VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Blackheart Hotel [Final] [Blackheart Games]

This was the first adult visual novel I dropped early on. ( I usually finish every game i start, even those with nonsensical or poor stories. However, I couldn't even get halfway through this one.) I tried it because it was recommended as a "fucked up" game. The story is average, with some parts that feel like "so bad." The writer attempted to delve into mental health and psychological depth but failed due to a lack of knowledge and a weak storyline. The main character (MC) is dissatisfied with life and has thoughts of committing crimes such as r* or drugging food stuff. The initial premise had potential, but the execution faltered. PTSD symptoms and attempts at manipulation through monologues were presented, but ineffective storytelling, lack of knowledge about subjects such as personality psychology , social psychology, criminology - many more and repetitive scenes ruined the experience. The game suffers from an inefficient storytelling and lacks strong adult content. Despite options for r* scenes etc. the graphics are just "bad" . The adult scenes are just a few renders (1 position + 1-2 pictures and the scene is done), with no animations. If you're seeking a disturbing fucked up game, this isn't it. The story is insufficient, the graphics odd, and the faces rendered poorly. I'd suggest avoiding this one, but the choice is yours. And no, it is not one of the most violent and fucked up games in adult visual novel industry, i do not even consider this as "fucked up".

Definitely one of the most violent and fucked up game in this site ( most violent renpy game not a big fan of other engines so don't know if this is the most violent game in this site). I know there is another popular renpy game with necrophilia here but that's no where near this. This one actually got a plot you can say it's good or fucked up. Renders are good but models are usual. Writing is not bad nor good. Yeah it's a multi protagonist game. When it's reach halfway of the story you will control another male character. Both good different LI's ( can't be called as LI because love is not the primary concept here). Annoying thing in the game is monologues of MC actually it kinda annoying to read when game progresses. It's a violent game if it's not your game avoid it. I also don't prefer this kind of games but tried this one because of its popularity. There is lot of blood and deaths in this game you are warned. Overall this game is not good nor bad it's grey

Ok i didnt think i was going to like the game at first mainly because some of the theme was a bit extreme, but i started enjoying the story and thought what would i do for the people i love? Maybe not go around raping and killing people for kicks lol but would i want retribution if someone wronged my loved ones? HELL YES

I mean i had an argument with some a few days back after playing this for a few days and said if he didnt back off would kill him and kill all his friends and family and piss on them muhahaha, NOT REALLY of course.

Bottom Line yes its f****d up but its a game i certainly do not condone the things in the game in real life. Remember that and just enjoy your darker side we all have one this is just a way to do it safely in a game world.

4* could not give it 5* due to renders not top quality but certainly i am being picky

I finished this today and I have to say there are some pretty dark possibilities that you can be a part of if you choose to. On a few occasions, I went with my gut but saved to see what the other scenes might bring.

Although a few of the evil scenes were pretty hot, a lot of them were just not my thing. Still, that's fine. No kink shaming here.

As far as the story goes, it's decent but it does drag on a bit and gets difficult to follow here and there. Still, a few of the characters are very well developed and I found the ending to be very satisfying.

The renders are pretty good for the most part. I caught some poke throughs and collisions, but they weren't enough to take away from the game. There were a number of hot female models, but a few of them were the Daz standard models that you see in every other VN.

There are some coding issues that did take away from the game. This includes the Grace ending that did not work on my download and a prostitute somehow being involved in some late-game dialog where she wasn't in the scene.

All in all, a decent run. More violent in the sex department than I usually prefer but fun over all.

Best game in it's genre! I have played everything by Blackheart, this is by far my favorite, with multiple play throughs. Lots of action, plot twists, sexy women, and I'm a big fan of the sleep sex, rape, and all the options available. Glad that I got it when it was finished.

MC is an unlikeable cunt who starts off with an asslong internal monologue about how bad his life is, because he cheats on his loving girlfriend with a sidechick who also loves him and how he's a bad person, because all the girls want to jump his bone, but he still has the urge to drug women.
when he does, he contemplates what a bad person he is and that he shouldn't do that, but how he has the urge to force himself on them.
when he does that, he again contemplates what a horrible horrible person he is

but it's all his fathers fault, cause MC was molested as a child and neither his mother nor the police believed him, but his mother also blames MC that the father is dead

it's a non-con with an unlikeable MC, who does shit he doesn't want to do (not even by player choice, at one point the MC just drugs a police officer and later blames himself for being an idiot for drugging a policeofficer), bad art and so.much.inner.dialogue...

I get the feeling the dev tried to write ptsd, but has no clue about mental health at all...

This is one of those games that tries really hard to be edgy and dark, but it just ends up being rediculous. You have minimal control over the story, choices, and even your own actions. Control is give and taken away at random parts in the story, your characters story is already predetermined, the sex scenes are mediocre, bland, and of course edgy. The writing is a schizo nightmare, its all over the place, you play as a different character for seemingly no reason, people die and come back randomly, you don't even know if events are real or not or if you are having some type of schizo episode. It's just bad. Real bad. The only upside is that its kinda a long story. Avoid.

Good combination of a dark content and decent writing. No, sdriously, for some reason all of dark porn games have the story and dialogues seemingly written by a horny teenager. This one here was a positive surprise. Highly recommended for all dark content enjoyers.

The game has some really good events if you're into being an evil mc, but that's about where the positives end. The renders are below average and the animations are extremely clumsy. If this game had consistently good writing and storytelling throughout the game with some better art/animation it could have really been something unique, but currently I wouldn't recommend it unless you're desperate for an evil mc VN.

Starts off nice but somewhere along the way, the story just stops making sense and being good. The renders are honestly bad, the animations are stiff and look ugly.


But I will give this game stars for the dev having the courage to make a game with an actually evil character.

If you like games with dark content then this is certainly one for you.
Rape, Murder, Torture are common themes in this, so if you have a weak disposition or get triggered by triggers (hah) then avoid this.

It might be a testament to my own dark nature but I kind of enjoyed this game, well the first couple of hours anyway. After that it went downhill quite a bit. I love Paige! she was a scream...and I can kind of identify with her a bit due to having done some fucked up shit in the past too. She made me laugh a lot though and the scene where she sits on the face of a woman in a coma....tooo funny! I have to try that someday...so if your mom is in my local hospital and in a coma...well she's fair game...

But yeah Paige was cute and Ioved her goth look too, little hottie!
Shame she met the MC though as it was never going to end well there.

Talking about the MC, it's impossible to like this nutcase. Once he's in his Jacky stage it's really downhill all the way...I felt kind of sorry for anyone who crossed his path once his real self emerges. I actually was glad when I got the suicide end with him. He's a piece of shit really and the way he treats Paige...

The game was great for the first couple of hours and felt tense at times between his unravelling psyche and like when the female cop comes after him. There was some cool moments. Unfortunately the story just nose dived shortly after Jacky is awakened. There wasn't really much in meaningful choices either. A redemption route would have been nice.

Overall an average game with some dark content which could also be funny if you are kind of sick like me. Worth a look at certainly.

P.S. Paige should have her own game as the female MC in it. Like her earlier years before meeting that Psycho.

Came for the dark porn, stayed for the dark porn...and the dark story, like I cant say yet if it is any sort of masterpiece or not, but I'm really immersed into the story right now, the same way you get when getting immersed into a novel. Only thing I can really think of right now is that maybe the characters arent all that well fleshed out, but I think that can be excused concidering the whole shtick of this story seems to be "everyone knows things, except me, and are the things I know even real" and you get fed minute details from time to time to build your own narrative (be it turn out to be correct or not)

Maybe I am expecting far too much from what is essentially a porn game, but if it doesnt dip in the end of it, this will surely be a visual novel I will remember fondly.

May update 5star when finished playing, but hopefully I wont have to.

I really like blackheart games like guardian/whipering pine/PA but this game is the worst ive seen from this creator, ill tell you why in spoiler part below.

This is proberly a great game for those that are into really dark games with a evil mind set that goes all evil, but for the rest of us that arent into rape, torture, killing and having a really messed up mindset, then its a game you should NOT play.

Game only really make sense on pure evil route, why they put in the option to be good i truely dont know since it dosent work.

The spoiler review is made while playing it form start to finish as a good guy, adding stuff as i go, how the experince is for picking "good" route that is pretty broken.

If you like dark games that touch areas where few developers dare to go then you at the right game. If you like abuse and violence this game will satisfy you.

The rest of the game is lackluster in nearly every way, from the renders to the sex scenes to the last half of the story.

The game does start off fairly well and is compelling at the beginning. The problem is that the story gets worse as time goes on to the point of being ridiculous/fubar.

You have a developer who refuses to touch old content, even for bugs. Because of this, the game is riddled with bugs and plot issues. The developer doesn't take action to the multitude of players reporting the bugs or plot issues. Since he has a policy of not touching old content, players are left with a literal mess (read through the game thread for proof).

This is also one of the few games on this site where the comments section is locked. The developer has moved on and doesn't want to hear all the complaints. You have a bug? Too bad, the developer isn't interested.

This game could have been good with better renders, sex scenes, and not destroying the plot half way through the game. As it stands, I can't really recommend the game to most players.

Easily one of my favorite games already off rip by the investing story and interesting character plot. I wish I found Blackheart hotel later down the road so I wouldn't have to wait for Blackheart Resort.

Probably the worst game this Dev has ever made. Yeah, it's incredibly dark and pretty damn long too! But where's the fun in that when this thing is, ultimately, a linear as hell kinetic novel and offers NO MEANINGFUL CHOICES that the player can make? (Seriously, even a love interest is forced on you cause that's how little your choices matter lol!) I really wanted to like this since my sexual fetishes are, admittedly, pretty dark. But man! There's so many other better, "rape" games out there that just do it better than this (and hell, even look better too!)

an amazing game for those looking for a forced sex in a good story.
The story is not far fetched, and you feel sympathy to the guy. And to most of the women he encounters.
Good story, good design, the ending is a bit too much for me, it escalated pretty fast. But amazing beginning

I can't believe I read this entire schizophrenic mess just to get blue balled on Sal banging his daughters. This VN loses the plot big time about three hours in and never recovers. It also becomes repetitive as all hell.

As shown in the preview, you step into the shoes of the owner of The Blackheart Hotel. A character having a rather peaceful life at first glance, with a boring daily routine, and apart from the few atypical tenants, little suggests what will follow. But get comfortable, put on your seatbelt, and hold on to the armrests. Quickly, we discover that he has some memory problems which installs us little by little in the light, towards the shadow of something which seems to hover above this mysterious hotel. We understand almost nothing at the beginning so much the Mc becomes more and more confused, between his absences of memory, his blackouts, while the characters who surround him, both the employees and the tenants seem to ignore his increasingly strange behavior . From there begins a spiral descent into the abyss of hell. The most twisted story I've had the opportunity to see here. From this Mc that we come to hate for the horrors he inflicts on the occupants of the hotel and not only them, we discover a past made of violence, manipulations and lies, we discover the conspiracies and the implications of his entourages, past and present, passing through wars of rivalry as much within his own "family" as with the other clans who fight for the conquest of territories, and we almost come to love him, this horrible Mc who no doubt one would like to see die in atrocious suffering for the monstrous things he has done, and which seem to increase as time goes by, his wickedness, his hatred seems limitless, as much as his devotion and his love for those he loves. Undoubtedly, the originality and the depth in which this story leads us, does not leave indifferent. Cons, well they are mentioned several times. The language of the protagonists (all speak like retarded thugs), grammatical and writing errors, flag errors, choices that are not respected, some endings that are still buggy. In terms of renders and animations, it's a bit average, with npc's who turn their backs during conversations, very short sex scenes and mechanical animations, and the sound which is only present at the end of the game. But nothing objectionable as far as I'm concerned. it's not too late to pick up and polish the game, whose story is as disturbing as it is delightful. - 2 stars because of the cons, (even I would like to give the maximum rating I honestly can't ignore them)
