So what actually causes progress to advance? I assume killing bosses but which bosses? Running around new areas and finding new characters already dead is pretty annoying.

Any boss behind a fog gate, excluding chaos dungeon or dlc 3. You also get progress for getting past the rose garden maze guards, pulling the lever in the cathedral crypt, entering upper lutwidge, and viewing a scene in spore forest that only appears at 0 progress.

just asking, when i try to open this game on windows 11 it shows a window saying dll initialisation routine failed, and somethig about no service pack. i searched for it and found the service packs are for windows 7?

Does anone have any idea?

Huh did you download the game from this thread right? That sounds like your files are faulty or incomplete. The other thing some japanese games need is to set your windows to japanese region aka trick it into thinking it is.
Or if you are out of luck a error with W11 but that shoulndt be the case normally.

i did A end and G end and now i can't even access dlc 2 to do dlc 3 how am i supposed to unlock dlc 3

Without the chaos dungeon, you can only get one per loop. It's in mushroom village.

So how the hell one defeats the old king? the guide and people here said that you need to break the shadows so they implode when he tries to use zexcalibur, but 20 clocks later and with all shadows at 1 pixel of life left they still are charging the attack then kill me right after, it's impossible to break them, also tried with the king club's hard break attack + absolute precision spell, its impossible to hit

Increase your luck. Break is also a status effect and if your luck is too low then you can't Break them.

You need to use the break skill for each duplicate. Attacking them is pointless.
