Metroid-like with the frustrating enemies respawing from castlevania lol. Don't get me wrong i like both franchises, however i hate cheap knockbacks.
Luckily, there is no knockback in Blue Guardian but it doesn't mean that the game is great. I really wish you could scroll down or up in blue guardian... Also, the screen is not well centered. When you go too far to the left, it hinders your right side of the screen so you can't see enemies running after you.
Their bgms is used in so many indie games it kinda lost its originality for me. The aiming feels unnatural as well. If you touch an idled enemy, you take damage which is one of my most despised thing in games.
If you like trial and error games this is for you. Personally, after a lot of hard games completed, i don't have the patience or time to deal with unfair or cryptic af games anymore. I'm not letting the rage influence my rating though. This is not a bad or top tier game.. Just an average "you're gonna die a lot without warning and search every pixel of the game to progress" one.
