are a lot sexual descriptions not reflected in what's going on the screen. Not sure if it's laziness or budget constraint.

Sandbox... While I never felt lost I am not sure why dev decided to go with sandbox. I don't see it taking any advantages that sandbox would give it and it could easily be made into visual novel for most likely better effect. Worst part about sandbox is that dev decided to put some material gathering (textiles for village girl) limited to being able to do it once after every quest, so you have to remember to go there and gather materials 5 times (which means 5 quests and after each one you have to remember to go there) to get that stupid dress. It's just a chore.

Not sure about sound since I played with it muted, but given rest of the game I am willing to believe other review that it is terrible.

Overall it's a poor game that has only art going on for it, at least where dev could be bothered to put art depicting what is going on in text.

Pretty af, really great looking game. Scenes are hot, characters look amazing. Really, really dope game to check out. My only problem is that its very clicky, lots of dialogues which are admittedly arent bad, but pretty tedious after a while, at least for me. I couldnt get through an hour of it due to that, but if youre ok with dialogue heavy clicky fuck games I recommend this one.

Wonderful, this is what people say, games should be an art and this game really does it, very good story, the characters are gorgeous, the type of animation is really different from the others, the choices really matter, different from some other games, your choices really change story and right from the start.
things that need some polishing are more sound, pov scenes, nephilims, more servicing (blowjob, boobjob etc) and anal.
gameplay is simple and fun, this is fucking easily a fucking 10/10.
Hear me out, play it, you won't regret a thing.
